- Part 17 of our let's play with gameplay and reactions of Horizon Zero Dawn in 4K60 on Ultra Hard Difficulty on ultra graphics settings. We final go down into the bunker and start main quest Secrets of the Earth and learn about what Project Zero Dawn really is. WOW! There is also a thrilling conclusion to the episode as well as we get a visit from an annoying but good friend. This was an excellent episode!

What an episode! A LOT of questions answered. Still a few questions left about Aloy though. Also how about that ending with Sylens?! As always thanks for watching. I'm not editing using the normal workflow and on a different machine at the moment so if there are any mistakes let me know :) ❤
Have you seen the gaia cast videos from guerrilla?
I remember there was a plan to make a movie out of this some 3 years ago. This the 3rd best cut scene in my opinion wait till you see the next one. Finish the game first before watching the GAIA cast its better that way.

Oh Sylens is up to something. I don't trust a man who worship's self-interest. He was using Aloy, that cannot be denied.
This part of the game made me change my opinion about Horizon from "This is a very good game" to "This is a freaking masterpiece".

The project zero dawn is one of the best plans ever conceived!!the friggin robotic crocodiles made the water clear again. All these machines to repair the damage of the Faro plague.
That reveal gives me chills every time I see it, what a masterpiece this story is.
I hope this won't happen in real life...
@@powerblades What's scary is that Guerrilla came up with the most realistic reason why the Faro Plague ended all life, because a money hungry trillionare with a massive ego saw that selling war machines that can self replicate and control other machines without an automatic kill switch to big corporations was profitable, and because a glitch caused the killer robots to self-replicate on their own and start killing and eating everything. Guerrilla took into account what greedy corporations have already been doing, the advancement of technology, and how one little glitch is becoming even more and more dangerous as we let technology take over more and more control of our armed forces😬. They talk more about this in their "Gaia Cast" episodes on their channel if you're interested in watching them🙂👍

@@powerblades Yeah. In HoriZDawn, those problems are there too, but the glitch in these killer robots made the world unable to recover on its own😬

The reveal was done masterfully. I have never felt more anticipation than exploring Zero Dawn's project facility. And this is where the game goes from 60 to 100. No stopping now. Time for more discoveries.
Yes but after the revelation some people lose interest on the following many audio files and just want to proceed.
It was at this point in the game that i realised i was playing the best game that i'd ever played.

That bit where Elizabet is reasuring Gaia that her feeling grief over the dinos extinction being a good thing followed by Gaia reassuring Elizabet about Zero Dawn working really hit me watching this.
Sylens' appearance in the Sun Ring, combined with the musical score of that scene, is simply put one of the best sequences in modern gaming history.
Before the reveal i was also kept wondering what happened and how. After reveal i was just blown away, plot took a route you dont really see much in apocalyptic games/movies etc.
Thank you for taking it slow. This game can be easy to fly through and miss important stuff for those who don't have the patience to look at all the audio logs and everything. You're doing really well with making sure you get all the story elements :)
Other than the whole walking away from half of the audio entries before letting them get to the end.

I found it very frustrating for her to want to find out about ZD so bad, and then proceeds to interrupt most audio files to scan text, walking away from holograms, or when Alloy was in the middle of a monologue and cut it short, and so on, all in a crucial point of the game, lore wise.
Same thoughts sarah! I would love to see this in a movie or series so I could show this to my friends or family that won’t be able to play the game 😂 The story is better than any other movies. It gives me chills everytime ☺️
I'm just scared that they will mess it up like what people have been saying seems to have been done with the Uncharted movie😬

Ha! Sylens’ understatement of the episode (or game), “Whatever you do, don’t’ die now”. Best episode by far and a huge amount of lore to take in. Great play through and well done for taking the time to collect all those data points. 👍

Well she rushed it way more than she should have...even missing parts of voice logs she started to listen to, as well as holo logs.
I think she should have taken it more slowly.
She should use the compass and the boxes that appear there to find the missing logs.
"Made from light" is how Aloy described machines being built in cauldrons as she watched...
Love watching you play. When you get back to the Nora (after gaining access and doing the stuff inside) after you exit talking to the npcs multiple times especially the Matriarchs (hint hint) you may get interesting info and that certain one that hates you funny dialogues. It made me laugh
It was great watching you in this part as so many things happened and as you said it would be easy to make a blockbuster movie out of this story. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot.

There you will meet a very important character that, if you do his quest, will tell you important prophecies concerning the events of Forbidden West!🙂👍

So smart indeed, the best game I've ever played for all it has to offer and I know that's a broad statement, but you already know it's justified.
I love the interactions between Elizabet and GAIA. Can't wait for you to get to GAIA Prime and investigate. Make sure you clear every area before going to the mission waypoint markers, because the last power cell is there (and kinda out of the way...)!
From this part of the story to the end the plot blows your mind ... until now you have only begun to discover everything ... the best remains now

That reveal was shocking, no other game has come close to giving me the same reaction. Hzd is one of the best games ever made
So I have to say that this part, the zero dawn bunker is my second favorite part of the game and I really enjoyed watching you react to the story and everything you found. This is exactly why it is my favorite game. The story is just the best and by the way I reacted the same way when I played it for the first time. That was… AWESOME!!! I really love the story about project Zero Dawn! There’s soo many things that happened like the conversations with some of the Alpha’s and all the really interesting science stuff! I just…. I JUST LOVE IT SOOO MUCH!!!
And tbh I think it was kinda necessary for Gaia to have a kill switch because like she said that her psyche was not predictable so, anything can happen. But I guess that’s why Gaia stayed with Elisabet probably the whole time. Because Elisabet was a great influence to Gaia because of some of Elisabet’s values and the way that Elisabet cared about other people and the world and how much she wants to be a blessing to others and life.
And for Sylens, I can’t really hate Sylens. He’s that kind of guy where you want to hate him but there’s that part of you that feels like you can’t hate him. Because he’s smart, helpful (or if you want, useful) and he’s probably a tiny bit caring, but ya know, he’s kinda selfish and rude and can sometimes be a jerk. But yeah, can’t hate my man Sylens.
But yeah, Aloy was reminded of Rost and she almost said “my father”. And that part shows that Rost was her father (adopted father) and that Aloy really loved Rost and misses him very much. But Aloy’s got a lot of support from Erend and her friends.

@@SnaxanGaming That's why i try to avoid killing the machines at a very particular space and in NG+ only the ones I need for the quests.
It took me about 2 months to finish my first run because I was so sucked into this world looking for Lore, exploring, trying things out and just admiring the beauty of the game like siting in a bush taking cover and then just taking a look at my suroundings and realising that´s a Tank i am kneeling next too just fascinating I love this game !
great playthrough although you missed quite a bit of dialogue inside that bunker xd
I always stay in the same place when the dialogue is up because it can cut it off or they will start to talk.
I found it incredibly frustrating tbh. Especially as Sarah wanted to know about ZD so badly, but when the holograms were explaining about the sub-functions and you move around, it will affect the immersion, or even lose some info altogether. The same goes for some audio files. Especially as the sub-functions of GAIA are crucial to the game's plot.
Anyways, I hope she learned from this and did better in FW, as I really like her style and her let's play's

Coming back on Horizon Zero Dawn (specifically watching your playthrough cause I'm lazy to do another run) with all the knowledge from Horizon Forbidden West, the attention to detail of this game still blows my mind from the mention of the Odyssey @18:37, and the FZ chamber datapoint @1:07:55 to literally putting the word "Far Zenith" on one of the ectogenic chamber @1:09:38 it's like they already know what the ending of Horizon 3 would be before they began the development of Zero Dawn 🤯

Now you know, that all the machines you were killing, are there working in order to bring life back to Earth. (except the corruptors and deathbringers) When I found this out, I was avoiding GAIA's machines whenewer I could and tried not to kill them. And also, when I replayed the game, I kept killing machines to a minimum.
Well except for thunderjaws, stalkers, ravagers, bellowbacks, sawtooths. Those were for killing people.

The scariest part about this is I can absolutely see that kind of apocalypse happening, but no chance of the world even attempting something like Zero Dawn to restore it after.
I mean, automated armies WILL replace the human soldiers of the richest nations. Losing control of that army can happen by a variety of causes, and then it's game over! End of all life in the world.
Only if they can self-replicate else they’ll eventually lose due to eventual entropy.
it's only a completely unstoppable problem if the automated army self-replicates, can consume nearby organic matter as fuel, and has no backdoor through which you can restore control/issue kill codes. The first two require some rather fantastically advanced nanotechnology to implement, and the third is something only an idiot like Faro would forget/deny implementation of.
At worst we get a *really bad* but not outright unstoppable robot apocalypse.

Horizon Zero Dawn is such a great game. My mind can't even begin to think about what Forbidden West will be like. I typically wait a while to play games. Very rarely do I play games right at release or pre-order (color me frugal). Horizon Forbidden West will be one of the few games I will play right away. LOL

It’s more than they just. The entire planet was rendered barren earth with acidic water and a toxic atmosphere. The surface of Mars would be a picnic next to the surface of the Earth after the Faro Plague had devoured everything.
You can really see the difference between USA and European-themed narrative themes. An US-themed narrative would see the us achieve a pyrrhic victory while the European-style storytelling is a more fatalistic “we’re unable to win so let’s ensure we avoid losing.”
Hey, Sarah! Now that you know what ZD is about, take some time in the future to go to the Frozen Wilds. At least make sure you go there before the final mission. This was an excelent episode, as always. See you in the next one!

For some reason, I feel like the fact that Sylens is such an asshole makes me trust him more. He just doesn't care for the bs. He lowkey has always been looking out for Aloy the whole time. Sure, he wants something out of all this but he still cares. That scene where he saves Aloy was spectacular. I had goosebumps too.

Quick note for later, if you check your guide, you'll see Daemonic Machines are RESISTANT TO ALL ELEMENTS.
So the only way to really hurt them is pure damage.

Ah, I get chills with this game it's so good! Is anyone else super happy with the female representation in this like I am?? I mean, there's lots of female characters, and they're all different, interesting, and seriously badass XD It's inspirational.
Hilarious. You spend tens of hours playing the game wondering what is going on and then when the game tells you with holograms you just ignore them and walk past.
