Thank you so much! My hubby and I are Cambridge Residents and are new to this ❤
I am so glad to find your channel. I live in Toronto and as a new hunter I really needed someone to show how and where are some good hunting spots. Thumbs up for you.👍👍
You're a good man. We all sincerely appreciate you!
I had this video saved for almost a year. I just got to it now. Thanks treecamps for sharing. I'm expecting my pal in the next week or so. Got my hunting license and picked out a ruger 10/22 to start out with. Good luck to all you new hunters and enjoy. Thanks again Treecamps for posting this
This is an amazing video. Hunters usually do not disclose their hunting spots or info regarding crown land and as a new hunter (passed my hunter's exam 3 days ago), I thank you for sharing valuable info. Subscribed!!!
Thank you! Glad I could share these spots I found around southern Ontario area. This will be my second year hunting and my first year with a firearm, Super excited! All the best! Thank you!
@@TreeCamps - Thanks and I hope you fill your tags, Good luck, and don't forget to upload your hunt videos. 👍
Very helpful man, thank you! I wish more people made videos like this for new hunters in Ontario.
Awesome video. Really well done - great info, great maps - awesome job overall. Thanks so much.
Fantastic info… for the new hunters out there, nice job Tree Camps
Great that you found some good spots where you are. It's good that you're researching before you head out. An amazing number of hunters up here just west of Algonquin Park, and we've just had our first snowfall too, but research first, to make sure that hunting is done where it's permitted = we see a LOT of hunters parked on sides of back roads where there's no crown land or conservation area, but is along residential areas, and it makes us wonder why they are there. Thanks for being responsible, .. and good luck in your hunt. Enjoyed the video. Glenn & Maureen
Thank you! The ministry is all over around where I live. I’m learning to be extra careful to follow the rules.
This is fantastic, thank you!
As a relatively new hunter the only places I currently know are private lands owned by friends near North Bay. They have lots of deer and grouse up there but I can't drive ~4 hours every weekend to try my luck. I live in KW/ Cambridge area and found your channel and this video while googling, "grouse in sw ontario ". This has been a HUGE help!
Thanks for the video brother! Not many people share their hunting locations. I normally don't write comments but couldn't resist this time. Great job!
Thank you man on this tips ! Tnx for sharing and letting other people know for places not lot of people wanna help out new hunters,if i bump in to u somewhere u definitely getting a beer ! Good luck ! All the best man!
Amazing as a new hunter around GTA all information is in one vlog....
Awesome ..Ryan it is great places close to us . I hear Holland Mash yes ... it is pure bush .. wow .
Looking forward to checking out the places I missed. Already excited for next year, been limited and learning this year. Thanks for all your support.
I’ll have to keep these spots in mind once I do my Hunter course and cfsc
Hey man great video. I’m in Brantford, new to hunting, so this was a great place for me to look into local spots to take my .62 cal/20 gauge flintlock.
Excellent video, very helpful. I'm a brand new hunter from Hamilton and I've found it difficult to find land for shooting and hunting anywhere south of Kawartha and Peterborough areas. It's also frustratingly hard to find the actual rules about target shooting on public land, everything I read is about hunting not recreational shooting.
Hey dude. I was out yesterday and saw a Crown Land sign on the south side of Safari Rd between Valens and Westover Rd. Looks promising, Marsh and White Pine stands.
Awesome tips! I would like to know more about hunting north of Lake Superior. I’m from Michigan. Can I hunt in the crown land there?
Hey man
Thanks for sharing all regarding hunting places which is really helpful for beginners .
Thanks man, now I have some areas to check out for grouse in the fall. I usually go up to the Soo but 10 hour drive isn’t always doable lol. Good info man 👍🏼
Thank you for comment. Glad I could help. Maybe I’ll see ya around in the fall! Looking forward to year 2 hunting and fishing!
I live in Northeastern Ontario and for some amazing hunting check out Temagami (and surrounding area). Great hunting no matter what you're looking to fill up your freezer with :)
Rabbit Lake road is my favourite. I can’t wait to explore more that’s around there. Thanks for sharing!!
@@TreeCamps rabbit lake road and Red Squirrel Road are the best. Also Roosevelt Road (closer to latchford). 3 hidden gems for some of the best hunting in Northern Ontario
I just found the place in Cayuga but it didn't look like it did in your video. Where did you park?
It is worth mentioning that Fingal Wildlife Management only allows hunting of certain small game (pheasants, bunnies and squirrels only I think), and field dressing/processing is strictly prohibited. Hunting only occurs at southern part of the property which covers only 1/3 of the park. It is a shame because pheasants are mostly seen at the northern part.
Thank you for the information!
Love your content! This is great info, i hunted a lot in the northern ontario as i find southern part gives too many problems. Maybe i will see you in the woods one day bro
Great video Thanks!
I got turkey tags but don't know which crown land can I hunt for turkey
The deadline is very close... does Copeland forest have turkeys?
Thank you so much me as new hunter I appreciate your video and I would like to meet you with my four friends ❤️
are you only allowed to hunt small game from 30mins before sunrise and 30 mins after sun set?
Thanks for the information. Please try to share public hunting spot in East end.
Super helpful video. I'm in Kitchener going to check a few of these places out.
love to see an Essex County video:)
When hunting at Beverly Swamp, is there a specific entrance that you usually use? I poked around on Google maps a bit and couldn't find anything other than some small trails from roads.
I thought I'd ask before I head down just so I have more of an idea.
There is a parking lot I use the most just down the road from Kirkwall on Safari. And the other parking lot is about a kilometre further down safari just past valens.
Hello Sir, I like your skill and videos. They are amazing. I’m living nearby your city, and I’m new to this country. I’m so much interested in hunting. Can you please teach me where to get started, including what all legal requirements i need for small game. (Looking for airgun hunting)
Hey man I m a new hunter and tryed to find the Cayuga spot you talked about in the video but I couldn’t seem to find it
excellent resource. thanks. the crown land atlas is useless for finding small pieces of crown land tucked away in places like this, they are listed "private" lands. now i need one of these for a bit further south in the chattam-kent/essex areas :)
Thank you. I’ll probably make an updated video when I can. Once I’ve found a number of new hidden places. Thanks for comment!
It would be great if you could post videos about hunting land for sale in Ontario.or videos from paid hunting lands and price ranges. I appreciate the time you spent for this ,great videos and editing.
I like Hullett Marsh. I always see game there. I'll catch some eventually.
As far as I know haldimand county (Cayuga is part of) has a band on discharging firearms now. Let me know if I’m wrong or not
Thank you Sir !!!!
First time watching, I live in Brantford right around most of these areas but I’ve never hunted before. I was wondering how I should get started. I am 21 so I should be able to get whatever licenses or memberships I need but I am mostly wondering about what I need for a gun license or hunting license and what I would need tags for. Since I haven’t hunted I would likely benefit from a guide of some kind if there any recommendations for either this season or some time next year! If anyone has any suggestions it is greatly appreciated!
I would google hunting license brantford and hopefully something comes up. I ended up emailing someone that way and they replied a week later with info for the course needed. I’m waiting for gun license to get approved but I have my hunting license, so I’ve been using a crossbow for all kinds of game. Its a couple hundred bucks and a 2 day course for hunting and gun license. Then it takes a couple months to get your gun license in the mail. Best of luck! Any more questions, let me know. Thanks!
Nice video, i use the iHunter app very helpful too
Do we have to pay for it if we going hunting to this area?
Thank you for this video man.
Iive in Innisfil which is 30 minutes to Copeland Forest, and Holland Marsh. New to hunting. If you hunt either I wouldn't mind hunting with you, especially for grouse or rabbit.
Great video man! I'm curious how busy Cayuga and Safari Road get during whitetail season
@@TreeCamps I just went looking for that spot in Cayuga but I couldn't find it.
Where can i find the maps from your video image?
👍
Very well done thank you
Hey, I'm in the GTA looking for some level-headed people to go hunting with. Really enjoyed your video, information, and demeanor. Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands on a trip of yours.
Live in Scarborough, it is any close place to get a deer?
Not specifically but you have a ton of crown land and hunting properties not too far to your north/east. Gotta do the time on the web to find spots.
Thank so much. Navigating the crown land policy Atlas has been horrible.
Beverly swap it is allowed to do target practice there ?
No target practice allowed there. I would recommend silverdale gun club, walk in Wednesdays. It’s tough finding somewhere to practice shoot. I’ve driven north I’m the past or gotta find someone with private land out of town.
Great video. Nice to have somebody very local to me posting stuff like this. If you every want get out there with someone else let me know.
Thank you! Shoot me a message this coming season in the fall and we could get out for a hunt!
Thank you for this video. I already applied to some provincial parks as per your suggestion.
Do you know if Cayuga requires any permit or is it general crownland and can be access without any permit.
As a new hunter, I have a lot of questions like where to park car?
Can someone please reply if anyone went to Cayuga as that's about only 1 hr 20 mins far from Mississauga and I am planning to go this weekend
Hey, Cayuga is general crown land so good to go. Follow direction in video and it’s easy to find. Parking is just the side of the road.
Thank you for replying back. Do you know if it is allowed to discharge firearm at cayoga?
We were not sure so went to crownland up Berrie near hardy lake provincial park
How did you find the crownland for Cayuga? I tried the crown land atlas and it showed all areas around cayuga as private land. just wondering if there is another map out there im not seeing
I was hiking the grand river from end to end on the grand valley trail. Happened to be walking by on one of the many road sections of trail.
This is great just subbed.. got my rpal 2 years ago thinking about getting out to hunt soon too.
Thank you! I love being out in the woods stealth all day hiking and hunting for my supper. Enjoy my friend! Thanks for commenting!
Tree Camps what part of Beverly swamp did u see that turkey?
The forest on the south side of safari or north?
South lot on safari, closest to Kirkwall. Was at the back edge by bean field. Also, Heard a gobble one time when I was in my tree stand in the middle of that lot.
I love that place on safari road, Hyde tract
Hey bro awesome videos and tip for the budding hunter. Any new vids for this hunting season?
can you please make a video showing how to tell which land is huntable in Ontario. I understand the WMU cart from the hunting regulations however to my understanding it conflicts with municipal regulations in some instances. If you could make a video that shows how to locate land for hunting purposes and what to look for along the roadways that indicate the land is huntable it would be greatly appreciated!
There isnt many places in southern Ontario. I mentioned a lot of them in this video. Look for crown land sign. I'll try make more videos like you ask. Thanks for comment!
Great info. Thanks for the video!
you are the best man
Hey I’m just getting into bow hunting do you know if Hyde is decent and if it’s busy there
Simcoe County Forest, Gray County Forest, Duffren County forest, many many places, for deer, small game and turkeys. Holland marsh ,no pheasants brother I do live in Bradford I know the area.
@Tree Camps grouse depends...some places but not to many, cottontails use to be a lot but coyotes put their numbers down. For snowshoe hares Gray County is good and you can still find European Hare there ,Feversham area and many more places there. Brother from Bradford to Owen Sound I hunt a lot and public land is abounded just you have to do homework
Do i need to purchase a membership to hunt calton swamp ? I'm new to hunting and would love to go out and try for grouse
I live in John wise not far from the fingal conservation area , I hunt all around their lots of deer, have not hunted the crown land yet though
Thanks seems to be in and North and East Ontario you can actually go with rifles for hunting west is bow only
was the area outside of Tillsonburg on John wise deer hunting allowed or just small game?
I was always wondering if there is wild pheasant in Ontario to hunt
I was mistaken about the pheasant. There is grouse and morning dove around. The only pheasant hunting I’ve down around here was at game bird farm.
What kind of app do you use too find these Lublin land hunting spots?
@@TreeCamps oh really eh I am having the hardest of times with the Google atlas
Does anyone know a good Crownland location for long range shooting within 3 hours drive from GTA?
I would say anywhere north of north bay. Where I go around Tamagami you can spot and stalk for days. Endless crown land and lakes. Your looking at closer to a 4 hour drive north.
Are you allowed to target practice on crown land?
Up north you can buy all the crown land I know of around southern Ontario always says no target or practice shooting. My recent upload I went up north just to target shoot on crown land.
@@TreeCamps thanks man. Cheers. Gonna take the hunting course asap! I want to try rabbit adobo. And fried squirrel!
Hey man, I used to hunt up north on Crown Land more. Now I've moved to Erin, Ontario and hunt mostly Hullet Marsh. I won't mind ever linking up and talking about your experiences and getting to know South Western ON more when it comes to hunting, lands and great trails. Keep in touch man....Wayne.
Ya, buddy. That would great. I’m looking forward to this falls hunting season.
Tree Camps why don't you make haunting club so we could help each other by sharing information, experience and enjoyment free.
Thank you for your sharing, highly appreciated.👍
Does foreigner or tourist who comes from other country can be allowed to buy and own gun or borrow gun for hunting in Canada?
Is there agent or consultant whoever can do help?
Especially, I prefer to geese and ducks hunting.
Thank you very much.
Have a nice season.
Google migratory birds Canada or ministry of natural resources and the province.
Copeland is close to me. A lot of hikers, though.
Can you use ruger 10/22 in this crown land ?
Most places. There’s a lot at Beverly swamp that’s shotguns only. I believe its because they have a natural gas plant there.
Hey bud, I also live in your area. I am fairly new to hunting, always been more of an angler. Thanks for the video I have been looking for areas to bow hunt grouse. If you are ever looking for a person to join you. I'm all in
Shoot me a message on Instagram or email treecamps@gmail.com maybe we can set up a hunt later in the season.
Is there any firearm discharge laws for the rockton area? Can i hunt grouse with shotgun/22 there?
Theres 2 lots and the lot near the natural gas place is shotguns only but, I would double check with proper authorities.
wow, 166 comments. I think everyone is looking for land to hunt in southern Ontario. i am close to London, lots of places here will require insurance and will only allow bow hunting.
Hi, are this private properties or public for hunting .
@@TreeCamps thank you so much for letting me know , you are very helpful. for beginners what animals can you hunt in these locations in the video other than turkey ?
When I’m season you can hunt whatever. No additional restrictions as far as I know. Sometimes places will be shotgun only because typically the bullets don’t go as far as a rifle. Just Beverly swamp is like that as far as I know.
Great video.
Thank you for the great video I'm just wondering where that place in Cayuga is I live I live close to there I've never seen it or heard of it can you help me out
The best way to explain is to head south on river road from Cayuga, 9 km and there is some crown land signs on the right.
No name. Not on any maps. Happened to hike past it one day or I would’ve never seen the crown land signs.
I’m waiting for firearms license in mail so using a crossbow it’s pretty difficult to get a good shot at small game. I did get a squirrel at Calton. Both places look good for sure. Weather is a key element to watch for predicting if game will be out. Can’t wait to get a shotgun and do some rabbits:)
that is me driving by in the turkstra truck at 2:57..........
Hey man I’m literally right down the road from hullett
Thank you so much for this
Make sure to pack LOTS of snacks and drinks for all your new friends you'll find sitting in your favorite spots.
Good Luck...I predict long drives in your future, looking for small game for your table.
Glad I don't hunt southern Ontario.
I’m happy to have helped out new hunters. Like steve renella said we need to help new hunters and get more people in the sport for a variety of reasons. My local spot has been a bit busier since making this video 3 years ago but I still have no problem getting game. I never gave away all my spots or spots I’ve found since, just these easy to find places on the internet.
I am in Rockwood area.. know any spots for deer?
I think there’s lots of deer throughout southern and central Ontario. It takes some time scouting hunting grounds to figure out there routs and bedding areas. Good fun though! Look for sign like scrapes on the ground or small trees, that’s how they mark there territory. Look for oak trees and near bean and corn fields and find out where they travel. Good luck!
Sorry... I meant crown land... I can't figure that part out also.. Thanx though!!
Anyone know of any hunting grounds near Windsor I’m new to hunting and looking for land please let me know
Apparently not much down there. I have a couple hunting buddies from Windsor and they have to get closer to London to find spots.
do I need a hunting licence to hunt with a airgun(legal)?
Yes, you do. I recommend joining the club! Hunting with a crossbow or air rifle you don’t need a gun license, just hunting license. I recommend getting both though! It’ll change your life!
Thanks for this! As a new hunter it isn't easy to look for places that's close to the city to hunt. I'm glad people still share tips and areas online
Hey I;ve been scouting some of these areas, and Ièm also a novice hunter if youèd like to get together for a hunt
itzko1 Any interest in dove hunting? I’m hoping to get out mid season this year and haven’t found anywhere yet.
@@kristiannesbeth2414 Sure, lets connect
I'm relatively new to the GTA from Niagara. Was looking for small game hunting (rabbits etc.) spots outside the city. Also, looking too connect with other hunters too let me know!
