Thank you for watching and for the kind words! - Van
Regarding the com unit install, I actually just recently picked up a Corsa R, and was able to mount my Cardo Freecom 4 using the standard clip mount and sticky mounts internally, for each of the JBL speakers. There is enough room on each side of the helmet sunken beneath the cheek pads where I don’t feel them once I put the helmet on. Can’t say all com units would work, and maybe with my particular head shape and fitment with the helmet I was able to make it work, but for what it’s worth, I didn’t have to struggle much at all to find a way to do it 😃
Thanks for sharing your experience. When I use a bluetooth device in a helmet (we do this on our snowmobile helmets) I prefer to use a helmet prepped to accept it. - Van
Always a top notch review!!!
Titanium D rings! That should be worth a second per lap!
100% - Van
I want to commend you on a highly informative video, really well put together and very professional! It gave me the confidence to purchase this helmet it answered every question I was thinking about and more. Going with the matte carbon to match my Diavel 1260S. -Thx...
Happy to help and thanks for watching! - Van
If you have a hand signed helmet from Valentino Rossi you are truly blessed
Agreed
That will stay in the Van family forever. - Van
Hi Van, Thank you for your great detailed reviews!! The best out there.. I come and watch your videos even if I don't need to buy... keep it up!!!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! - Van
Interesting, than Brian, the custom fitting included pads seems very helpful. I've shoved so many wads of padding in my Schuberth SC2 to raise the viewing area over the years, and kept thinking. This is ludicrous, why don't they include proper shaped and durable pads you can stick in there.
This was a good idea for sure. It would be cool to see other top end helmets come with pads like this so you do not have to buy parts to adjust the fit. - Van
Hey Van! Watching this video years later.. but i could still use your advise!
i'm on the move to buy a AGV pista, and i measure 57cm, should i go with the medium? or size down into a small for that tight feeling? or what would u suggest?
Their size chart is pretty accurate and 57 puts you in a medium. I would start there and wear it for a bit in the house before you ride in it to make sure you are happy with the fit. I would expect the small to be too tight. - Van
I'm carrying a good bit of timber.. when I get back to my healthy weight I'm buying one of these for the k13...nice lid.
This is an excellent helmet for sure. - Van
The size chart says 58cm (same as me) is MS, yet you mentioned ML. Has this changed since you made the video? Great content by the way! 👍
To get the fit I prefer I wore a MS. With the adaptive fit liner it comes with I would suggest going with the ML at 58 then adjusting the fit as needed. I really like my helmet tight which is why I went with the MS. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thanks Van. 👍
Hey man, can you please show us how the water system connects to the camelbak drink bag? Thanks
Pretty sure it is a simple connection made at the helmet from the water bladder supply hose. Can be used with a backpack style on the street or a race suit that holds the bladder in the hump. - Van
MS? Measured 22.5 inches. Got a ML in an Agv k6 and it’s kinda loose. But I want this helmet
Yes I would go with the MS in this helmet at 22.5". - Van
You can definitely install a communication in them...It’s not as easy as a Shoei X14 but definitely can be done. I have them in my Pistas and Corsas. 👍🏼
I am sure you can but I am not sure I would want to. - Van
Would not cut up my Pista lol
@@shawnlack1527 what are you cutting?
Hi! Thank's for the quality of the video!
I have a shoei nxr (x-14) Do you think a GP RR has the same shape?
I would say the interior shape of the 2 helmets is pretty close. For sure both intermediate oval. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thank's a lot for your answer !
Would you say this is a better helmet to the SHOEI X-Spirit 3 ? I had my SHOEI for a while (which was a great Helmet) and need to get a new helmet. Is this AGV a good upgrade to justify the extra cost over the SHOEI ?
I think the Shoei X-15 is the best helmet on the market. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear thanks Van. I’ll look at the new x-15. I’d love to buy from your shop, but I’m based outside of USA.
Thanks for all the good videos man, the tips and knowledge is invaluable.
Great review, how noisy is it in the street?
As most people I don’t know which one should I go with agv pista gp rr or shoei x14 , your recommendation please?
Shoei X-14 is much quieter than the Pista. - Van
For someone who swears by the fit of his Shoei X12, would the new Pista be an equally decent fit or does AGV require some bit of compromise on a Shoei head? Asking since I am on the fence for a new lid and cant decide between this and the known devil X14.
The interior shape and the helmet fit is similar between all of the helmets noted but there are for sure differences. I just put on my X12 (first time in a long time) followed by the other 2. I would say the X14 is closer to the X12 than the AGV. Hope this helps. - Van
thanks Van for your effort and prompt reply. This is why you guys are my go-to store for all motorcycling needs 😃
Can you review the shark race r pro gp? It's the one with the spoiler.
We will review this one when Shark decides to bring them into the US. - Van
Nice video sir. I’m planning to buy helmet and confused between Agv pista gp rr and X lite helmet 803 rs which one would you recommend me to buy? Thanks
IMO the Pista is a better helmet than the X-Lite. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thanks sir😁
hey bro, measured my head and came up to 58cm was wondering why you went with MS instead of ML
I like for my helmet to be as tight as possible and I was able to get into the MS without any strong pressure points. The ML also fit well, just preferred the tighter fit of the MS. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear : I measured my head, twice by following your directions in a previous video that you presented; I came up with 23"/58cm too. I wear eyeglasses, so I *think* to avoid prolonged pressure from ear-loop-skull, I should tilt toward ML(?) Thanks for the in-depth review; I have no use for the "unboxing" videos by the look-what-I-got crowd. I've been using NRR32 & NRR33s for decades, so as long as the end of the day I can yank them out and scratch my ears like a mutt with fleas, I'm happy. Thanks.
The foam is epo I think, better than eps but heavier.
This helmet is using standard EPS. Same material found in most helmets. The Bell Race Star uses 3 layers: EPO (expanded polyolefin), EPP (expanded polypropylene) and EPS (expanded polystyrene). - Van
Now that I’m watching this again years later doesn’t 58cm put you in a MS? Chain kit from your site doing great btw
AGV has now revised their sizing for this helmet model. In it's current form the Medium fits the 57-58cm with the previous sizing having the Medium Small fitting 57-58cm. - Van
Question about the decals on the helmet. Are the white description notations and lines over or under the clear coat? i.e. can they be removed?
They are all under the clear coat. - Van
Hi Van, I own a pista gp r are the head and cheek pads of the gp rr is still compatible? Regarding the dark visor on your corsa helmet, is this the standard dark tinted or add extra tint film? It look alot dark than one I have. Thank you
The shield is a standard dark smoke shield with no additional tint added. I do not expect the interior from the GP R to fit into the GP RR. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear thanks 🙂
I’m a beginning motorcycle rider! THE most important aspect is safety when purchasing a helmet. FIM Homologation/ECE 22.06 is critical in my purchasing decision. Could car less about aesthetics, ergonomics or cost.
Our standard here in the US is Snell. We do have some brands that import using the ECE with DOT. - Van
Would you say it is a step up from shoei x-14? Do you really notice any difference between the two helmets?
They are very similar in terms of performance IMO. Sure they are a little different, that said they are both awesome. - Van
do you suggest this in thhe iridium colour or gloss black?
The Iridium is amazing but it has been discontinued and sold out. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear not at my local store
Brother plzz tell which one is best agv pista gprr or scuberth c4 pro carbon and can I ride with agv pista gprr on street and long toures please tell me iam confused in both
You can use the Pista on the street for sure. I have not ridden in or seen the C4 from Schuberth so I can not comment on that one. - Van
What is the third helmet at the top of the screen please? The red and white one
That is my HJC RPHA 11 Pro Spiderman helmet! - Van
Hey bro I just got my pista gp RR my head size is 59 so I picked a ML but I realized my chin sticks out a bit is that fine?
Yes that should not be a problem as long as you feel like you are getting a good fit from the helmet. At 59cm the ML should be the right size for you. - Van
Is it a huge step up from the Pista GP (without R)?
No not a massive change IMO. If you like the Pista you will also like this helmet. - Van
No speaker poclets?
This was designed to be a high end race helmet more than a street helmet. - Van
Can i buy your corsa soleluna pleaseeee
Sorry this is one of my favorites and is not for sale. - Van
Uma pena, capacete de mais de R$10.000,00 e não ter uma viseira bem projetada. fica baixando toda hora sozinha. Ja troquei reparo duas vezes e nao resolveu.
No hablo
Question how does the limited numbers helmets work is it size MS 200-3500 and say size L have the the 200-3500 and so fourth I hope I’m explaining this correctly
Sorry this question is not really clear to me. I would send this directly to AGV Helmets to get the most accurate answer. - Van
Does size MS come have 3500 size S have 3500 and so fourth
FIM homologation not relevant? Curious to hear that...when sometimes we hear you talk about importance of safety...these are the highest standards you will probably find in the the industry...they keep guys like Valetino Rossi & Marquez safe. Why not discuss it? This is a standout feature for sure.
I feel like both Snell and the ECE certs are both excellent. Scorpion also has FIM approval with their EXO-R1 Air. - Van
Fim is not required for everyone on the road
@@pravesh736 Fim is not required at all for the road! so? That does not invalidated that it has higher standards than Snell or ECE! I see that you are missing the point....let me help....do all sport cars have roll cages? is it mandatory in the car industry? nop! yet in several sports cars championships it's mandatory....do you need further drawing?
@@sportbiketrackgear The problem is that you can't buy it!
Awesome helmet! I'll wait a couple years to get it when the price is down to $500.
With the retail as high as it is now it is not likely to dip that low ever. If you want a great helmet in the $500 range I would suggest taking a look at the new Scorpion EXO-R1 Air Helmet. I am really impressed with this one, love riding in it. Here is a link to a review if you're interested: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/scorpion-exo-r1-air-corpus-helmet/#pv__tabs - Van
Good luck.
Haha that will never happen...maybe in 10 years getting one used up...
@@sportbiketrackgear thx for the reply but not looking for a new one yet. Already have the shoei x14 and agv corsa r.
@@JDSPerformance25 come on man you never know hahaha
nice one
Thanks for watching! - Van
FIM is relevant if you are going to do track, which is what this helmet was made for.
Not relevant over here in the US. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Well not relevant as in obligatory I know but it is still good to know cause FIM certifications are harder to get cause of their more advance method of testing, so if it’s FIM certified then you know it’s as safe as it can be.
I like a race fit as well, but it always crumples up my ears and hurt like a bitch after 5 mins....
Grab the helmet by the straps and spread it apart just a bit when pulling it over. That should help prevent the ears from folding over. - Van
Wear a silk head cover underneath I do 👌
hi thank you for the review, but this is all talk,. without actual testing there is no proof how strong it is.
All of the helmets we offer are tested to the standards they are certified to. We do not do the testing internally. - Van
No helmet is worth 1600
If you can afford to buy it (and replace it if you fall) it is an excellent lid. If you can not afford it there are other options that sell for much less that will get you pretty close. - Van
