I used to live in Australia and there was a case where a mother and baby were walking around a park in QLD Brisbane, the mother was walking, and a magpie swooped the mother and baby and the mother tripped and accidentally throws her baby into the lake and unfortunately the water was drained, and the child fell done a passed away and the area the baby died they made it into a grave, but the baby was alive
The best way to prevent a swooping is to go in that area before the season starts and feed them. They are smart birds and will recognise you as a source of food rather than threat...if you’re a tourist though good luck
