We were covering Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” while on tour all summer. When we had the chance to do this session at Ship-Rec Studios in Los Angeles we thought it would be the perfect song because it’s so fun to play live! We are big fans of Billie and Finneas’s songwriting... What a breath of fresh air for music! Here it is captured live in one take, we hope we did it justice.

I have no idea what the Umbrella Academy is, but anything that exposes people to great music is good by me. You guys should check out their other stuff. A lot of it has this second-wave ska feel. It's really great.
Also, love the Madness reference by the guitar player!
By second wave do you mean 2 tone? There is no type of ska referred to as "second wave".

1. Skatalites - "Trojan" ska, named after the label is original Jamaican inspired ska.
2. Madness - 2 tone was born in the UK and took influences from Jamaican ska.
3. Mighty Mighty Bosstones, No Doubt, Sublime - The third wave was the 3rd time ska came to the limelight. Late 80s, early 90s.
Bonus round is ska-core, ska and punk mixed, Random Hand, Dirty Revolution, Beng Beng Cocktail are all bands in this sub-genre.

@@sergioaguirre2700 And a good thing he did too. The soundtrack establishes the quirkiness and overall bizarreness of the show from the second it starts. Well the first scene/monologue did that but the soundtrack did that even further. Only one show can have a 58 year old assassin stuck in a 13 year old body with his mannequin lover running from two hit man all while “Don’t stop me now” was playing. And only one show can have two civil rights protesters, one with the ability to manipulate people’s decisions fighting two Swedish assassins who stormed into there house while “Everybody” is playing. I mean lmfao. In my opinion.
Couldn’t think of a better band to cover this. Aimee’s voice is perfect for this!

They fill the sound out well on it's own, the subtly horn section works but it's not vital imo. The melody is so much better in a ska format.

Try Brownout when they do their Brown Sabbath tunes. It's Black Sabbath with a massive Latino funk twist and added brass. They are really good and well worth a listen if you like added trombones.
I'm an old guy (56) who grew up on the two tone movement, loving The Specials, The Selector, Madness, Bad Manners. I even have a skanking Rudy tat on my arm. This cover harkens back to those days, fantastic! Heard the song in TUA an was like holy shit!

I saw them in cologne as an opening act for green day. The whole crowd was like "wft who's this?" But then they started playing. Everyone loved it and started going crazy. I'm a fan since this day.
Honey Brew exactly the same with me when Green Day played in Manchester in Feb 2017. Had never heard of them before they stepped onto the stage and as soon as they started playing I fell in love and haven’t stopped listening to them since.

I don't think you understand what a trillion is. This song is not _that_ much better. I'm not even sure it _is_ better, just different. I actually prefer the original synth chorus over the trombone version, but the trombone _is_ good too. The only thing I prefer about this version is they left off the stupid ending of the song, which I didn't think was very good on the original.
They gave life and soul to this song, the original is just too boring and bland.
