You'd be surprised at how thick of a weedbed you can work a 10-inch solid ( non-jointed) Believer lure crankbait through. Hook the line to the shallow eye and work it like a jerkbait through the weeds. If the lure hits weeds, stop and let the lure float back to the surface. Then start your retrieve again. You'll need a stiff, heavy power fast action rod to work the lure properly. Done right, you can get the lure to dance along the water surface and then dive down into weed pockets. This is possible because the lure is very buoyant. Again, if it hits weeds, give the Believer some slack and let it float out of the weeds. Hope this helps.
P.S. with some Believer lures, you might have to add a small bell sinker to the front hook hanger, 1/4 or 1/2 oz. (experiment) This forces down the lure nose and helps it dig into the water a little more and helps stabilize the belly roll.
Oh, I agree, you can work a lot of different float/dive lures, like minnow baits, Suicks , Bobby Baits etc. through very thick submerged weeds. But when you are dealing with thick surface weeds, like lily pads or duckweed, it is very hard to get anything with treble hooks through there.
No, on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits there are just single hooks that ride with the point facing up, so they go through the weeds very easy. I can't remember ever losing one in the weeds.
That's a nice shiny musky, congrats!

I owe you an apology. I made the assumption that you didn't know about other lure options. Sorry about that.
Weedless
My concern with weeds is I’ll get stuck and loose my tackle … do you leave the hook inside the plastic and thus it’s seedless?
