    Good wrap up.
I have Sula on my bookshelf. I struggle with classics, but hopefully this one will work for me. I did really like The Bluest Eye.
Ahh Fourth Wing. I’m glad you had fun with it. Maybe I’ll get to it someday, but I’m in no rush. Romantasy just isn’t my vibe.
Monstrilio is good, but it’s a very strange book. 😅 If you like Mona Awad and Melissa Broder, you might like Monstrilio.
Bummer about Natural Beauty. It’s a book I’ve been looking forward to.
Added Freedom Is A Constant Struggle to the TBR.
Adding Night Watching to the TBR.
Ooh rough on Murder Road. I find St. James writing just so-so.
I’ve been on a waitlist at the library for Here After. Glad to hear that it was good.
I’ve never read any Brandon Sanderson, but I keep eyeballing Tress. (If you want another pirate story, 10/10 would recommend The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi.
Seven Days In June... The Bookmark Chronicles did a fantastic discussion on why it’s not good to label this book as romance and it really made me reconsider the book and genre.
Yes to As Long As The Lemon Trees Grow. That was my second favorite book last year, beat only by Chain-Gang All-Stars.

Hi Scottie! hahahahahahaah I think fourth wing took all of us by storm. I enjoyed that book just as much as you and everyone else! I also heard not so much positive things about iron flame...So I, too have no intentions of picking it up anytime soon. No way you didn't enjoy seven days in June! 😅As for Babel...push through. It is heavy but R.F. Kuang is a fantastic storyteller.

Girrllll I feel like my black card was revoked for not liking Seven Days In June 😅🥴😂
And yes....fourth wing was a surprisingly run ride but I'll pass on Iron Flame. I'll just watch a spoiler filled video haha

I have read every book by Simone St James and I DNF’d this one. Murder Road was significantly below her other books. If you want to read a better one of hers, I would suggest The Sundown Motel or The Broken Girls. She has also written several historical romances with heavy paranormal parts in case that interests you.

That makes me feel a bit better! I think I need a break for a bit but I've considered picking up The Broken Girls as a second try at some point in the future....maybeeeee 😅

@@scottieshereereads it’s by L. J Andrews. Pirates isn’t really my thing, or so I thought, until this book😅

I just reviewed Seven Days in June on my channel and though I liked it (the daughter was my favorite), I agree that it’s not really a romance and a lot darker than I was expecting. I don’t think you missed anything and I agree with you that the two characters really weren’t in a position to be together.

      someone gets me!! 😂
all jokes aside, i think i would have enjoyed it much more if i had known what i was getting into.
i thought i was picking up a fluffy romance....i was wrong hahaha

So glad you loved Tress, it’s just such a good book!! And I had the same exact thoughts about Fourth Wing, haha I ate it up and I am not ashamed 😂 Oh man, I just read Seven Days in June and it’s one of my top books of this year so far! But it was interesting to hear your thoughts and I think that’s totally valid. I really connected and empathized with both Shane and Eva and enjoyed seeing their journey even though it was heavy. I think I mainly appreciated that even if they were still working through some major things, that they were mature enough as adults to approach their relationship carefully and really evaluate things before jumping back in and that they wanted to love and support each other even through their struggles and healing. But that’s just my opinion, haha. Sorry you didn’t resonate with it but I totally get it!!

I think that I would have felt very different about Seven Days In June if I had known that it was a more serious novel.
I picked it up thinking it was going to be a cute, fluffy romance to read on the beach 😂
Wasn't the vibes I was looking for at the time but that's okay. hahaha

@@scottieshereereads yeah that’s totally fair!! I went into it knowing it would be heavy and was so ready for it, haha so that makes sense. Always good to hear a different opinion though!

While I really liked Seven Days in June, I agree that it’s not a romance. I think because I went in knowing that it curbed some of my expectations. But I would def recommend A Love Song for Ricki Wilde. But if you hate it, tell me gently 🫣😂

@@RobinReads Yeahhh I definitely think that I would have enjoyed it more if i knew it was a more serious romance.
Is A Love Song for Ricki Wilde a romance that deals with darker topics as well??
