I had a list of covers I will post in the next months and was not sure which one to do next until I saw the Chimaira comeback in 2023 - it became an obvious choice. I recall buying the "Resurrection" CD back in 2007 with my brother when it came out and blasting it with our parents in their car against their will. What a record it was! Andols Herrick was a huge influence in my early drumming years. Such an inspiration!

Absolutely. Them and Zao. Saw chimaira with slayer in Atlanta on their God hates us all tour. Literally got booed off the stage. I was irate but ya know...what can you do?
They always got hate because their first album was considered Nu Metal. Then, when IOR came out, a lot of people didn't want to admit that they had improved and were writing better music. IOR, self-titled, and Resurrection were all flawless, in my opinion. Meaning, I liked every song on all three albums. Which is rare. Especially consecutively. When a band has one "not so great album," whether it's at the beginning, middle, or end of their career, people have trouble admitting that its not all bad. Great riffs, drums, and vocals. What more do you want!? I liked them already, but if they're good enough for Eugene, they're good enough for me!

@Rich Harris They had broken up for quite a while, but they've recently announced a couple of reunion shows. So, the chances are slim, but we can hope.

This band will never get the credit they deserve for the sheer number of facemelters they have. Do yourself a favor and go through their catalog. Their 2005 self titled album is a sledgehammer assault from beginning to end.

Much of the tightness was because of Andols Herrick and his insane rehearsal technique, with weights on his feet to make it easier when performing live. Such a shame he can't play anymore
