I am a novice artist myself and I actually feared about losing my eyesights permanently. I hope this video one day would prove to inspire me, not just amazing me right now.
Amazing testimony! I came here because my vision has become slowly blurry over the last year, but has really gone downhill over the last month. I am scared. It's a strange experience for me, because I have always had 20/20 vision.
it's one of those videos where you're frustrated you can't click that like more than once ! what an amazing, ballsy person ! such inspiration - thank you for sharing his story.
Yesterday I heard a story about a woman who was a painter, but when she became old, she lost her sight and was having a really hard time. I don't know if she is still alive, but this video is proof that her time as a painter isn't necessarily over and I wish I could help her to relive the joy of visual art despite her disability. Elderly people embody many of humanities fears, they often live through it and at the same time fight against it. The people who live to be a hundred are proof of resilience.
This is so incredible and amazing and inspiring thank you for sharing this story and thank u to the artist to not be fearful or deterred from your passion, art has saved my life, but recently I had a surgery that impacted me being able to take care of myself let alone being able to paint, draw or do anything creative or so I thought after the initial pity party I decided to look up artists who are painting without limbs, but it lead me to this video, that really resonates with me, that nothing can stop the unstoppable and had u gave up because you couldn't see, legally then what you have accomplished that penetrates so far deeper than eyesight may have not been created and with such a powerful positive outlook I'm so appreciative to be allowed the opportunity to have saw this video with an open mind and heart and I certainly will share because the people who take the time to inspire others through the lives of people in the community who might ordinarily get swept under the rug like atleast where I live, nobody is talking about the wonderful things that disabled people in my area are doing, in the midst of suffering or chaos, but maybe that is meant for me to change, one small act has a ripple effect on the sea of life, much gratitude for your beautiful inspiring contribution!
This is amazing, I do not doubt him being declared legally blind. What I do not believe is he is 100% blind living in darkness, at least not yet. It's bad enough where lines aren't seen, but he can see when the blur goes past his finger. This guy is amazing nonetheless, does much better than me, and my eyes still work somewhat well at 20/42.
Very few blind people are 100% blind. Most of us have some amount of vision. I 'see nothing' out of my left eye but in reality i do have some light perception in that eye. If I cover my right eye so I'm only using my left eye, I'm still aware of where the light source is coming from. It's like if you close your eyes you can still see light through your eyelids. In my right eye, my left half of my right eye is as blind as my whole left eye. My only usable vision is the right half of my right eye. However, that vision is extremely limited, it's like looking through thick, frosted glass. So yes, i have some vision. I am aware if a person is stood to my right but i could not see anything about that person. I dont see hair, facial features, nose, mouth etc. All i see is a humanoid shape near me. I can see large objects to my right like a big piece of furniture or a car, but i could only see it if it contrasts against the background and I could not tell you what the object was, just that something was there. Modern technology, especially on smartphones has changed the game. I can now browse youtube, read comments, have audio descriptions etc. I have screen readers and apps that can help me to identify what I'm pointing the phone camera at... ideal for help with shopping or identifying a wierd object i can not figure out. I love making art. I'm part of a local art club for the visually impaired and some of the work produced there is outstanding (not just for blind people but because we're talented). If an ophthalmologist has certified someone as being legally blind then they're blind enough to have very little usable vision and the vision loss is significant enough to be considered a disability. Blindness is a varied spectrum. If someone tells you they are paralysed, you wouldn't say "I dont doubt you are paralysed a bit but I don't think you are 100% paralysed because you can move your left hand". Don't dismiss or downplay someone's experience with their disability. Trust me, their life has a ton of challenges already, they don't need the doubt of strangers adding to those challenges.

Mark 12:28-31 The Greatest Commandment 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[b] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.” Luke 10:25-37 The Parable of the Good Samaritan 25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]” 28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” 29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” 30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ 36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” 37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 18:9-14 The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 16:19-31 The Rich Man and Lazarus 19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ 25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ 27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ 29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]” 20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” 27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Luke 18:35-43 New International Version A Blind Beggar Receives His Sight 35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. 42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
Because he is legally blind, not completely blind. According to the American Foundation for the Blind, legally blind is not the same as totally blind, which is used to describe the inability to see anything at all out of either eye. Most people who are legally blind have some vision. Legally Blind Criteria You would meet one of these criteria: Visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the eye you can see out of best (while wearing corrective glasses or contacts) Visual field of no more than 20 degrees He can see things, but detail is gone. He uses his fingers to feel where the boundaries are since he sees blur. He can still see, but it isn't good at all. 20/200 means he sees detail at 20 feet the same as a 20/20 person sees at 200 feet. That's the beginning to legally blind. He's most likely worse, but can still see a little bit. I know legally blind people that don't recognize me till I'm within 5 feet. But they do make me out without me making a noise when they get within sight range and call me by name. Not everyone carrying a blind cane is in darkness, it just helps them see the blur of an obstacle better.
It's really rare for blind people to be 100% blind. Most blind people see something, its just not enough vision to be of much use in their daily lives. I'm legally blind. I lost 85% of my vision in 2020. The 15% of vision i do still have is so blurry and patchy that it is like looking through thick smoke. The rest of my vision is gone (my left eye is totally blind and most of my right eye is too). However, if the lighting is just right and I happen to be angled in the perfect way, I can sometimes notice things that my fully sighted husband missed.
I am going totally blind... I had forgot about this video and I thought I would lose my digital art abilities and now I am sitting here realizing you are right.... This is exactly how I can keep my art alive.

The Greatest Commandment

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[b] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.”
Luke 10:25-37
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]”
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”

38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

How is it damn fucking possible...
Because he is legally blind, not completely blind.
According to the American Foundation for the Blind, legally blind is not the same as totally blind, which is used to describe the inability to see anything at all out of either eye. Most people who are legally blind have some vision.
Legally Blind Criteria
You would meet one of these criteria:
Visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the eye you can see out of best (while wearing corrective glasses or contacts)
Visual field of no more than 20 degrees
He can see things, but detail is gone.

He's as blind as Stevie wonder, if u know u know
It's really rare for blind people to be 100% blind.
