I don’t intend to be arbitrary, I am a student of the Hans. We would not call any of this push hands or fa li, fa Jin. Wang removed those from yiquan as they aren’t understood by the students. The fixed format of tui shou creates two states with an unstable transitional state. Yiquan is one. Fa li is also so misunderstood. Yiquan does not issue outward. In one split second everything is there. it is not thrown away but condensed. Wang ceased those habits to promote understanding and true expressive ability without predictive action. Han family yiquan has no fixed tui shou. Even turely explosive movement should not be done more than three times a day. “ the mountain destroys itself” that was wangs allegory for repeated attempts at fa li. I believe if anyone reading this understands what I’ve stated, they already have some cultivation, but for those that haven’t experienced it, it sounds like something they are unwilling to consider, afterall the martial community uses tui shou and fa li a lot. To say we have tui shou but not tui shou is a contradiction. Wang was the master of contradiction! To say that guy flying away was not just hit with speed and power is unintelligible to anyone who only knows speed and power. Thank you for posting Shu Shu!
Prof Yu said the same. Rarely do fali and only if you have build enough power and can recover it. All this fa li x100 vidéos are not the style I learned. Standing was tiring and building power and fa li too. Life or death stuff really and real intent to do maximum damage. Everything was also 1. Never 1 2 3. Exploding power from the inside in all directions. It eminates and people can see and feel it. You build the animal and become a tiger. I mainly just see kittens nowadays.
I believe some folks are upset that this is called 'push hands' and there is some suggestion that the idea that Han Xingyuan did push hands has been falsely assumed from this video. So, here is a video of Han Xingyuan doing single and double push hands - or at least, the basic exercise. We don't know the context. He might even be saying 'this is how we used to do it' - who knows. Who cares even. ua-cam.com/video/0bGxuz1tXO4/v-deo.html
