Aw it's a shame this one wasn't for you. I love the horror feel of it. Vessel singing through his teeth, the whispers in the background, the spooky magical outro. It's got an industrial quality too. Makes me think of an evil entity sealed in a lab, and breaching containment.
This song gives you a whole new perspective when performed live. I wasn't really attracted to this song at first, but after watching them perform it in concert, it quickly became a repeater. It's one of their most popular when performing and they do it at every show. I just saw them this week and let me say, the entire venue erupted so loud that it made you cringe, but in a good way 😅. It's amazing how good they are live. This song to me, the only way i could describe the way he drags out his words is like he's singing in slow motion if that makes sense 😅. There are a couple of songs like this one where he elingates his eords, but you are correct when you say each song is different. 💯 😂. Not like AC/DC where each song is the same as the last with different lyrics 😅. Don't get me wrong, i love AC/DC, they're just a different vibe and i have to be in a mood to listen to them. But Sleep Token keeps you on your toes and engaged. Nice one.... looking forward to more. Worship
I never really gelled with this song either until I listened to II’s isolated drum version and I really gained an appreciation for how it’s a masterclass in drumming and also a kind of back and forth between the vocals. This full version is a classic example of how Vessel treats each word like a whole song in itself, it’s like he crafts each syllable and brings each word to life in a different way.
One thing i’ll say about ST songs that don’t immediately hit is that you might love it after a few listens. There have been plenty that I immediately wrote off, but listened to a few more times & now i love them. But hey not every one can be a winner
Funnily, this was the song that got me into sleep token--and because of vessel's voice and enunciation as well! it can be quite off-putting, but I think it's that haunting sound that captured me. but agreed, it can be disappointing when your expectations are so so high for this band and it doesnt quite hit
We need to Forget our preference… the world isn’t chipotle where you pick what you want and leave what you don’t … just take what the chef is cooking and be glad we’re getting to see this bands rise during our lives. They got where they are doing what they do,,, not serving up what every random Opinion would prefer, but following their art, inspiration, And a lot of work and trial and error. Vessel and vessel 2 are nothing short of musical genius. Lions don’t take advice from lambs.
I am shocked people would choose mesmerize over Alkaline! Personally I think Mine, The Love You Want and Fall for Me are much better if we want to be subjective. This is good and unique but i think it was suited more for II (2) the drummer to get his kicks in. Watching them last night in Pittsburgh was unreal btw if you’re close I recommend you see the show. 90 minutes is more than I’ve seen a single band perform and their backup singers go hard.
I’d suggest just listening to their songs from their Take Me Back to Eden album. Hypnosis was from their second album which had a different vibe. Their three albums are a trilogy telling an epic story.
I actually like Will Ramos (Lorna shore singer) cover better than the original. Maybe check it out and see how you feel about it. I also like Will’s cover of chokehold better than sleep token. Man y’all are sleeping on Falling In Reverse, Bad Omens and Bring Me the Horizon!!!

I think his delivery is supposed to be like 'hypnosis' and it's a really big song for II as he really shows his chops on the drums in this song.
I felt kinda like that on this one at first too but it's grown on me I time. I have 2 words for y'all.....GRANITE & RAIN. 😌 love the S.T. ❤💤🛌🎖🛣🌧

Very partial to seeing Hum get some 90s love. "Stars" was their biggest track.
