We just… did it 😅 Sorry that’s not very helpful. We’d say “Okay Rowan time for some quiet time!” And sometimes he sleeps and sometimes he doesn’t. However, he has consistently played quietly in his bed before or after naps for a long time so it was something he was naturally doing.
