Blows my mind away realizing just how many thousands of fantastic unforgettable songs were created during such a very short period of time 1967 - 1969 and then shockingly compare that to 2019 - 2021, so sad.
What a wonderful sunshine pop rock group they were. Extremely talented and Elaine Mac Farlane had a superb voice! This song was unbelievably great then, and still is now and thank you for those lovely pictures of them, it adds to the magic listening to this song !!!!!
This old-fashioned song came straight out of the blue. As in "Blue Skies, sunshine...." It was played thousands of times back in those summer days long ago. Spanky and her little band rivaled the Beatles and the Stones with this ditty. I love it.

I didn’t know that “Lazy Day” by Spanky And Our Gang was co-written by George Fischoff, who later recorded a disco instrumental called “King Kingston” in 1975. “Lazy Day” is a terrific song of love and optimism. And it hit the charts in 1968.
We need to make this song a national anthem! Who could have a bad mood with this song....I'm dancing and brushing my teeth! Happy birthday goes well over this!
@burnittaglasser424 could not agree more. Give me songs from Sly and the family stone and the Youngbloods, Maralee Rush and (in my more metal days, I had an ear-crush on Karen Carpenter). I think it could be building block for changing attitudes! Maybe that's just a 60's flash back..!

marie tarallo, the band worked and probably lived in chicago but only elaine mcfarlane was born in peoria illinois, the others are/were from all over the place.

I thought I was losing it. I remember those "hellos" and was wondering where they went. Thanks for restoring my full memory of this well-loved song.
@@mitchellhawkes22 Like you, I too had remembered the hellos and was determined to find it. This song is really special.
