As a fan I was prepared for a few years of middling W-L records as long as the team showed direction and heart. I figured we would eventually end up with some talent (which we did) and that talent would make us competitive again. What I can't abide is a squad with no discernible offensive or defensive identity that plays with sporadic effort and seems disorganized. This is a coaching problem.
Kenny is now blaming fans for his abysmal performance. On top of being incompetent he is delusional. You’ve embarrassed yourself on the court and now you’re embarrassing yourself off of the court. Just take your millions and leave.
It's nice to hear Coach Payne getting to respond and speak from the heart and in complete sentences and not soundbites. Judge Webb gave us another, perhaps real view of the coach.
Coach Payne makes some good points, I have been a fan since the 70s , i watched both these guys play, Louisville has been thru a lot the last 10 years, I wanted things to work out for Kenny, I wonder if this mess at Louisville will EVER end.
Lots of excuses for why he didn’t get the job done. The idea that the program was “broken beyond broken” is absurd. Bottom line is that if the reality of Kenny Payne was even remotely close to the Legend of Kenny Payne - he wouldn’t be getting (deservedly) canned.
