Had 2 Stockwells, the Werbeski and a team skate. And felt the quality go down each team essentially. But these ones look solid. I'm gonna try them after being off Xsjado for years.
Great video, thank you! you said that you are considering going one size down, did you try a smaller one yet? I am 42 with mondo 26.5, I picked the 42 liner which is 26.8 and I feel some extra room in the toebox, however, the 41 liner is 26 cm only and it might not be enough - that's what I've heard from powerslide too
Great review! I ride a pair of Latimers and issues with the ratchet strap keep me up at night. Seriously considering these. (Or making a frankenskate with spare parts!)
i always used to downsize xsjadows, cause i'm 43, so 42,5 wraps fit me just right what's more 2.0 souls in size S were designed for 42,5, but it was possible to fit in with 43 wrap 1.0 souls in size M were designed to hold 43 wrap (despite the fact M skates were sold with 42,5 max) and these info is still on all sizing charts with new Latimers wraps were made too puffy (with a nice idea to make them better placed inside a skeleton) but you can't downsize now, 43 wrap just too big to get in a 42 skeleton (even if it's said those suppose to fit M 1.0 plates, cuffs...) not to mention that now we don't have half-size options like 42,5 seems like now it's not possible to fit a 43 eclipse liner in 42 skeleton also not only because of puffy bottom, but cause of a different height too please, tell me that i'm mistaken at this point (cause i really want to be here) in conclusion we kinda have half of downsizing possibilities and i totally understand the fact that i'm in those 1-3% of xsjado lovers facing that issue, but, please, don't get me wrong, from my pov shadows now are less about "giving right to evolve" than xsjados were..
@stassavin3554 I would say that if your a 43, it may be possible to downsize to a 42 as the new mold is a wider fit. That will get you down into the Small soul plate.
I still ride the original latimer footwrap. Would you say the new latimer footwrap has more toe box space, in comparison yo the original footwraps, to allow toe splay?
Great video ! I'm thinking of getting back into skating after a 20 year hiatus and these caught my eye, but never skated shadows before. Do you think it would be easier to get use to them considering I haven't skated hardboots in so long ?
@krautfox9818 I think it would be harder if you were skating hardboots right now, but since you have been off skates for a while then they wont feel so foreign. These are probably the most 'normal' feeling Shadows so far, meaning they feel more like a traditional softboot (maybe like K2) when compared to older Xsjado models.
Well done
Can't wait to have one!
Love this video

Better than a review 👏. Because you explain the skate and the functions. Powerslide/ usd should have done something like that for a long time.
@gooutoffashion thanks for the feedback!
Amazing insight, I'm looking at them as a first timer.
@@mooboyj they are great skates if you invest the time!

@@WilksRides thanks for the feedback! What issues with the ratchet strap specifically?
@@mattdudley7870 It keeps breaking on me when I overflex on topsides or hit obstacles. The ladder specifically

@longtermsquatter I would say slightly wider yes, but not by a massive margin.

Can you change the soul plate and cuff that’s all I wanna know😂
