2 videos in 3 days is most definitely a personal record! Not a full video essay so no jimbulus, but instead I’d like to ask you all a question: do you guys like this in depth character analysis format? If you do, what characters or games would you want to see covered? If not, what do you think could be improved on?
Definitely, even if it's for a game I don't play this is still very interesting.
I'd love to see an episode on C.Viper (Specifically SF4 not MvC3) , she's basically a KOF character in a Street Fighter game and I love her to bits
Would definitely love to see a video on Big Band from Skullgirls, or just a video on the Killer Instinct reboot

@@eddventure6214 If there's not enough material for a full video on her, doing one video for all of the KOF-esque characters in that game (+El Fuerte and Abel) could be an option too, but I'd LOVE to see a full analysis on just Viper. Looking forward to whatever you cover next🙇🏻♀️

ALL SAMSHO CHARACTERS ARE SICKEST
Back when I was first picking up this game, none of the characters were really clicking with me, none of them really feeling right, until I found Yoshitora. Immediately his options started making sense and feeling natural, and when I learned about his win condition, I started getting a better sense of all of his buttons.
He's easily my favorite character to play in the game now, and I'm glad to see someone more knowledgeable on the title go into detail on why that is.
This game is so fun, I just wish it had rollback
Yeah, it’s netcode is bad even for delay based standards which sucks :(

The SamSho series made me give a 2nd chance to fighting games and actually like them. I havent played the 2019 one yet (too expensive in my country) but the older ones are wonderful games.

I’m not sure if I remember this correctly, but his SSM straight-up gives him the ‘I Win Now’ sword because he uses all of them in the cutscene hit. Granted hitting an SSM is hard to do unless your opponent dropped their controller or, like you demonstrated in the video, get a guard break.
I loved this video a lot, SamSho deserves more love. I’m excited for the rollback patch next year!

The first time I saw Yoshitora in Samurai Shodown 5 I fell in love with him. I'm nowhere even decent at fighting games, but his style is fuckin' impeccable. I never played vs other people, but when I played him in the campaign I would invariably go for the seventh sword (once I learned what it was, after looking up his moveset) in every round. It's such a cool concept.

The game and DLC go on sale fairly often, actually. PSN had the game and all three season passes for a grand total of $34.
So in the old samsho he is in I picked him by accident I was mad then I feel in love with his moves.

Are there other characters like him with a goal where you have to do some actions to unlock an attack or ability?
Check out Susanoo from BlazBlue, probably the most important to a character this idea has been! Susanoo has a bunch of unlockable specials and his gameplan revolves around getting the ones he needs as quick as possible

I always loved Samsho on FC2 and really like the look of this game. I wish it got a rollback update so I could play it in my barren country.

HI! Just found your channel (the archetypes video) and wanted to ask - do you have any good suggestions for a free fighting game? I know of Fantasy Strike, but that is (reasonably) toned down for people new to the genre, but now I want to see for real if fighting games are for me, and I can't find any good options :( Also nice videos man keep it up :D
I wish you explained the Samurai showdown stuff, "IB"ing and stuff like that
IB is a somewhat universal term, it just means instant blocking. Usually means you press the block button within a tight window before getting hit, and you get rewards like more meter or less blockstun depending on the game
The only other game specific thing he mentioned were weapon throws, which are basically your super moves that you get access to once your meter (Rage) is filled. They do whatever the super is, and at the end the opponent has their weapon removed and thrown to a random part of the screen if the super hit

Ah samurai showdown a game that had so much potential to bea main stage contender, but was absolutely butchered by company mismanagement I swear its almost like they wanted this game to fail.
