40 years ago my grandfather, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was assassinated by the Pakistani state. Today, those with no love or fidelity for his politics will give speeches in his honour. The handmaidens of his death will lay petals on his grave.
Those who love him, will remember his words. “The purpose of democracy is to bring about the flowering of society and to know the inner thoughts of the people without fear.”
