    Smash Your Enemies lyrics:
    I hope I'm alive
    To witness your demise
    Make you feel my sorrow
    Encompass all my pain
    That I've felt for years
    Dreading each dying day
    Hanging by a thread
On the edge of my sanity
When I wake up the real nightmare begins
Will I make through my time in living hell?
Do I possess the strength to smash my fears into the ground?
    I've tried to be strong
I've tried to overcome but I don't think I possess the strength to carry on
I'm torn between, and there's no right choice
    I've gotta fight back
I won't be scarred for life.

a lot of people don't know that their first 2 album had the vocals slowed down in the editing room and when perseverance came out I think he wanted to try out his voice with out altering it and a lot of fans did not like it at all . hard core hatebreed fans actually hated perseverance with a passion because fans loved that deep sounding vocals. it was a very unique sound and to have that high pitched vocals fans thought it was shit .. honestly I didn't like it either I think the bigger he got the more he needed to step away from the voice altering because live it will not sound the same .. but I think he got to a point were he sharpened his voice where it sound more and more like the original slowed down vocals that people fell in love with in the first place .. that's why the last 3 songs sound different because he wasn't altering his vocals..

My review on Allmusic written June 3, 2016. 3.5 Stars
The Under The Knife CD compiles Hatebreed's 1996 debut 7" EP with their two cuts from their split 1995 7" done with Neglect. The CD adds another track, Puritan", to the package. Under The Knife is pure hardcore and starts to show glimpses of the powerful hardcore/metalcore band Hatebreed would become. Hatebreed fans will want to add this one to their collections as it represents the earliest output from the band....and it is pretty good too.
