  • When it comes to 5-axis machining, there are generally three main methods or configurations used to achieve complex geometries and precision parts. These configurations define how the part or tool moves within the machine to access various surfaces of the workpiece.
In this episode of 5-Axis Factor, Steve Michon and the @zerotolerance8262 team shows you the three ways to 5-axis machining.
    The three methods are:
    3+2, 4+1 and Full 5-axis.
Steve then suggests some key points when performing 5-axis machining:
    • Trust in your machinery
    • Kinematics are important for tight tolerance mold shop work
    • Temperature control for all machines during the seasons changing
Steven also shows examples of the 3 different machining styles later in this video.

I like the machining program / cutter path - very efficient. Manually tuned for efficiency or straight from the program - it looks too efficient for just a program.

    Enjoyed your video!
Recommend to explain/recap for beginners what 3+2, 4+1 and full-5 machining means (what axes? what 3+2 can/cannot do, what 4+1 can/cannot do, what full-5 can do, etc.) in the first minutes of the video. The video mostly discusses accuracy, and lacks the intro/basics. Maybe that is in another video.

I would love to see more about how to dial your 5th in. What you're using to get the data sorted with the ball your probing, is that all in the controller? I have a vf4 with a nikken 5th axis used for 3+2 mostly.

i wish you will make more detailed videos of simultaneous five axis machine programming and setup .... also like if you will give some complex part machining examples in future....basic tutorial on 5 axis are already on other channel on UA-cam ....you make some complete parts
