I really enjoy these recap videos. I learn so much from watching your methods. Cover water. Fish patterns. Stay consistent in your approach. All good stuff!
Congratulations and thanks so much for the on the water videos. I'm learning a lot watching these and your follow up videos describing WHAT you are doing and WHY.
Great footage. Thanks for sharing the catches this week. Congrats on the finish. Looking forward to your wrap-up video. Keep the momentum and keep moving up!
The audio is A+. I dream of similar birdsong on our thawed Wisconsin waters... and the scream of that Yamaha! Learned something as well: that cast you made over the cable and lost a fish - I would have not made that cast but now I will be unafraid to!
I was reading thru the remarks and ran into spooky's comment on the water clarity. Like you I've fished it all from the ultra clear to chocolate milk. My preference is three to six feet but a pro needs to fish it all. You might want to cover how you approach each, for the others. It would be a video of coarse. In the past I'd mention all the lakes east of the Mississippi, from NY to GA. A career in the military has plenty of side benefits. You think you did very good given the conditions. And I noticed you kept your shoes dry on day three. Two top 20's !!!!
Just got power back on, Great footage. Love to watch you skip, That was a great tournament , You sounded pumped up and all positive, the only way to fish😀 Yep , I think this is the lucky boat
Congrats on the 20th place finish... Sorry to see you miss that nice one at the end there, I lost my big one today too about a four pounder... Thank the lord we both had a stellar day of fishing!!!👍
Not bad for a cheese eatin Packer fan!! This is so much fun Matt. It's obviously great that ur doing so well and then to get to watch all ur catches is really special!! I can't believe you've got the time to edit these during the tournament and then after a 14hr drive. I guess all that $$ in ur pocket helps the process? What were you skipping under the docks? With a baitcaster show off!! Congrats buddy!!
These video done during tournament time are well done Sir. Keep them coming and all the best in your tournaments this year. Question; what is the culling system you use during a tournament?
Congrats on top 20. For video idea can you do underwater video of hover rig with your favorite worm, craw and beaver options. Curious if they work. I ordered small and large size.
You did good man Keep it up Plan your grind and grind your plan And good things will continue Plus your outside fishing and doing what you enjoy Thx for posting the cool videos
🍺For me whenever you make that sweet cast under a dock you almost expect a bite and are somewhat disappointed if you don’t get bit. I’d bet pretty good money 🤑that it will be awhile before you ever forget your net again. This one seemed longer and lighter than the one you had in the first tournament. Lastly the way you stealthily get your catch into the box with your head on a swivel as to make sure you stay as unnoticed as possible is priceless.🤠I enjoy your style and can feel your determination and competitiveness🤛.
I can’t believe you are able to catch any in that dirty water , fish here down south in that high Mississippi River in Venice they don’t bite in that ? Please explain to me this , I would seriously appreciate it too , thanks Matt , glad ur catching em too
@@MattStefanFishing I can’t get a bite in chocolate milk down there I have to wait every year till the Mississippi River falls and turns green , I just wondered if it was me or could this be real
I also really enjoy these on the water recap videos. Congrats on your high finish. Well done. Q: When I see that coloured water, I'd be tying on a big single-colorado spinnerbait. Wondering out loud if that's not a big player in your arsenal?
Maybe flip flops will take you to 15th in the next one...haha. Like others have said, I really enjoy watching the casting and retrieving techniques. Congrats, JJ
I'm just curious, and feel free to tell me to pound sand, but with all the math you did trying to decide where to fish this season, does a 20th place finish payout enough for you to make some $$ or at least cover your next entry fee or two ???
Ive won 20K this year, but my expenses to fish all 6 events is $45K. so i have my work cut out for me in the last four events. there is no money in tournament fishing. just a vehicle to help promote and build angle awareness.
@@MattStefanFishing Wow. That's hard math no matter how you look at it. At least you're fishing well. Keep grinding. As the saying goes, good things happen to good people. Can't reach your goals if you don't risk a few things along the way.
You replied to me in your 1st Clark Hill video that you thought Clark Hill would fish like Hartwell. No it doesn't, and Russell in between them is different yet again. Clark Hill is very similar to Lake Murray, West of Columbia, S.C. Different river system, but both are just above the Fall line, the topo features are the same, Ya'll come back now, ya' hear!😄 I'm fishing the Big Bass Derby this weekend at the Hill, hope MLF didn't stick'em all.
The fact that you didn't use your FFS most of the time on the water makes your finish that much more impressive. Congrats again
i was only using it to see depth buti really didnt even need it on
I know very little when it comes to FFS, does it read accurate in muddy/off colored water?
@@lannyseals2084 Supposedly yes
@@williamgould2470 thanks for the reply!

These video done during tournament time are well done Sir. Keep them coming and all the best in your tournaments this year. Question; what is the culling system you use during a tournament?
the are TH marine conservation culling clips and then I use a accu-cull weight recording system
Now let keep the going. Thanks Matt
You bet!
Awesome net job over the cable. I give it a 10!
I remember my net this time haha
Great job! I would have had some of those fish tangled in those cables! Nice finish!
it was nerve wracking
Nice start to the season after two tournaments.
thanks!
Great finish Matt! Stay focused.
Thanks! Will do!

Top 20 with the competition and the electronics in today's world not to shabby 👍

Great job, Matt! Terrific way to start the year. What C-Map version are you using this year on your Lowrance’s? Thanks!
I had a google maps aerial overlay on one graph and the preloaded CMAP on my other graph
Thanks again for the on the water video. That must have been the 3 pounder you lost next to the dock
it was a 3-4 lber...would have made a big difference!
Great finish. I enjoy the style of video. Good info. Focused on catches or techniques. A few updates on your thoughts. All gas, no brakes.
Thanks!

they were setting up the same way in dirty water as the clear water honestly. it didnt seem to affect the fish at all

i didnt throw it because it doesnt skip under the docks well
@@MattStefanFishing a fair reason. Thanks for taking the time to reply Matt. Best of luck on your next stop.

Nice finish bro
thanks!
Your video is much better than the MLF TV show. What bait and setup were you using when skipping docks?
Ill have a full recap in tomorrows video
@@MattStefanFishing great, thanks
Interesting that you crank right handed and flip and swim a jig left handed. Guess I’ve never seen that before. Great videos!
yep i have no problem using a left or right reel

I hate fishing in flip flops. its either barefoot or shoes.
@@MattStefanFishing It's working for ya!
Another great tournament, is it just me but the water seems really dirty ?
yep some of it was really dirty!
Congratulations. Anything you wish you did different?
i wish i had identified the pattern sooner during practice

I love it when you catch a larger fish and you look around like a burglar who has just stolen something to see if anyone is watching!!
hahahahaha
👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
20th. Place. In how many people. Did that get you a decent payout. 🤔🤔. Hopefully somebody will reply.
the last pay spot $10,000
Like I said, your KVD 2.0 ! 🐟🐟
haha
Good fishing 🎣 ✅ 25
THanks!
That water looks like chocolate milk
some areas were very dirty
I see you like to fish barefoot. be careful about getting a hook in your foot. that is no fun!
will do
Good tournament Matt! It seemed like you could have used some sun. I think the tournament was a week or two early for peak LM prespawners.
Very true!
Great job, Matt.
