This was once considered as the Rolls Royce of receivers. Never saw once except on UA-cam. I used to have the HQ-215 that is no longer available except through rare finds, etc. Was one helluva receiver. Thanks for sharing this - Rich, W2FKN
That is a beautiful receiver, very nice far better than the BC-348 Signal corps receiver that I'am used to. I believe the frequency range is much broader that the BC-348 which doesn't have the 10m or 20 meter ham bands if I remember correctly. Thanks for sharing! Kind regards, Eric Dee.
Back in the 70's I had one of these. The front panel paint was in bad shape so I refinished it as bare Aluminum with all the letter in black. Turned out great The SP600 is a great receiver and I kinda wish I hadn't sold it. I just saw one at Ham Com last weekend in Irving, TX. I can't recall what they wanted for it or if it had been refurbished but I'm thinking it was For Sale for around $150. The one you are showing here looks like a great unit. N5PY Beau
I almost bought one today for 75 bucks, but when I look inside the wires looked really bad and I need a lot of capacitors along with full restoration job.

Despite being referred to as a "Boat Anchor", it looks like an SP 600 doesn't weigh that much compared to say an RCA AR 88.
