One theory is that season 3 will be in 1985 and the big movie then was “Back to the Future”. Perhaps they will somehow incorporate time travel into the upside-down or a new Lab? And if they bring back “8” I hope they loose her band of criminal misfits. And YES, Stranger Things is one of the best written, produced and directed tv series I’ve seen in a long, long time.

I don't think those are good arguments for Billy being gay. For instance, in the 1980s, many males wore their hair like that and wore makeup, especially eyeliner. This was the decade that gave birth to hair/glam rock. Heterosexual males wore eyeshadow, teased hair, tight jeans etc. He actually looks exactly like young 80s Rob Lowe. The only thing that may be questionable is him getting too close to Steve in the shower scene, but everything other than that is typical of the 80s.

But none of them have come across such human brutality and evil, fucking psychotic joy in hurting others, not even with brenner and co., who were just cold. None of them were prepared, except for max, and consequently none of them knew what to do and were maybe the closest we've seen any of them to panic.
People saying that have probably led very violent lives. I've seen grown people freeze like that at the sight of an all-out fist fight. It's not something that easy to react to as a third party. At best, they probably could've looked for something to throw at him but I understand how they couldn't even do that.

I agree with the explanation theory that the creature mind flare feeds off the negative emotions of humanity and it got into the world through the emotions of the children and possibly the adults as well because if we think back to the first season the creature entity broke through to the human world during the scene where Eleven/Jane became upset while inside the sensory deprivation tank so yeah I think that definitely seems more than likely true 👍
Ye, the upside down is apparently an echo of the material plane, so I assume almost anything could be "echoed" there imperfectly. Just in the way that you see the buildings and roads etc. in the upside down, but they are in a state of decay because the atmosphere is toxic and corrosive. You could imagine that emotion somehow manifests there too. I think you are on the right track but it's not the emotion of the kids in Hawkins that is driving the Mind Flayer, it has something to do with Max. I mean they dropped hints of that everywhere. She arrived in town right as the Mind Flayer shows up. Like literally Hopper asks the Pumpkin farmer if he was sure all the pumpkins were all OK the day before. That's the same day as Max starts school after coming to Hawkins. It's the day after they were at the arcade when Will first sees the signs of the Mind Flayer when he crosses over (he sees the storms it generates but not the mind flayer itself yet until later). Max has the top score on Dig Dug, and Dig Dug is a foreshadowing of the tunneling under Hawkins (episode 5 is even called Dig Dug). She also seems to have some kind of fixation on "stalking" and stalkers, she uses the word repeatedly as if its constantly on her mind, like she feels she is being stalked all the time (because she is). Billy seems to have an irrational hatred for anyone who gets near Max, like he is being influenced to keep people away from her. Both times that the Mind Flayer interacted with Will when he crossed over (trick or treating and at the school), Max is present. So the Mind Flayer could be staying close to her all the time. Even the end seems to hint at it. She has a totally unexpected kiss with Lucas right before El and Mike, then we flip upside down and see the Mind Flayer staring intently and angrily into the school. The music playing? The Police - Every Breath You Take, which just happens to be a song about a stalker. The last lyrics we hear from the song before we go upside down (and hear them echoed for the record) is "Oh can't you see? You belong to me!". The gate is closed and Will was exorcised, so the Mind Flayer has no spies left and no way to creep into the material plane (real world)... so how does he know where they all are? Because he is somehow linked to Max and followed her, or her family, all the way from California to Hawkins, where he found a nice convenient open gate and an interdimension travelling boy to possess. That's the theory anyway. It makes sense simply because Max doesn't seem to have any other role other than to be a love interest for two of the boys. Even the fact that they made her a new arrival to town, rather than introducing another girl who already lived in Hawkins, hints at her importance.
Recommendation for a new show reaction: Peaky Blinders. It’s one of the best shows you’ll ever watch. And Cillian Murphy is the star of the show, so of course it’s good.
What if the Upside Down is Earth in the future. This explains why the Upside Down looks like it got hit by a nuke and it could explain how the shadow monster was created.

"You have a festering wound inside of you..." - Papa The reason 11 can close the gate is because it is her wound. It was her mind that created everything in an attempt to rescue her. Next season we will see her and Will grow close as they puzzle out what created it all. Meanwhile we will see the return of Papa or other "loyal" powered people as the antagonists with the dimensional horrors coming to 11's aid. At least that's my prediction.
I think the shadow monster is in the upside down following Eleven. It's having aspirations of what it could do if it could possess her the way it possessed Wil.
My stranger things theory is that the upside down is the future, and the mind flayer and demogorgons are aliens that seize the earth and kill everyone. In the first season when Joyce and Hopper go to the upside down to find will, the place where Will was also had a bunch of other skulls and bones, suggesting that there were/will be many more people being taken by the demogorgon(s). The upside down also has a lot of things that regular Hawkins only recently put up; so it seems like the catastrophe that happened in the upside down either was already supposed to happen but Eleven and the gang stopped it, or it’s going to happen very soon.
It was said somewhere that next season will be almost uncomfortably personal with all of the characters and mostly about character development! I'm excited af
I had not thought of that being the case for Billy but it's definitely possible, the character could be going through some self hatred and or shame issues from having to hide who he is from his cruel abusive father and society, perhaps this is partially why Billy is so mean to other's such as Steve.
He doesn't even have to be like 100% gay, he could be bi or otherwise *somewhere* on the "spectrum," but there's definitely that sense he's not the full on red blooded heterosexual American boy his dad demands he be.

why does the internet try to add dimensions to characters that aren't there? the billy thing is mostly likely not true. nothing in his short dialogue suggest that. he's a teenage boy filled with anger due to his abusive father in which he blames max for everything (cause he can't blame her mom, because his dad left his mom). nothing to do with him, it's his attitude, and his dad doesn't want him the fuck it up for him. the shower scene was an alpha move "am all in your shit, making you feel uncomfortable, and less than a man". they did that in 80s movies. now if that theory does come true will y'all hate season 3, cause the theory was off. that seems to be the thing now.

The Billy theory: i literally thought the shower scene was when it was gonna come out. Got slightly confused afterwards but I'm with the theory. It feels a lot like his father puts him down about it so he's ashamed and tries to over compensate. Also if you remember, the Max/Him were arguing about moving and she said it was his fault they had to move. This show does a really good job of showing a "bad guy" then next season they redeem him, remember Steve? I think they might've had to move because Billy did something gay, hence his father's hate and etc.
For Stranger Things 3, if the Papa character is indeed still alive, I believe we can get the history & science of the upside down through his character. They can tell through his character, the history & the science behind it all, it would be a great way to intro season 3.
I’m so excited to see elevens powers in season 5! As it’s been said that she’s never shown her true potential due to damage to her memories etc. I think she’s going to be epic! It’s said that her and vecna are connected biologically and that eleven is supposed to be just as powerful as vecna but because of her trauma she lost some of it
BBBRRENNNT they watch so many shows and have to edit them all, all while still having normal jobs and stuff plus they have a schedule that they stick to, so for instance they watched episode 8 & 9 back to back but released episode 8 last week and even if they had episode 9 edited and ready to go, they still wait till the next week to put it out.

She also seems to have some kind of fixation on "stalking" and stalkers, she uses the word repeatedly as if its constantly on her mind, like she feels she is being stalked all the time (because she is). Billy seems to have an irrational hatred for anyone who gets near Max, like he is being influenced to keep people away from her. Both times that the Mind Flayer interacted with Will when he crossed over (trick or treating and at the school), Max is present. So the Mind Flayer could be staying close to her all the time.
Even the end seems to hint at it. She has a totally unexpected kiss with Lucas right before El and Mike, then we flip upside down and see the Mind Flayer staring intently and angrily into the school. The music playing? The Police - Every Breath You Take, which just happens to be a song about a stalker. The last lyrics we hear from the song before we go upside down (and hear them echoed for the record) is "Oh can't you see? You belong to me!". The gate is closed and Will was exorcised, so the Mind Flayer has no spies left and no way to creep into the material plane (real world)... so how does he know where they all are? Because he is somehow linked to Max and followed her, or her family, all the way from California to Hawkins, where he found a nice convenient open gate and an interdimension travelling boy to possess.
That's the theory anyway. It makes sense simply because Max doesn't seem to have any other role other than to be a love interest for two of the boys. Even the fact that they made her a new arrival to town, rather than introducing another girl who already lived in Hawkins, hints at her importance.
Recommendation for a new show reaction:

The reason 11 can close the gate is because it is her wound. It was her mind that created everything in an attempt to rescue her. Next season we will see her and Will grow close as they puzzle out what created it all. Meanwhile we will see the return of Papa or other "loyal" powered people as the antagonists with the dimensional horrors coming to 11's aid.
At least that's my prediction.

My stranger things theory is that the upside down is the future, and the mind flayer and demogorgons are aliens that seize the earth and kill everyone. In the first season when Joyce and Hopper go to the upside down to find will, the place where Will was also had a bunch of other skulls and bones, suggesting that there were/will be many more people being taken by the demogorgon(s). The upside down also has a lot of things that regular Hawkins only recently put up; so it seems like the catastrophe that happened in the upside down either was already supposed to happen but Eleven and the gang stopped it, or it’s going to happen very soon.

Me too. I never thought about it before, but it makes a lot of sense.
I have a feeling that his father caught him with another boy, and he now just feels contempt for his own son which is why he treats him so poorly.
I had not thought of that being the case for Billy but it's definitely possible, the character could be going through some self hatred and or shame issues from having to hide who he is from his cruel abusive father and society, perhaps this is partially why Billy is so mean to other's such as Steve.
I hope so. That's the only way he'll be somewhat kinda sorta redeemable to me. And I want him to be redeemable because I love dacre so much.
He doesn't even have to be like 100% gay, he could be bi or otherwise *somewhere* on the "spectrum," but there's definitely that sense he's not the full on red blooded heterosexual American boy his dad demands he be.

I have two theories for ST. Season 3
1-Season3 will be the last season the Duffer Brothers have said they don't want to extend beyond their story. Maybe it will end similar to season 1 Eleven will sacrifice herself to save Mike!!
2-Or they will extend it by introducing new numbers maybe Brenner sends a spy to the high school or Kali comes back for Eleven to warn her about brenner. I just have a feeling papa will come back for El!!!

why does the internet try to add dimensions to characters that aren't there? the billy thing is mostly likely not true. nothing in his short dialogue suggest that. he's a teenage boy filled with anger due to his abusive father in which he blames max for everything (cause he can't blame her mom, because his dad left his mom). nothing to do with him, it's his attitude, and his dad doesn't want him the fuck it up for him. the shower scene was an alpha move "am all in your shit, making you feel uncomfortable, and less than a man". they did that in 80s movies. now if that theory does come true will y'all hate season 3, cause the theory was off. that seems to be the thing now.

The Billy theory: i literally thought the shower scene was when it was gonna come out. Got slightly confused afterwards but I'm with the theory. It feels a lot like his father puts him down about it so he's ashamed and tries to over compensate.
Also if you remember, the Max/Him were arguing about moving and she said it was his fault they had to move.

I’m so excited to see elevens powers in season 5! As it’s been said that she’s never shown her true potential due to damage to her memories etc. I think she’s going to be epic! It’s said that her and vecna are connected biologically and that eleven is supposed to be just as powerful as vecna but because of her trauma she lost some of it

BBBRRENNNT they watch so many shows and have to edit them all, all while still having normal jobs and stuff plus they have a schedule that they stick to, so for instance they watched episode 8 & 9 back to back but released episode 8 last week and even if they had episode 9 edited and ready to go, they still wait till the next week to put it out.
