The wink is so lovely :)
;)
They fly over my house in south west France all the time. They never fail to impress.
I was about to write the same sentence. .
Im not far from where they land in the UK, see them all the time :)
@@cornovii3012 Chester? My home town.👍🏻
@@wallabybob3020 I'm just outside of Chester, see a couple a week sometimes if you're looking :)
Imagine being French 😅😂
Kinda hard to believe that an A330 can be turned into such a humongous aircraft
to be fair the a330 was pretty big to begin with
@@spenofzeros Not really, A330-200 isn't that big to begin with. They are a stretched variant of A300 after all.
BUT, Airbus did create A340-600 from stretching A300-600. So it makes sense that they are able to make Beluga.
Does anyone see the beluga/ XL ugly?
@@mohammadnoman370 Well it does look like a whale. Although it looks better than the tumor growing out of the 747.
@@nntflow7058In what world is an A330 not a big aircraft?
Way to go Airbus…keep up the good work ✈
I've seen these a couple of times flying over Liverpool and they are a spectacular sight. Well done Airbus for making another very special and iconic aircraft 😁
Loving the wink :)
The only time I saw one was in LAX I learned later that it was making a refuel stop en-route to Toulouse. It was a magnificent sight.
The cutest beast ever.
One of the goofiest looking planes in aviation history.
It's adorable😅😅😅
I work at airbus, providing wing parts. I absolutely love my job, and take my hat of to the guys what build our lovely wings. Keep it up you lovely folks. Love you. Xxx
I like the winking left eye
A beast of a plane, see them flyover regularly!
A formation shot of all the Beluga’s would be spectacular 😮 Anyone got the phone number of Airbus Test Flight Pilots Dept? 🤣
I really hope that Airbus would do that! Maybe when the old Belugas will retire from transporting aircraft parts... imagine 11 Belugas flying all together 😍
An elephant walk of Airbus Beluga’s & the XL would be insane
@@november2076 that would be a hell of a logistic planning (I imagine they'd want it to continue transporting to and from... with rare downtime...)
It’s really cute. This “cargo whale’s” livery for me might be comes to life (with its “mouth & eyes” move). Also, much better than the “tumor-shaped” Dreamlifter (or I called it the “Tumorlifter”), even both are useful for carrying parts of the plane or an ovesized cargo.
The tumorlifter is the perfect name for the plane transporting 747 ( boeing could've done better!
nice for airbus beluga xl mr
Love it!!
Good to hear that they will keep flying
Gotta say it looks better than the Boeing 747-400LCF (The Dreamlifter) by a sizeable margin.
That's amazing! Love the fun livery :)
My favorite plane! ✈️💙🥰
Fantastic news dude!
She’s beautiful 😊
That is one beautiful plane!🇬🇧
The engines are made across the road from my home the things are huge. This thing is massive but with 51 tonnes of cargo it boggles my mind how it can still fly. Those engines are super
Whoever draw the eyes to this giant bird deserves a pay rise 😅
This is the cutest ugly aircraft I have ever seen. That paint really adds that character
Such an awesome plane
I love it.
Love it
The shape, size and carry wow.
Brilliant
It just makes good business sense to upgrade your fleet and turn the old stock into another complete division catering to the commercial super heavy transport needs of the world.
Plus might be extra cargo opportunity for large size but maybe not super heavy stuff with the loss of the antonov in Ukraine
@MM-fe9mz Yeh that is true, sad but true.
Brilliant. Nothing short of brilliant. They are on the A330-200 platform with the Rolls-Royce engines. Did Airbus have the thrust increased for more power? It'll be nice if the ones on the 800neo were used. Let me know.
No, they are the same Trent 700. The A330neo uses the Trent 7000, which in turn is a derivative of the Trent 1000 designed for the 787
The Question is Why didn't Airbus Use the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000
For better fuel efficiency??
@@ibxgameryt9449wo reasons:
1. Basing the aircraft on the A330 rather than the neo allows them to build these aircraft without interrupting the neo line. The A330-200 obviously isn't equipped for the Trent 7000 engines.
2. These don't have a high enough operational tempo for the increased capital cost of the Trent 7000 to offset the reduced fuel cost
@@jackroutledge352 well basing it on the A330-200 is A Good Idea,
And the Trent 700 is the main option for the Beluga XL.
But why they didn't use the GE-CF6-6 engine??
@@ibxgameryt9449 Maybe it's because Rolls Royce has produced a better, and more fuel efficient engine than the competitors.
The smile reminds me of the Amazon logo..
hehe nice one
When I saw the title and the thumbnail, I thought, "Oh, no-no-no. They have Prime Air (or do they?)!"
After my anger subsided, the rational side of my brain realized that Amazon has no use for a plane that size (or do they?).
Would have been cool to see this at Oshkosh '23. A Super Guppy and a Dream Lifter are there this year.
It is a amazing cargo plane for Airbus Industries.
All we need now is the Beluga neo and compete with the Dreamlifter.
I like the wink
it's adorable
😉
IT'S UGLIER THAN SIN BUT THE NEW LIVERY MAKES IT ADORABLE.
With Antonov gone . A market has opened for heavy hauls
only 51 tons, that’s not heavy :-(
It has been designed to transport large composite components, nothing heavy like tanks or containers
I doubt there is a big market for the Beluga St (40 tons only)
Wow 😮😮😮
Differentiating an XL from a ST is difficult unless you read those extra words on top of XL
I suppose the other 5 transporter will get new paint scheme once they become a different division of Airbus Transport
Like ing the beluga 6 makes me fun
big bird name after fish go brrrrrr
The Beluga whale is a mammal, not a fish
@@MattBlue big nerd named after colour go brrr
It never seizes to amaze me how something so big can fly even with just 2 engines. Mankind can do wonderful things shame our eed for greed and war can't be removed and countries worldwide instead putting our heads together to create more wonderful things
Airbus need to come out with an aircraft that is the same size as The Stratolaunch - what about a A380 version of the Beluga?
Great to see that there is an alternative to the B747-8f
It's not really... Only if the cargo is very light
Although this is the last of its line, post pandemic I can see a380's being converted into "beluga type 3". With its enormous basic body and 4 jets, doing an expanded above wing treatment, like the beluga, could mean the thing would have the size, power, and economy to carry complete smaller airbus complete fuselage, all the a350neo parts to touluse, and fill the gap for huge transports that the end of the 747's and destruction of the antanov huge heavy lifters destroyed by Russia in ukraine
got a feeling Airbus is gonna throw a line to Antonov to rebuild THE heavy lifter AN-225 tho it probably would look very different on the tail (IIRC it was due to the planned soviet shuttle flights)
That is the 2nd largest beluga I've ever seen. Just saying. Very COoL
I think we need a Blue Whale variety do the Beluga fleet can have their fuselage shipped when needed! Fair is fair!
Go Airbus
Their shares have had a good run since the pandemic nadir.
Nice plane just wondering will the Antonov mriya be rebuilt !!
With respect to the charter market, how does the Airbus Beluga Transport compare to other outsized cargo carriers like Volga-Dnepr? So, how do the cargo volumes compare? Changing the topic to livery, it's a friendly design. However, if I have a choice, the ribbon goes to ANA's Honu livery on their A380s.
If you need to move something really heavy, the beluga or belugaXL isn't particularly capable. The dreamlifter has more than twice the payload capacity, and an An-124 has thrice the payload capacity. However, the cargo volume of the BelugaXL is second to none as far as I know.
@@ktmf2 They could make beluga-XL based on A340 if they want it carry heavy load
I think this beluga may be used to carry other cargo if needed.
The airbus CEO's kids finally got to do the design
Just look up Airbus’ Beluga XL plane, they’re funny looking and totally real!
I love the livery and it's great to hear about Airbus accomplishments from Simple Flying, Sadly another aviation channel turns these video types into Boeing Commercials.
I wonder what the cross wind limit is for these huge cross area surface airplane. Not much is my guess.
@@dr5290 No I meant X-wind limit for landings. Manufacturer have to demonstrate X-wind limits flown by average pilots and then certify it. For parkings there is no certified limit.
Especially after the Mriya
2:14 People who actually know how to take a movie with their phone's camera!! Not a Vertical phone anywhere.
We need a plane for planes.
But why is it the final? Have Airbus got some crystal ball showing the future? Are they editing down the UK plants making wings, and can use road transport for the rest?
Next will be the beluga XXL in 5 to 10 years when these start aging
It would be interesting to know how much does this additional logistics add to the price tag of an aircraft.
Pure speculation here, but I would assume that it makes economic sense to develop a whole new platform for the logistical challenge of transporting aircraft parts. I expect the overall impact on the price tag of aircraft would be to decrease it, rather than increase it; as the increased capacity allows for faster assemble and better throughput…
I think it's also done to get funds from the various EU countries. It's a lot easier to get your policy pushed through when each voting country has a steak in your company.
@@Gojoe107 and non EU (UK)

Since the AN-225 was destroyed, Is this the only option for very large payloads?
The Beluga is for bulky stuff, which isn't that heavy, like aircraft wings. The 225 was for far more weight in comparison.
There's also the 124, which exists in bigger numbers
A cute aircraft just like the whale it's named after.
Only two engines instead of four?
Bet it loves crosswinds! And I wonder how much development cost. It's a minger but I do like that livery.
I think to many, it's beautiful.
Next up, A380 Mega Beluga???
Why it's final?
just me or do they look derpy? :D
I was hopping they would of had all 6Beluga's in 1 shot.
So airbus is gonna discontinue beluga after this?
Is there another plane inside the plane inside the Beluga?
their function is to carry other plane part, be it likes entire wing, 3/4 of body, etc
$PLTR 😊
why final?
cool ngl lol
I'd prefer eyes to the wink.
This is like the Fiat 600 Multipla of the plane world.
Can this be a passenger aircraft in the future?
No
I think they should take over the market for transport of commercial goods. Reduce the cost of air freight from china to the USA for example and that alone will seize the larger market share.
I didn't know the dolphin can fly lol
Noooo!! Why the final? Why won't they be building more of them?😭😭
2:30
What’s the price of a passenger’s ticket for this plane?
My advice is that you Google that question.
We used planes to transport planes
I'd love to see someone with too much money turn one of these into a sky yacht of some kind. Can you imagine what an Arab prince would do with all that room?
@Beluga
Now imagine an a350 being converted to a beluga
they planned to do that with an A340-600 to transport A380 parts. But then chose to use a ship instead
That smile looks an awful lot like the Amazon logo.
The whale of blue skies
Old enough to have seen the super Guppies fly over my house, now these bigger machines are already too high for me to spot them with ease when they reach my place…
NGL i thought the livery was for Amazon shipping.
Looklike Dolphin
Okay 😅😅😅
