Your scale did move. You lost fat and then gained muscle so it canceled out. But your bf percentage is probably lower now.

The best thing I ever did was stop relying on the scale and start taking measurements. My scale weight didn’t budge for over 6 months, but everyone kept saying they could see that I was losing weight. I lost 5 inches from my belly and hips during that time…… if I would have been solely relying on the scale, I would have given up from lack of progress!

trust the process. i did omad for 1 year. i lose weight but i was miserable. i started strength training while on omad and i dont feel good. i increased my calories and ate more frequently and thats when i started to feel stronger, energized, and the weight started to go down. i stopped giving my self a deadline to make it sustainable

Love this advice - also brought tears to my eyes! Reversing dieting CHANGED my entire relationship with food, exercise and recovery. I resonate with this caller so much after I went on my first diet for my Grade 8 graduation and lived in a constant state of under-eating and over-exercising for 30 years! Ugh! I reverse dieted for 6 months when it was first introduced to me - and, it was a GAME-CHANGER! I am so excited for this caller - there is a way through all of this for you!

Omg! I really needed to see this today! I've been dieting since I was 11 as well and I can't eat more than 1600 cal per day without gaining weight and was thinking if I should reverse, because my muscles aren't growing at all. Thank you!

I’m happy to see this example! It hit me hard last year. I wasn’t more than 10lbs overweight starting in June (2023) as whole foods were my focus. Insulin resistance hit me hard even focusing on high protein and exercises 5 days a week. My waistline got bigger and I looked pregnant. I focused on performance and weighed myself every two weeks.
I was eating around 2-2200 calories a day.
I did a gut test and need an allergy test. However starting keto released my female hormones from prison. I felt great 😂.
My point is if I’m gaining 3-5 lbs a month and stronger it wasn’t worth the risk to keep going. I weighed 150 in March and 186 in November. Some people just have insulin resistance even eating whole foods and should be checked out by getting a “gut zoomer” test done. ❤

I am so grateful you guys popped up on youtube. I don't know why I forgot when you exercise, and lift weights you will gain weight. I was so bummed out yesterday thinking what am I doing wrong. But I am on the right path. I eat super healthy. New subscriber. There was just something I wasn't getting, because I felt like defeated. Now I get it. Eventually I will drop the weight, patience is key.

I have been weight training 3-5 times a week, play recreational hockey 2 times a week and Im trying to take in 170-175 grams of protein a day. Im 60 yrs old, 5 ft 8 inches, 220 lbs. Wow this clip was an eye opener for me! I knew I had a bad relationship with food that started when I was 9 years old but I had no idea my dieting is the cause of my body holding onto fat. I swear this caller was telling my story...verbatim...I was crushing the gym and then starving myself and only eating 1200 calories and the scale would not move. I would like the know if the 2400 calories you threw out there for the caller to try was based on anything or if I should just base my calories on my current weight?

What I’d like to know is how much muscle can I actually put on at 60 yrs old. (Woman). I’ve been lifting for 30 yrs. Competed bodybuilding, fitness, etc…. Until having 3 major back surgeries. Did nothing at all for 5 yrs. I am very thin, but lost my muscle. Well, a lot of it. Started training again 8 months ago. Should I expect my abs will ever return to what they were? Biceps? Legs? I was ripped prior. I’m just having trouble with expectations.

45 yrs old. Dexa scan 44% bf, I’m not obese. I actually have a great shape. Muscle mass is good. I lift 3x a week. Have a trainer for last 6 months, walk 6-7 k steps a day. I follow Macros, 1450 calories, high protein. 5ft tall, weigh 140lbs. Why is my BF so high. 🤷🏽‍♀️It’s like it doesn’t move at all. In fact my muscle mass and BF have gone up over the last 5 yrs. It’s so frustrating!!! My win is strength but I feel helpless with BF. People often think it has to be wrong.

Same thing I said in the comment below; focus on building muscle. It's common to hit a wall and try to scale it by increasing cardio but also just focus on eating healthy. Forget calories and just build muscle. You'll feel better and move better and then when you do decrease your calories, it won't be done miniscule amount it'll be at a decent amount where you can still eat good and comfortably continue with your goal

The first thing that immediately comes to my mind is that when I was 185 pounds (man) and lifting weights every single day seven days a week… I cut my calories to 1500 to lose weight. I did that for weeks with only one exception per week where I ate a little over 2000. Let me tell you it worked great. I think perhaps she needs to just cut some more calories and deal with being hungry.

She needs to look at her genetics. I bet she is naturally inclined to insulin resistance and so the traditional macros of higher carb, low fat don’t help. This is beyond the calories. She could eat more calories and higher protein but lower carb, higher fat would send a different signal especially since she is under-muscled and over dieted.

May she has sleep apnea? Cause that slows your metabolism truely down and blocks a lot the potential for burning fat. And as she is clearly overweighted, it woulb be possible.

You said you had hormones testes, make sure it a "FULL" thyroid panel my wife had undiagnosed Hashimoto's for over 25 years because the basic test will not catch it. Then I know channels like this trash it but research carnivore try it for a few months worse case scenario you enjoy a bunch of steak.

I’m a 62 yo woman 5’2” 120 lbs with hypothyroidism. I’ve dieted since I was around 11 years old. I currently gain weight if I eat more than 1,100 calories per day and I’m active but can’t gain muscle. This is so hard!! I am too scared to reverse diet!!🥹
