I had the same problem with my galaxy 10+. You have to go into app settings and turn on all the permissions for the caldwell app.
They don’t offer you a warranty. It’s called a Caldwell tail light warranty.
Run a torch over the sensor. It shows error that means it works. You got a bummer. 😀😞😏
I’ve been using it for quite a while now in many videos so I think it is fine.
Mine has a cable for the laptop and the software download was free from the mfr. Nice video!
yeah, I think I can use that printer/usb style cable and connect to my laptop and download an app, too. Unfortunately, my phone could not connect to the chrono in a way that showed me velocity. I may need to try a different phone.
Was looking at this unit yesterday and may buy it. Good review.
Excellent. I hand load for hunting up here in Alaska.
I like that it does not have a sleep function as I often switch between rifles to keep the barrels cool.
I don't like that you can accidently turn it on and drain battery when putting it away.
There is a space for a spare battery....
Muzzle blast can affect the chronograph, so it should be >=15 feet from the muzzle.
An inexpensive laser bore sighter helps determine exactly where the rifle is pointing in setup. Level bubble should be used in setup. Accuracy is +/- 0.03% so if every shot is exactly 3,000 fps, reading will vary ~2991 to 3009 fps.
Shot should be level as well as chronograph should be level.
The tripod that comes with it is very flimsy, so the deluxe version is a waste of money.
Buy a solid used tripod at a pawn shop, good will, etc.
The app permissions must be allowed using phone app settings...otherwise you just see 0 fps on the phone.
ERR1 means first sensor did not detect bullet, ERR2 means second sensor did not detect bullet.
Now reloading will never be the same for you
Nice unit as good review....Good stuff....
Does it work if you run it in the sun without the rods and "light panels"?
Needs to be going 5fps huh?..........so if you shoot .45 it has to be +p ammo?
MidnightRangeTM Ah man, I never thought about that, on the other end, the .17 WSM HRi is waaaaay too fast for this one!
travisp11 yea definitely that stuff would just rip a hole in the space time continuum and suck your chrono into another dimension
It was inspected in the future? You have proven that time travel exists. Oh wait... you are a Travi from the future, aren't you?
Good info. Can't wait to see what other calibers do with different barrel lengths or different platforms that fire the same round. Maybe the 7.62x39 in the pistol vs AK platform
Travis T that will be next. I have my 16” AR47 and we will compare that to the 8.5” x39 pistol.
@@travisp11 Might also be interesting to see you test that round through your bolt action. I am interested in seeing velocity difference between the 3 with same ammo, or at least slug weight.
Calaveras 32Spcl true! I’m gonna do a 7.62x39 “shootout” between different platforms running the same round, like what Travis T suggested!
When testing this chorno at the range I referred to the upper as an 8.5", it is actually 7.5".
Yeah we knew what you mean’t!! Haha at least I did because I follow your channel.... awesome item to add to the tool bag and to the channel! I hope to see more vids using the chrono! Thanks again 👍🏻👍🏻
Eroc you will see it again on Saturday! Just finished the AKV range test!
travisp11 Awesome! I love that started with the blackout because Im a huge fan of the cartridge! I have 2 but my 10.5 is my go to favorite one toped with a sig red dot that co witnesses with my irons and I have a Tailhook mod 2 brace on it which is the absolute BEST brace you can get IMHO..... I reload so I have supers n subs for it and its a lot of fun to tinker with! I really like that chrono and for the money and I’m going to order one myself today just to tinker with. Again thanks for sharing all the content you do, its more involved then most think!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
