It’s ok about the sunflowers Gina. That’s how we gardeners learn when to pick the blooms. Just think of all the times you were able to enjoy them outside. Blessings.
Love watching Fall chores. Fence pulling - old style. The Goats would absolutely love a great pile of those rocks in their pasture, so they can do what they do best. I enjoyed seeing Hope asserting herself with Little Man over who's Top Goat . lol Hope you had an enjoyable dinner with your friends. Blessings
The fall colors on your farm looks so beautiful, seeing the goats play is wonderful, your family is so bless, wow that is a lot of fire wood, I hope you have lots of beautiful days so you can get things done.
For those that don't know; use diagonal bracing on the corner fencing as it actually supports the posts, other methods really lend to no bracing at all. Wow, I haven't been to your channel in a while, its grown/the channel and your farm!
Something I just learned from watching Blue Cactus Dairy is that you don't want bucks that are breeding sharing a fence line. Especially, if you are worried about making sure that they don't breed the other's does through the fence, which I don't think you are for this season, but it could have genetic repercussions later, if you then breed the offspring. But mainly, it also relieves stress on the bucks, because they're not constantly worried about protecting their females from the other buck. A solid wood fence or wall helps them to not see each other.

Good morning Lumnah family. Loved the video along with my morning coffee as usual. Love seeing the trees changing in the background, and hope soon you will be bringing out the drone. On the cobbler topping I omitted the flour a long time ago and just use the oatmeal. Replace the amount of flour with oatmeal. To me it tastes so much better. Everything is looking wonderful. Hey Al, You'll probably have a couple of trees to cut up after this storm to add to your firewood. We lost 6 on our short road alone. I saw all the emergency electrical trucks out this morning and I thought of all the people that have to have electric to heat their homes. You were smart to have your wood heater and designing the house to use it efficiently. Stay Warm!!
Good morning Lumnah family and subscribers and friends. Very windy today in my neck of the woods. The male goats, Zeke and Caleb look so handsome and they’ve growing so fast. Stay warm and have blessed day.🧡
You're already putting your wire on the out side or your posts, but it is always better to put the wire on the side of your posts that will take the animal pressure [goats love to rub against and walk down a fence]. So for your next one put your wire on the inside. I know it is harder to do in a small pen, but always on your field fences do it on the inside.
Things there on your place looking so good. I did not realize how much wood have there. Sure glad you have a big wood shed now. As always thanks for sharing your homestead with us.
That blueberry crisp looked great! I bet the boy goats would love to have more space to play in, maybe give them a section of the new pasture to play in. Blessings to all.

The blueberry crisp looked delicious, and the recipe was very easy, that was nice watching you two put up the fence, and hope you show the gate going up,
Good mornin New Yolk City ... very handsome Black Copper Maran rooster. Moose is looking a lot better now too. Looks like the goats have barely explored the fenced in area, but they gotta be lovin having such a large area to mess around in. Thanks for taking us along on your journey, take care AL, Gina & Olivia.
Really interesting watching you and Gina working on projects. Always enjoy seeing Moose, but that other rooster is really handsome too. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Gina. Going to have to make that in the crockpot soon. God Bless you all.
Yup, that's exactly how we stretched our fence a couple months ago. To roll it out I put one fork on the tractor bucket and put the roll of fence of on the fork then I was able to pull the fencing the desired length. Good job.
Al I used to work an egg laying farm as a teenager in the 60's. In the fall we would take the young birds to their forever coop and for one week at night we would go in and put each bird on the roost. The roost had a solid wood platform underneath roost poles. We really packed them in. Cold in Mass in winter as you know. All birds were Rhode Island Reds. After one week the birds got the idea and were roosting themselves. Keeps them out of corners and nest boxes at night.

We found that a hinge added to the top of the milking stand works works well. Just put the screws on one side so you can just give it a flip towards the front of the milking stand and the goat is locked in.
I make apple crisp or peach crisp but have never thought to do blueberries. Now I have to make it because it sounds so delicious. Great projects getting done before winter... being prepared and staying productive is always better than procrastinating till the last minute. Your family is doing well and I'm hoping you get done before it snows there. Unfortunately, we don't have snow in Hawaii except for Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii and Haleakala on Maui. Lol...good morning beautiful people sounds so rehearsed, not natural. Stick to your uniqueness. Modern steaders is yours, you own it! I don’t like that another homesteader family has mimicked your opening.
No matter what, there will always be something that needs to be done on the farm. It's probably a good thing that the kinds of things you need to do changes with the seasons ... keeps you from getting bored.
Thanks Gina, I was wondering about the sprayer on a previous vlog. I like that it's clear and you can see how much you have in it....and hey, how come you are not parking your car in the carport!???!!
Nossa como a natureza e Deus foi generosa com essa terra cada coisa linda umas árvores com folhas coloridas, aqui no Brasil não tem essas árvores assim e tudo verde
The Fall colors are beautiful there at Lumnah Acres. I've never seen such vibrant colors. I live in Southeast Tennessee and our trees won't start really turning until about November. Yours are beautiful. I wish your apparel came in larger sizes. I need about a 5X in shirts. If you ever decide to make larger sizes, I'll purchase something.
You need a board to write all your projects down on.......then you won't forget one. We add just a splash of apple cider vinegar to all our animals water and its very beneficial. We made a stretcher out of 2 2 x 4's and then put bolts in three places. Pretty much what you did but it doesn't pull on the fence anywhere. You guys have really gotten a lot done this year. We love your video's and its always a disappointment when there isn't a new one!! Blessing to you and your family
Goooooood Moring Al , Gina , & Olivia , Nope , beautiful people does not suit you Al . You ARE more of a modernsteader ! I have used a similar method for stretching a chain link fence. Only I used a come along. A chain link fence is heavier material than the lighter fence that you have. Still , the ratchet strap is a good idea. A good idea for a modernsteader. Ha ha , Gina does not look like she is ready to cope with chilly early mornings. I'll bet that when the mornings become really cold that Gina will still be inside wrapped around a cup of hot coffee. lol I know that I will be. My citrus trees came inside last evening. I have not had a frost yet but it's not far off.
Not my favorite job fencing! We just made a special trip to town last night to pick up temporary 'step-in' fence posts for the horses. They are quickly running out of pasture grass, and we need to put them on our new south pasture. Next spring we will make a permanent fence with t-posts. Glad you guys got yous in before the freeze-up! 😊

Your family is doing well and I'm hoping you get done before it snows there. Unfortunately, we don't have snow in Hawaii except for Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii and Haleakala on Maui. Stay blessed everyone and hope you're all having a wonderful day 🤙🤙🤙
Hope is just getting more and more stunning! I cant wait to see her first babies in a year or so!
I prefer the "other" opening...modern steaders! My 2 cents, but thanks for the vid, hope the big storm didn't cause issues. Keep on keeping on!
Another family opens with beautiful people! I do like morning modern steadiers best! Just starts the day off right:)
I would like him to say good morning city slickers.
Lol...good morning beautiful people sounds so rehearsed, not natural. Stick to your uniqueness. Modern steaders is yours, you own it! I don’t like that another homesteader family has mimicked your opening.
Love the color of the trees.
Was watching this with my 9 year old son, and he says at 17:34, "that looks like a wood river." I completely agree with him!
No matter what, there will always be something that needs to be done on the farm. It's probably a good thing that the kinds of things you need to do changes with the seasons ... keeps you from getting bored.
That is one of the things I love about farming it is always changing.
I've used that ratchet strap trick with a short run of chain link fence. Nice job!
The fall looks so pretty at your home. I’m going to try that recipe!
Good morning who???? Don’t mess with us Al, that’s not ok. 🤣😂🤣😂
On the chickens. Are you grinding up the egg shells and mixing it with the chicken feed? It helps them with egg laying.
Its nice how you all muck in with things
The Fall colors are beautiful there at Lumnah Acres. I've never seen such vibrant colors. I live in Southeast Tennessee and our trees won't start really turning until about November. Yours are beautiful. I wish your apparel came in larger sizes. I need about a 5X in shirts. If you ever decide to make larger sizes, I'll purchase something.
Wayne Leamon you are in my neck of the woods. Are you related to the Jewelers?
No. I live in Polk County and I'm related to the Yates family.
A nice productive day !
Have a wonderful day 🌻🌻🌻
Their so cute running in the a pasture
You need a board to write all your projects down on.......then you won't forget one. We add just a splash of apple cider vinegar to all our animals water and its very beneficial. We made a stretcher out of 2 2 x 4's and then put bolts in three places. Pretty much what you did but it doesn't pull on the fence anywhere. You guys have really gotten a lot done this year. We love your video's and its always a disappointment when there isn't a new one!! Blessing to you and your family
Beautiufll home stead nice work you all
Blueberry crisp yum. 🌻🌻🌻🌻
Next time you check on the younger chickens grab them gently and set them on the roost I've done that with young starter chickens before
Oh! Noes! Not the usual good morning! Thanks for recipe and links :)
Goooooood Moring Al , Gina , & Olivia ,
Nope , beautiful people does not suit you Al .
At 20:30 that chicken was laughing 😂
Thank you.
I hate thinking about freeze up! Hope you get yours done too
@@LumnahAcres - Thanks! The sad look on the horses faces will make it get done 😉 I'm surprised Livvie doesn't want a horse yet. When that day comes, I have plenty of advice 😊😊😊 Have a great day!
Is Figaro away on assignment?
Y'all got me hook on using Avocado Oil. May need to pick up one of those sprayers Gina!!
Is Avocado Oil mild tasting? Like I could use it in an asian stir-fry?
@@susanfurnish4132 I use it in asian cooking, and cake baking. Very mild, and lite.
@@sandyoklahomatransient8557 HEY! THANKS!*
@@susanfurnish4132 You're welcome! Gina and Al turned me on to Avocado Oil. I now use it all the time.
I really enjoy watching your VLOG. The chickens you moved to the greenhouse have been in the chicken tractor on the ground, they don't know how to roost. You may have to either go in at night and put them on the roost till they get the hang of it or add another hen or two to teach them.
feed those sunflower greens to your goats & pigs, they will love them
It's so cold up there already!! It's noon right now and 68°f here in Florida and it feels cold to me 😆... It's a good thing y'all have all that firewood ready... Stay warm 😉
That’s a heat wave for us. 😆
