Love you Jeff! You are the best. Sending you positive vibes and love!
Thank you! I appreciate it.
It’s really helpful to be able to see the scale while hearing how you’re using the notes and creating rhythmic patterns. Thanks!
Glad you are enjoying the content!
Man as simple as you make it sound, this is wayyyyy over my head. What I hear in my head I can't play it.
Being able to play what you hear in your head is extremely difficult at first. It takes years for most of us to get even close. I wouldn’t worry about that in the beginning. I would just try to apply the knowledge and see how it goes. Baby steps!
@@JeffLewisTrumpet I'm amazed when I hear guys just rippin through solos on a track or during a performance, I wonder how are they able to do that just seemingly on the spot. In my mind those guys have to be thinking 100 mph, with flawless execution. And just listening to you and how break it all down and how you fly through the different chords and progressions I realize I missed so much in school.
@@oddstreet11 it’s never too late to learn!
yea, cuz the mute makes it skanky, man...nice instruction...no hype....all useful information for trumpet students....thanks
Thanks! I appreciate it
Very cool. Sounds like some serious music theory which is still way over my head! I think the biggest thing I still struggle with is phrasing when trying to improvise. I will just have to try playing up and down the notes and see how that sounds. Did you use a mute for any specific reason?
Thanks Mike! I think phrasing is one of those things that jazz musicians constantly work on. I only use the mute because that’s what it calls for in the second trumpet part of the big band chart. Hope all is well! Thanks for watching and commenting.
