Jesus definitely cared for the poor, the sick, and the needy. That doesn't mean that the role of a private individual is the same as the State. People on the Left who are uneducated on both gov't and religion assume that directives to the individual are all transferable to the public sector; they are not.
@@paulweeldreyer7457 Another directive to the individual is to be on your guard against greed. The greedy will not inherit the kingdom of God. @@paulweeldreyer7457 Also, I find it interesting that you think "it is the left that assumes that directives to the individual are all transferable to the public sector." The right very clearly wants Christian public policy(just take abortion for one), so your argument doesn't hold water.

I am a part of the religious left. I am also a Catholic. Mayor Pete is the embodiment of Christ like teachings. He will bring intellect and compassion to every political policy. He has the moral compass our current government is so sorely lacking. I like Pete - can that become a button I wear?
Mayor of South Bend Indiana should be given a long list of very specific issues and problems that have taken our U. S. "democratic republic" to the brink of collapse, and have him respond to each and every one mentioned on the list with very specific and concrete strategies and actions to deal with each and every one of them --- not the usual "BS" that past U. S. politicians have indulged in during past election campaigns and have got away with it. Why am I saying all this? If you look at recent political quagmires such as the Brexit issue and the current messy situation in the USA and other countries around the world, you might realize that citizens have not been sufficiently knowledgeable and savvy enough when casting their votes or taking sides on the political front.
I love how uncomfortable the media is with this guy cause they can't paint him into some character they want to create. He's a real, decent guy. I'm all in on Mayor Pete for 2020.
How can you not vote for Pete ... no matter how you pick his brain or even trying to tackle him on the mistakes he made in his hometown, he always delivers.

"Getting money out of politics." Bravo to Mayor Pete for being willing to take on that issue.
Mayor Pete is great. He was a year ahead of me in high school at St Joe in South Bend (I took a World History Honors/AP class with Pete when I was a freshman!).
Hopefully he gets enough time to speak during the debates. When he gets into policy and nuance, he's great. If he gets cut off, the American people won't see why he's so much different than the others.
This guy makes me completely hate that Beto is even a consideration. I'm a Bernie girl, but this guy is awesome!
Girl, word for word same.
I have a strong feeling Pete Buttigieg is going to be the next president. He’s what we need.
Pete is so Well spoken and intelligent. However, the male host of the show is very rude. Always speaking over the guest and co-host.
while most of the other dem candidates are busy trying to come up with effective rhetoric to contend with the hot mess we have as president, buttigieg is earnest and on point, not trying on other ridiculous suits to stand out. he's really amazing.
Thrilled he will be in the debates. We need intelligent, fresh, voices.
why are religious questions pertinent in American politics. it's old school.
Probably since abortion became political. 😖 I just hope Mayor Pete is more liberal in his religious beliefs than our Veep. And, for anyone to question Mayor Pete’s ‘ability’ to ‘command an Army (meaning the entire U.S.) is ridiculous considering the imbecile sitting in the Oval Office. And, as Mayor Pete stated...how many POTUSes has the U.S. had that were highly experienced in government and.....BLEW IT? After Trump, Miss Piggy could do a better job as POTUS! I’m going to keep my eyes and ears on Mayor Pete; and, I hope millions of other Americans will, too. He may just give Biden a run for his money!!
Yeah. It's absolutely absurd considering the fact that religion is supposed to be separated from politics.
This guy is incredibly eloquent, I am really surprised!
dnyalslg why surprised?
@@kathryndwright I am mostly surprised because he doesn't get any attention at all in the media. I had read articles mentioning him but that was about it. But now I've watched his town halls and his appearances on TV and he seems to have very sensible policies, and he expresses those very articulately. It's a shame this kind of 'minor' candidates sometimes goes unnoticed because of Big Media.
2019, and we still ask candidates "Did you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior?"
Leroy Lowe- Liberals hate Jesus Christ and his followers the only reason to ask candidates that question is to see if they can attract Evangelical Voter's. Most of us the Orthodox Remnant Church recognize Wolves in Sheep' Clothing, so of course they fail.
@@Raineygoodyears Liberals hate Jesus Christ? You need to lay off the bottle. Jesus himself would be a liberal. You think giving to the poor, caring for the sick, and sheltering immigrants is something Jesus would be against? What Bible have YOU been reading?
Jesus definitely cared for the poor, the sick, and the needy. That doesn't mean that the role of a private individual is the same as the State. People on the Left who are uneducated on both gov't and religion assume that directives to the individual are all transferable to the public sector; they are not.
@@paulweeldreyer7457 Another directive to the individual is to be on your guard against greed. The greedy will not inherit the kingdom of God. Between the directives you mentioned and the one I mentioned, which do you see Donald Trump, the republican, falling under? His "charity" literally used money to purchase a portrait of himself. It's ludicrous that I even have to point these things out to people.
@@paulweeldreyer7457 Also, I find it interesting that you think "it is the left that assumes that directives to the individual are all transferable to the public sector." What you're describing is the opposite of the separation of church and state. It is very clear that the Christian right wants the dissolution of the separation of church and state. The right very clearly wants Christian public policy(just take abortion for one), so your argument doesn't hold water.
Yes, burn the house down!!! We want REAL Change
We need a president that isnt just not as bad as trump,we need a Eisenhower or truman type personality with brains and emotional depth and a sense of nuance.
record economy, so bad
People should see him more in the debates!
Love his definition of Christianity, I’m also Episcopalian and believe that Christ taught us to respect and love humanity.
kathryn wright Me too!
And then abort them in the 3rd trimester!
I'm Catholic and I'm right there with him.
STOP interrupting your guest, Joe.
Best of luck to brother Pete .
Just donated to his campaign. He is spot-on when he says it's not about the resume for the next POTUS, it's about the character. He has demonstrated exceptional character and talks constantly about servant leadership, not giving more wealth and power to the top 1%.
Joe, stop interrupting your guests. You are not funny, and you are being disrespectful of this wonderful candidate whom I hope will lead the 2020 Democratic ticket.
Msnbc panel looks blown away! Love this guy. I think. i already decided to vote for him! 😊
I just donated to his campaign/committee. This guy is legit.
This philosophy and actions that is needed ,
Pete's personality is radiant, charismatic, and obviously not a psychopathic liar. He should consider updating the Constitution as a top priority.
Can you imagine this guy on a ticket with Tulsi? So calm, centered, and articulate. And both veterans who understand how to make strategic decisions.
It would be like a breath of fresh air after the crazy sh*tshow in the white house.
Mayor Pete is talking some good sh*t!! Smart and normal and not 500 years old
Wow, impressive, thanks MSNBC! Was just wondering about this guy with the odd last name 😂. So glad we've got such an amazing batch of candidates! Buh bye GOP!
JOE! Please STOP interrupting Mika! She is an intelligent, successful woman in her own right and deserves to finish a sentence! PLEASE...STOP INTERRUPTING HER!
Excellent to hear he is going to be in the debates!! I think he will truly show himself as a worthy contender in the debates, he comes across as very articulate, genuine, and educated. He is literally the opposite of Trump in every way
I am a part of the religious left.
If you look at recent political quagmires such as the Brexit issue and the current messy situation in the USA and other countries around the world, you might realize that citizens have not been sufficiently knowledgeable and savvy enough when casting their votes or taking sides on the political front.
this guy is a leader!
Impressive. Intellectual. Eloquent.
Sanders/Buttegieg is my dream ticket!
In a decent world, all of our leaders would be like Pete Buttegieg.
He is so relatable and likeable and clear. Go Pete!
Great candidate, definitely needs more media attention and coverage. If he doesn't have the popularity to win the primary, he would make a great VP, then future 2024 presidential candidate.
I hope he does well. I would vote for him!
Just give him the job please
Wow, refreshing.
Andrew Yang is still my first choice but Pete Buttigieg is now my second choice.
The more I hear or read about him the more I believe there is a healthy diection for the country.
I'm voting for him in the primaries!
Sign me up! He's getting all my coins!
Great job
Usually I end up hating most candidates on both sides, but I really like this guy. He's religious yet he separates that from his career. He's intelligent and open minded. His ideas are really good. He appeals to lots of people on the left, on the right, and in the middle. I hope he gets elected so he can turn this country around. C
Impressive.
As a Norwegian I have now seen at least 20 interviews with this guy! And although I have no say in the American election I have seen debates on both sides in your country for many years. And NEVER, EVER have I seen such a canditate, neither democrat or republican. So well spoken, and for me honest and not at least so willing and focused on the policies, and questions it selfs, to bring together a nation. Again, it`s not my election. But MAN, I can use all theese things in my own life. Just a thought (or 88....) from Norway :)
Great candidate. I hope he will make it after the first round of TV debates
Mayor Pete from all I've seen handles him remarkably well. It speaks to a superb leadership quality.
The more I see this guy and hear him talk the more impressed I am with him. I'm not religious and usually when candidates talk faith they do it from a place of moral superiority that I find alienating. I look forward to seeing more from him. I haven't felt this hopeful in a long time.
A diplomat and a man of the people. Wow.
Impressive
He's just so humble it's unbelievable! 💜
Rarely impressed I find myself with my pants down - this guy has everything I lack in US politics
Love Mayor Pete, Dude is to good and love the way he speaks.
Very very impressive.
This guy will get overshadowed by Beto, which is unfortunate because Pete is the far superior candidate in almost every capacity.
I wish I could have him as my president
I’m an unconditional Bernie supporter, but this guy was super impressive. I would love to see him on the debates!
