I have a tape of Bob's show from June of 1961 featuring a man from our city of Napier, New Zealand Alan Hall being interviewed on his show. He was visiting LA at the time. Goes for 40 minutes. This is so interesting that I am producing a radio programme based around the fact that there is a crusade to get Bob inducted into the National Radio Hall Of Fame and incorporating some Crane early history as well as our man Alan Hall's interview.

Hogan's heroes was the one of few things I truly enjoyed coming and seeing it on TV
Looks like nothing was handed to Bob Crane. He got successful the hard way.
