making me homesick. Heading back in a month. Try Lydia's up Wickenburg Way over by CVS great food and super friendly. For a great ghost tour get a hold of Madam Maria dresses the part and has great stories of the old town. The mannequins that you are walking by actually have a button that tells a story.

I grew up in this town in the 70s and 80s, it used to be an actual working ranch town, I used to work on one of those Ranch's now its just a Big tourist attraction, 90% of the residents that grew up there have all but moved away, the property taxes have probably increased by 70%, and it's filled up with Californians of which is one of the reason for the massive increase in real-estate and taxes , when I retired a few years ago I wanted to retire in Wickenburg, when I researched the property costs it was unaffordable on a fixed income, so I retired in the Great state of Tennessee, and it's not filled up here with a bunch of Californians trying to kill our state like there did with Cali. now there going to mess up Arizona, Back when I lived there it was a great town, now as you see when you walk thru you see all that pretty landscaping and curbs and sidewalks, well all that costs a lot of money, did not have all that back then, that is why it was an affordable town to reside in, not now, funny the folks that grew up there as a kid can't even afford to buy a home there, there is maybe a small handful of friends that I grew up with that still live there, but there rest are all scattered every where else, just for an acre of land there around 90 to 95 grand, and that was 8, 9 years ago, and that's with no utilities on it, no bargain then anymore, and during the summer time the town practically rolls up there side walks, and just shut's down, at least they have a DENNY"S a few years ago the towns people at least the ones that still work for a living wanted a WALMART in the town, well the town board members said, no!! they thought it would attract an unsavory type of people , so that was the end of that, Too touristy for me, used to be a good town, now they just have traffic circles and a HWY, that circumvents the town, and that hurts a lot of Businesses, they actually wanted to build that Road that avoids downtown when I lived there, but the current Businesses owners at the time argued by diverting the traffic around the town as opposed through it will kill there business, well as you see they finally did it and the downtown shops now suffer, yea I'm venting because I used to like this town a lot, now it's more concerned about attracting tourists then taking care of the residents, that live there year round like my family did, my Mother lived there over 40 years then finally basically was forced out due to the rising cost's associated with trying to live there,
