Honestly I feel like that certain days and I m despirate for the drink then I feel.zane after the first zip. I once drove to a coffee shop.and cried after I found out it was closed!
I work with I guy that says expresso. I make myself very clear when I say ESPRESSO just so he would understand. Once I noticed that he said it I couldn’t stop hearing him say it :/
@@mysterybuyer3738 not really lol. Long orders hold everything up, not a complicated drink. Done it for five years, team has good memorization skills, fast and accurate..you can have 4 complicated drinks and get them right. They like what they like lol. Dont wanna make it thats them. Ik i get a nice fat tip🤣every time🤷🏽♀️ or they specifically want me to do it. I keep $20 and we’re all happy
Lol I loved ur video. My teenage son ( american) believe it or not usually orders black coffee with shot of expresso for here 😛❤my handsome boy and plays the piano by the way homeschooled. ( I prefer green match cold or hot)
TRUE! i hate making pour-overs at work though.... takes so much time, and we're always understaffed so it's a pain to pull myself or another barista away to focus on just standing there slowly pouring water... while a line of people & drinks & food starts building up...
Sometimes I just look at people and when they say flat white and ask “you sure you don’t just want a latte?” And I show them the size and they’re like “oh yeah thanks”
The complex customer acts like the manager who expects perfection. Is by the book and makes your life a nightmare if you don't do it their way since they think they are always right.
Yup! I also find that this is the kind of customer that stares at you the entire time you are preparing their drink. He's just waiting for you to mess up so he can complain.
Oh man, we had a crazy Purple Eye at ours that would order a venti 12 shot Americano. Was surprised the dude could even put together coherent sentences.
As a fellow barista, if you ask really nicely, they will happily reinform you of what they want. I also usually read/repeat back to the customer their drink and slowly to ensure they are able to correct any mistakes on my part!
Just became a barista, at the time of watching this, I have worked 3 shifts. Does learning all the drinks ever get easier? I cant find most things on the POS, let alone make any of them. Should I know this stuff by now?
Ok it bothers me when people think “regular” coffee is an actual term for coffee. It’s not. It’s called drip coffee or filtered coffee. In Australia and Italy espresso is their standard for coffee . Then there’s a macchiato, cappuccino, latte (depending on how much milk you want) in America most of us grow up drinking drip coffee but if you go to a coffee shop you have to know that there’s several different brew methods and YES they are all (real) coffee.
I'd say I'm more like the pour over, if I'm new to the shop, for instance if it's not a Starbucks where I have my go-to's (the usual suspects), but always switch it up between a Vanilla Cafe Frappe, Green Tea Smoothie-in the Spring and Summer/ or a Latte in the colder months. I always love trying something new, and if something catches my eye on the menu, I'll see what it's like. Thing is I try and be prompt when ordering (to be courteous of their time and those waiting in line), being very polite, give the Barista my full attention-not talking on my phone, always remember to give a tip (I used to work in Food Service and restaurants), try to keep my order easy and basic (that one guy who likes his coffee a certain temp and wants this milk and that milk, plus a shot of something, wtf. I cannot even.) Sorry to you guyes who have to serve most of these types of people: those whom think, that the world...and the coffee bean... revolves around them...
Christina, you sound like an amazing customer, get over here! haha! Thanks for the response, we love ALL our customers, even the ones who speak a million mph and roll their eyes at us :-)
so im a purple eyes? i just like coffe damn ppl need to stop the sissyness 3 cups of expresso aint shit pfff u guys need to go to italy to see real coffe on a plaza! hahahaha
3 shots of espresso on top of 16oz coffee, now that is one strong drink! Thx for watching, I try to get to as much as possible to drink the real thing (usually the Veneto!) - Jason Bridges
RIGHT on the money. The complex is the worst kind for me. The speed at which they say their drink matches how superior they feel to everyone else.
Why is this comment ON THE MONEY! This is so legit that I’m scared haha 👌
Oh boy those kind of people as cashiers ! They say thank u have a good day all super fast before they finish checking your last item! Lol
Hearing the complex guys order actually made me anxious
😂🤣

@@NantucketBikeTours I brought my thermometer, so don't think I won't complain!
Oof, the complex customers really do stay testing my restraint. I got heated just listening to him lol
this video is so well done and well edited. There should seriously be more views.
Thank you, it was a lot of hard work. We wanted to show the idiosyncrasies of today's coffee customers but not be offensive or snobby. :-)
That's soo professionalally done you never would know by the thumbnail
Agreed.
Knowing people by drink is true!!
I'm a barista in training. The purple eye is my boss. (He put a drink on the menu with 6 shots in it.)

eSpresso. not eXpresso. for the love of god.
Think I actually dropped an "expresso" in the purple eye character, totally my bad cause I KNOW BETTER! good catch! -Jason

People should not be able to order complicated drinks. It's just stupid and makes them look like morons.
That’s kinda the point of a barista or a speciality shop
And I should be able to get what I want if im payin $10😏

So PRO!
‘Can I have a flat white?’ Makes one ‘omg why is it so small?’ It’s a standard size. ‘Not where I got it in other places.’ Sure Linda.

I’m the pour over person (except I know what it is and I always order it) in fact I also make pour over at home, it’s my favorite way to brew coffee.
If I ever get to go to Nantucket I will definitely find this place! ❤️☕️❤️
Please find us, and we'll take 2 orders of creativity please!
