- Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA. The two two NBA MVP and multiple time NBA All Star has been dominating the NBA. His ability to get to the rim with his size and athleticism is unstoppable. The Bucks at times will play Giannis at point guard and when they do it is so difficult to guard. In this video we break down why Giannis Antetokounmpo is impossible to stop when he plays point guard.

Just a perfect mix of size athleticism and talent. He might not hit a bunch of 3’s but he is top 3 most dominant players in the paint all time.

the most terrifying part is that he has recently started to develop a 3 point shot taking more attempts and converting more field goals from distance
along with the fact he is a unbelieably dominant post player if forced into the post , w a incredible post fade. i cant even phathom how teams can begin to consistently slow him down
he started to do a one legged fade away around the mid range in the last couple of games too

What most people don’t accept is he WILL get better at shooting because he works so hard at it. When he can hit a jump shot at a decent % and ft% 75-80 he will be literally indefensible and go down as the most dominant player ever. Oh yea that and a few more rings
Idk man he’s been trying to get better at 3 point shooting and ft shooting for like 5 years now. I think he might just be naturally not as good as other nba players at those two things. It obviously doesn’t hold him back that much but as a bucks fan I’ve come to accept the 65% ft and 30% 3p.

he is not one of he is the best player , playing . He has proven to be clutch when it matters most , Game 6 he did what he could to put Boston away with a monster game but Boston as a team was like 50% from 3's taken and Tatum scored alot as well along with The rest of The Bucks not playing their best. He is a big kid like Shaq and tells dad jokes but he has that "on the court killer" in him . I loved that he picked Dame first in the all star game since I have wanted them to team up so so badly , it just seems like a prefect fit but not rigged either.

Once Giannis get a respectable 3pt shot its game over for the defense.
I think even if he was an above average shooter he still gets more points per possession if he just keeps doing what he does now.
Bucks fan here (more like Yannis fan hehe). When the defense is full of strong agile bigs who arent afraid to smash their teeth on Yannis's biceps, Yannis has a real tough time penetrating the paint. There is at least one team that can do this and this is none other than the Celtics. At the end, when you have two superstars bombarding you with threes and on the other end just Yannis, things will get real tough for the Bucks. Hopefully we will break this 3p jinx we have in the playoffs and then maybe we got a shot at the title this year. Είδωμεν!
Agreed. The Celtics outside shooting scares me. With the Bucks streaky outside shooting, and how much the Celts bomb away from deep I feel the series will be decided behind the arc.

If Khris was playing that series Bucks win in Six. In closeout game 6 Giannis had 44 Points and 20 Rebounds. If Khris was playing they would have ended the series right there.
For the Series vs Boston Giannis Avg 34/15/7. Those are god tier numbers and if you think Boston shut down Giannis your simply wrong. They did successfully shut down Grayson, Brook and Bobby though. Middleton has been the Boston Strangler for year so hopefully we can get him healthy and get the Finals Rematch of Bucks vs Suns.

I dont like Giannis at point fr, he is best off ball in half-court setting, unless hes in the post. Having Jrue or Middleton be the primary ball handlers and Giannis a screen and roller opens so much for this offense. Giannis screening is like Movement pre-snap in football, everybody looks at the moving player. Giannis attracts so much attention in the pick and roll that the ball-handler either gets a free rim run, Giannis is wide open OR the help defenders commit too much on the tag that a corner shooter is wide open. When bucks are on a fast break Giannis should be the only person with the ball, he has great IQ and vision, and attacks the basket better than anybody ever probably. But in the half court set, he is much better off the ball
At the point when he decides to pass, create for others first without trying to score, it's unstoppable. Look all his game with 15 assists (especially the one vs Miami in the playoffs) he looks like a Magic /Penny type of player when he play like that

I went back and watched the Bucks game vs the Pistons where they scored 150 shooting 60+% from the field. KM came back and Giannis played off ball most of the game. Shots come easy to everyone else when Giannis is the Roll man, the help defender in the corner commits wayyy too much to try and prevent Giannis from getting to the rim, leaving corner shots open

I can't tell you how many games Giannis has had stuck on 9AST for his triple double and teammates miss shot after shot after shot. Until were down to 4 minutes and winning by 20 so he gets yanked out of the game.
Just make a wall. The Lakers did a great job of making essentially a barricade for when Giannis drives to the hoop.

It's almost as if god created a man to be the perfect size with elite athleticism to play PF. Ben Simmons was an inch taller than Giannis when drafted now Giannis towers over Ben Simmonns.

Giannis is a capable passer, but I would not call him an unstoppable point guard. He's averaging 5 assists per game but on 4 turnovers a game, not a good assist to turnover ratio. Even worse this season in the 7 games Bucks point guard Jrue was out and Giannis played PG, he has averaged 5 turnovers a game. Giannis works better in a system where he is the second or tertiary playmaker, Jrue and Middleton do a much better job handling the ball. His passing comes more from his dominance and gravity rather than IQ, so when he's forced to create for others he's not so unstoppable
You failing to realize he has a high uses rate, so his turnovers is going to be up, but you also failed to mention the fact that his teammates don’t make nearly as many shots as they should when he pass the ball to them so him only averaging five assist is lacking real context because his teammate shoots horrible percentages off of his wide open passes to them

The NBA website says the team shoots 40% from three when they're wide open. Giannis just plays better as as an off-ball screener and rolling to the basket, he doesn't have high passing IQ

It's gross but NBA make up excuses every year why he can't win a 3rd MVP but these rules don't apply to Jokic. Jokic is averaging 8 less points per game and less rebounds. SInce Jokic is averaging a triple double they won't give it to Giannis if he leads league in Rebound AND Points a feat not accomplished since Wilt Chamberlain in 1966. Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double 4 times in past ten year Jokic doing it shouldn't trump what Giannis is doing with Points and Rebounds.
