At 3:14 you mention the German Pacific Fleet , perhaps this anomaly comes from the idea that von Spee intended to return to Germany across the Pacific Ocean and around Tierra del Fuego and into the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately for him he ran into the British at the Battle of the Falkland Is. so this is incorrect as the German Fleet based at Tsingtau was designated "The East Asiatic Squadron"

There is a more complete history yet to be written about the life-span of HMAS Sydney (1) - the ship was much much more than its fight with the Emden. It spent much of WW1 in the Caribean, making sure there was no sanctions-busting shipping by Germany acquiring "stuff" from the (then) neutral USA. It went on to have a fight with a Zeppelin in the North Sea in 1917 - the ship and the Zeppelin both ran out of anti-aircraft ammunition/bombs (respectively). Lt-Commander Eric Kingsford - Smith wrote an amazing diary of Sydney steaming with HMAS Melbourne during these periods.

Von Muller did not just "take off" At the outbreak of war, 4th August, Muller had returned to Tsingtau with the Russian prize "Ryaezan" ( captured 4th August ) and converted her into an armed merchantman, renaming her Cormoran 2. They were to meet von Spee at the German Island of Pagan( in the Marianas) . von Mulle received a written order from von Spee," you are hereby allocated the Markomannia and will be detached with the task of entering the Indian Ocean and waging cruiser warfare as best you can"
