One thing I’ve come to realize, island living in the Philippines is like living in Hawaii. Everyone speaks English and yet you get the Asian/island vibe.
oouuu i would like Martin's perspective on this too...i saw that he lived in Hawaii and would like to hear the similarities/differences and if he had to choose for the rest of his life where he would stay, Hawaii vs siargao!
uglyandfat1 Living in Siargao is way cheaper including rent .. it is expensive in Hawaii the only advantage is medical care. My husband was active in the US Navy (he’s retired now) so we go to commissary for groceries & Navy Exchange to shop no tax... weather wise and beaches it’s the same.. (cleaner in Hawaii)
Ederlinda Hidalgo well you can’t compare both really... it’s like comparing Apple to a banana. Of course an Asian country would be cheaper than living in the US. But the only benefits of having US pension is you can enjoy your retirement as long as you stay out of the US or UK
Hi Ave, thank you for this new very informative video. The wait is over. I appreciate though your presence in Martin’s recent amazing vlogs. Thanks to Martin too!🤩🤙
I miss you a lot .. 😘 Thank you for this vlog ... Unlike other ( actually some of the people you & Martin knew) have very different way of showing how they life is ( its their life) i understand & its only my personal opinion... that but showing off how they eat ( ordering expensive food in expensive restaurant , alcohol drinks and their flashy apartment eating out etc.) In my opinion in this time of pandemic most of us can't afford all those things that before we usually can because of job losses ,they shouldn't posts things like that ... Sometimes people who can't afford is affected 😔... I love the way you and Martin showing that in a province like Siargao you can have happy , healthy affordable living with clean and friendly community and so inspiring for not only people who can afford but also for less fortunate or low income and seniors who's looking for a place to retire ... Thank you again for showing us simple life in beautiful Siargao 👍♥♥♥♥
We missed you!!! Finally. Awesome vlog, hopefully you'll make another vlog with actual rent prices post covid. As we are planning on visiting there as soon as this madness is over.
I'm glad Ave ur back w/ informative vlog.Watching again without skipping the ads..For Marve's future..Living in an island is more affordable & cheapier than in a city.
Avelovinit I do enjoy your positive fun videos very much. You’re living your life to fullest and it’s so nice to see. I’ll definitely be visiting siargao when I can return to the Philippines. I’m watching from the Bay Area California ✌🏽

Its good you share your experiences regarding the expenses there. Its quite expensive too. But naturally its a tourist spot there and most likely quite expensive too. Well thanks for sharing and keep on vlogging and exploring the place. Stay happy and be safe always lovely couple.
Yeah quite some time missing your vlog 😘 and here it comes beautifully😍 thanks for the info looking forward to another vlog and activities of you both much love from Colorado ❤️
I was there on a vacation in 2019 and I connected with the island not so much because I am a big wave surfer and I didn't see much of that in March but the people and the laid back atmosphere was amazing even though I was in the general Luna area it was exciting among the tourist and great night life and foods. My next trip I will stay in the Pacifico area and go fishing God willing this pendemic subsides soon. Enjoy the island you guys rock😀
It looks nice. It’s probably a good spot for a retired lady in her seventh-is to come for a year. Looked at a few options but there are to many expat men live there. Since I am not not looking for a relationship just enjoying the simple life that would be my place. See when the border opens up again.
I love this vlog Ave...specially the cooking portion I sure missed it! Can you plz do some cooking vlog at least once a week/month? 😄😋 Martin sounds tipsy towards the end when saying goodbye...Stay safe guys! 🥰👍
I missed you and Martin soo much ❤️ You always give me those positive vibes which I need very much during these times in my life ✨❤️😍 Thank you for sharing with us the costs of living in Siargao Island, it's very helpful for lots of people 🦑🐚🖤
My husband and I wanted to buy a land there but it's very expensive. It's overprice comparing the per sq meter in Hawaii or here in the US. 2 acres and a Colonial house here in NH worth $358K and comparing there it's less than 2 acres plus house is not included. One of the cause of increased were foreigners or corporate buying the land and reselling on higher price. It's sad a Filipino can't even afford to buy a land. Most of the land there starts 5k , 10k, 25k, 35k pesos per sq meter.
@@babysullano7486 Kung 10k / sq meter mahal pa rin. For 1,000 sq meters is 10,000 mil pesos which is maliit lang ang lot. As a buyer maliit siya. It's very discouraging to buy. I'm considering buying somewhere else.
@@annmarie3874 1,000sqm. Is wide enough, you can build already lots of kubo's, if you're on business, Magpupungko is a tourist spot area with a scenic Sand beach

It’s pretty cheap for a $100/week including utilities for a big western like house in a paradise! Good job for the interesting info! And nice to watch a wonderful couple teaming up!
It suits you well, Ave- the islander. I just love how well you present your story. No pretensions. You tell it as it is. I love how you and Martin interact. I miss Martin’s short hair- gupit binata. Will visit Siargao after the pandemic because of your vlogs.
