I have never met Frank Vignola but I have a number of friends who know him very well. In addition to his great talent and musicianship he is indeed a great person. They all praise him for his kindness, generosity, fellowship, personality, humility, I could go on for a long time . I sincerely regret that I have not met him, it would indeed be a high point for me.
Frank Vignola is if not number one he is close to it. But don't forget Gary Mazzarpoppi who is on many of these cuts and always adds so much. I don't think it is on the website any more, but there is a cut of Les Paul in Australia. with Gary and Les doing some absolutely great work on How High the Moon.
Yes!!! Sounds SO good! Jimmy and Frank are both outstanding guitarists and they work very well together. The bassist at minute marker 12:00 is groovin'! The entire band is top-notch. This video put a big smile on my face. Thanks for posting.
Fantastic playing Frank. Never got to see Jimmy live, but your recording with him and Howard Alden remains a classic in my collection. Much inspiration for my own (very subpar) playing... Unfortunately I rarely get back to NYC these days, being on the West Coast. Jersey Jazz and NYC memories however.
Frank would you ever consider doing a guitar lesson on just the backup chords to a song? I have a particular song in mind "Open Your Window" by Harry Nilsson. It's a beautiful jazzy song. I was wanting to learn how to play the exact chords and exact inversion of the chords the guitar is playing. Anyway Frank if you haven't heard the song I think you would really like it! .
Nice to see an old Veteran be so supportive to the younger generation. Jimmy still has it. Stay healthy Jimmy!
楽しそう!😁
It,s great to see Jimmy so happy and playing so well!!

Jimmi you are amazing👍
Both Frank and Jimmy were sounding particularly fine this session but I’m still not convinced that Albert Einstein hasn’t somehow replaced Jimmy.
For whatever reason, you two are my favorites and it's such a treat to see you playing together.
What a great group of musicians. Real seasoned pro's and it shows.
Frank Vignola is a god.
Ce Frank Vignola, quelle bienveillance.

Jimmy looks like Einstein on stage live
Jesus...Jimmy is "tasty"!
It was only right that the guitarist told the old man not to play during the piano solo. Less is more.
