Wow your channel is a gold mine for engine building. I’ve watched a lot of UA-cam videos of builds and built a few myself and thought I knew enough but I’m learning so much here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
So I just watched all 4 parts. You OBVIOUSLY know what your doing. Me? Not so much. I’m “considering” purchasing a 2004 Scion XB with a 1NZ-FE. I won’t be able to do what you’ve done as I do not have the tools nor knowledge, but I do want to maintain it as much as I can. Sparks plugs, fuel injectors, fluids, and gaskets. Do you feel that is enough for a simple maintenance approach for a daily driver? BTW.. these videos are very impressive. I am subscribed!
The engine that's still in my echo has 350,000 miles and it still runs and drives. I'm rebuilding the other engine for it because it's power has gone down pretty bad and it burns oil like crazy. So it just depends on where your mileage is on the Scion. Overall parts are way cheap for these cars now so maintenence and cost is minimum. I recommend joining the Echo enthusiast group on Facebook. I joined a while ago and that's been a good resource talking with other Echo owners.
It is a typo. I checked in my 1NZ-FE repair manual and it says : Maximum thrust clearance: 0.30 mm (0.0118 in.) So yours has a slip in the mm from 0.30 (correct) to 0.03 (incorrect)
Thanks for this man! I might need to do something like this. My 06 scion xa’s crank shaft I think might be screwed. The pin like thing on the outside that seems to go into the crank pulley has sheared off and somehow welded itself in the hole on the pulley. By chance u have any tips or advice?

Great video 👍🏿. Can that manual be purchased online?

The other numbers were the same
Standard thrust clearance:
0.09 to 0.19 mm (0.0035 to 0.0075 in.)

I would think you could drill that pin out because it's pressed in anyways. Then just buy a new one a tap it in with a hammer.
Wouldn’t it need to be welded or fastened to the crank pulley tho? Thanks for the speedy reply btw!
@@louiszacarias8788 No, the crank pulley should always be removable or you would never be able to change the oil pump.
I was thinking that pin was like a woodruff key, normally isn’t it part of the crank shaft?
My bad! I meant fixed to the crank shaft the pin I mean
