****Lesson overview****
In this lesson we introduce you to the "cheek spit". It will sound terrible, but the good news is... it's meant too. Being able to do what we show you in this lesson is a huge step forward in the circular breathing process. Make sure you can do this step easily before proceeding to the next.
****Lesson goals****
*Be able to squeeze out a mouthful of air with your cheeks to make a spitting sound
*Make a spitting sound with your cheeks that lasts around 2 -- 3 seconds
*Be able to do the "cheek spit" at the same time as taking a breath in through your nose
*Be able to repeat this technique over and over without having to concentrate too much
****Training tips****
*When doing the cheek spit, make sure you are not "blowing" the air from your lungs. You are just wanting to spit the air out that is stored in your mouth
*You don't have to rush. This technique is best done slowly and controlled
*Doing the cheek spit on the 3rd breath in, teaches you to store the air in your mouth first and only use this air to squeeze out
*Forget about how this technique relates to the didgeridoo, this is a breathing exercise
*Try to resist going to the next step until you find this step easy
*The fastest way get the circular breathing technique is to practice each step until it's so easy that it's boring! Only then go onto the next step
*You may have to practice 10 times, 100 times or 1000 times. It doesn't matter how many it takes, it can happen much sooner that you think
*If you try to learn the circular breathing on the didgeridoo, all your focus goes to making it sound good and you can forget about the technique. This is the long and painful way to learn. Put the didgeridoo down, practice our way and you will be circular breathing very soon
you're an awesome teacher I'm walking around my home doing this and my kids are giggling like crazy lol thank you
I love this guys energy! He makes it all so fun and less intimidating. He makes me feel good. I like him a lot.
Thank you very much Sanshi. Part 2 was a huge help. I bought a didgeridoo, practiced simple sounds for a week about two hours a day, did your exercises for the week while driving, at home, so on. Not a 1,000 times a day maybe 50 - 100, I get light headed after about 25 in a row. My didgeridoo has excellent back pressure, I was able to circular breathe in about 2- 3 hours of focusing on it and not giving up. It's rough, but I can do it and soon it will be natural.
I have never laughed so much walking around the house doing this, thankyou, I watched other videos but you have really been the only teacher who has helped, my didgeridoo is on it's way my cheeks are aching I will check the new vids... thankyou beautiful soul!
Thank you for your comment! You made my day! Happy Didgin'!

Sashi, you are the man. Every other vid on here just explains how easy circular breathing is which it is.. in theory but actually doing it for a begginer didje player is another story. These videos were made from a teaching perspective not just explaining the obvious of what circular breathing is, keep up the good work.
Thank you! You are a great teacher. I thought I would never get this until now!
Best teacher ^^

Thank you for these, circular breathing sounds simple but it definitely isn't.
It's working! I'm sure getting dizzy from all this practice though...
+Paul Chien Sorry it took so long to reply, but with more practice, it will get easier and you'll be able to be more relaxed with playing, which will reduce that dizziness.

i just laughed the whole way ahahahahahahaha just slapping my puffed cheek with my hands ahaha my lips are numb
Holy shit this is amazing!
Yep, takes some practice, like riding a bike
subscribed! thank u!
+Stuart Dillion (Adhoc) Thankyou :)
my pleasure. As I walk today I practice my circular breathing so thank u.
Thanks for the video! I'm just beginning...I have the drone but I wonder if you keep your teeth pressed together while you play or are they slightly apart? Ta.
Teeth a part, to make it flexibly manoeuvre, jaw movement can be added when circular breathing!
If teeth are closed, sound gets tight. Less air capacity.
Oh goodie, now I know how to get a seat on the train!
cooool!
so fucking good! Getting there!
This must be how Jedi train.
from now on I will face fart at traffic while breathing deeply... thank you #commutebliss

Is it right that when im sqweasing the air out of my cheeks and inhaling through my nose after a while i get dizzy and light headed or is it a sign to stop smoking lol
Joshua Moore Try breath in when your lungs are half full, if you empty your lungs out, you will get dizzy!! Happy Didgin'!
