Great video Glenn! I have a question. The music examples are coming out of Noteperformer? Do you use a soundlibrary in combination with Noteperformer (noteperformer playing back engines). And if so which one and if not, why not?
@@JanKleinSwormink Thank you. The playback through the full piece is a mockup recorded in Digital Performer using Spitfire Chamber Strings Pro, Cinematic Studio Woodwinds, My Vibes from Fluffy Audio because I like the control over the motor, and the harp is from East West. Some of the short examples like the staccato bassoon and pizzicato cellos are coming directly from NotePerformer. I’ve found that the playback coming from NotePerformer has been sufficient for mockups for some directors that are musically savvy, it saves a step and a lot of time if the score is to be ultimately recorded by live musicians. I highly recommend NotePerformer, it just works seamlessly in the writing/notation process with Dorico and other popular notation programs. It gives you a very good representation of how the final product will sound. That being said mockups today have gotten to point of being almost finished productions so knowing what the director is expecting to hear is important.
@@JanKleinSwormink Also, I haven’t tried any of the NotePerformer playback engines with third party sample libraries though I’ve heard some decent examples of playback with them from other composers. I’m happy to use NotePerformer without the playback engines since it works without any fuss, sounds good, and in the end I’lll either record with real instruments, or use a DAW and samples, or a combination of both to produce a final product.
Forever impressive and mysterious.🎶
Thank you, this project has been very musically fulfilling. Thanks for all the support!
