This guy never ever received the recognition that he duly deserved. A prodigious talent of immense quality who is up there with the top rated jazz piano artists. A terrible loss to the jazz world but will be remembered for eternity.
Bobby never received his just recognition because he preferred to play golf rather than music. He was like a brother to me and he and I shared a shit load of experiences over the many years we were friends. Music fueled his almost addictive need to play golf, which he was equally good at. I loved bobby as my brother and was amazed each and every time he sat down at a piano. There will never be a better Jazz piano player than him. He was better than Tatum, Monk, Peterson and all the others that people say he tried to copy. Bobby studied them all and took the best of each of them and developed his own style which was miles ahead of them all. I took Bobby down to Australia for about 6 months back in the 80's and we had a ball playing all of the Australian jazz joints. The nights were long, the booze was plentiful and music was tremendous, but all my dear friend wanted to do, was play golf. God Love him. You are all correct, bobby left us way too soon. What music of his is still around and you can get it on Crescendo Music and a lot of it is on You Tube. Emily is by far, the best piece Bobby ever played and most definitely my favourite. He was equally accomplished on Bongo's, Xylophone and any other instrument that he picked up. A Man Among Men, of that their was no doubt.
@@michaelmcdermott7581 Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. He wrote a piece, I believe for George Benson, called Lady Barbara, but I’ve never been able to find the sheet music. Would you know if he ever transcribed any of his pieces?
Gracias Amigo! / Maraming Salamat! Sadly! Even here in the Philippines, not everyone appreciate this kind of musicality. Many are immerse in mainstream music from the west and in Kpop rather than this.
@@bjap1563 gracias por tu respuesta. I hope you can understand the sentence I wrote in Spanish, to be honest there are many countries in Asia I want to visit, and the Philippines is one on the list.
Emily, one of the best song composed. Bobby Enriquez rendered his best, the music in his fingertips deeply toward our human senses. This two artists the composer.and the pianist entertained us.Very talented personalities. Thanks a million. wherever you are right now!
This is the soundtrack from the movie "The Americanization of Emily", heard this song for the first time while watching. This is, for me, the best jazz rendition of this song. Marvelous! Thanks for the upload.
Thank you so much for uploading this pie ce from the late and one and only "wild man" Bobby Enriquez. I have been looking for this ever since I heard it on Citylite 88.3 FM (in Manila) back in the 80s... Just awe inspiring the way he plays with the ivories. Can't get enough of listening to it over and over. It's just beautiful and soothing to one's ears! Thank you so much for this...
I explorr music mainly international, just trying to look up jazz of Philippines.. And this is gem

What an amazing song. If there any person from the Philippines reading this words I send you a blessing and a greeting from Venezuela.
