    this video has been incredibly helpful. My son got some speed cubes for Christmas and my daughter messed up the windmill cube immediately so I had to figure out how to solve it. (I've never solved a standard 3x3 except by taking it apart and reassembling lol) the white and yellow sides are reversed from yours which I found interesting. The logo printed on it is Chinese and according to google translate translates to "Fancy Art"

    Holy crap that trick with the alignment of the middle layer's center was just the thing I needed to avoid utter insanity trying to get my cube solved. I have a gold windmirror cube so instead of colors I have different sizes to deal with and that was driving me crazy with so little coverage of that cube on yt

    i've triumphed over the 3x3x3, 2x2x2, pyraminx, diamond sqube, 2x2x4 box, and the windmill cube, i still have the final battles of megaminx and the 4x4x4 to attend, on the following morrows, i will receive care packages to defend against the black magic cube and another shape shifting cube i've yet to come to terms with, may the Lord Rubik's protect the righteous with many algorithms against the evil axis and their ignorance of Hungarian toy makers

    For the record you can do this like a 3x3 excluding orienting the centers when making the cross. When you solve the last 3 centers of the last layer just turn it in the wrong direction and it flips the center upside down. Then solve it in the right direction and it will solve the centers of the last layer and flip the last center you did back upright

    Your beginning was very encouraging...saying it's basically a 3x3. I can do the 3x3, the mirror, fisher, and some others without any problem. So I a was happy to hear you do the Windmill...like a 3x3. Then the shock: You decided, for what reason ever, to begin with yellow instead of white. Basically there is no (mathematical) reason to start with any color, but when making tutorials, especially for beginners, it's a good idea to keep the rule to begin with white. I am just learning Fridrich, and to get color-neutral. But learning a new puzzle, starting with yellow, is too much for me now. My brain is still on top of my head, and not under my feet :-)

    • @daniellee560
      @daniellee560  5 років тому

      I'm sorry that you feel that way; the algorithms I show here only work in the middle layer if you start with the yellow side, and that was how I was taught. I also always start with white on every other cube but this one, but once i learned the moves, it made no difference where I started with this one.

    • @tanyabaron6143
      @tanyabaron6143 3 роки тому

      My cube seems to be reversed so these algorithms work if I use them and solve it white side up. On your cube, when you hold it yellow side up, the side pieces are short-long. Mine, when I hold it fellow side up, is long-short. So it really does make a difference! I spent ages trying to use a different set of algorithms before I realized my problem.
