Exclude Object on Klipper already worked with Prusa Slicer 2.6. Output Options > Label Objects and having Exclude Object enabled on Klipper and thats it. Been that way for at least a year?
I have not seen/use that feature in 2.6, but I know it's available via octoprint. It's a major feature listed on their alpha, so they've definitely added/improved something here.
@@davetriesthis the only thing that I am aware of is the MK4, XL and I think the Mini now support object cancel. Klippers object cancel is built into the firmware and only requires the slicer name the pieces, the exclude object block in printer.cfg and there's another block in another file with one value set to true. I've never used octoprint and I don't plan to. Once enabled a button will show up in the mainsail (I assume fluidd as well) window next to pause cancel. It also works on klipperscreen but only after hitting cancel print first which is a bit odd.
@@davetriesthisI see what you are saying about the changelog but this is also simply incorrect. I have never used octoprint. As of Klipper 10, Fluid 1.19 or Mainsail 2.1 and Prusa Slicer. Exclude object works. I actually just downloaded PrusaSlicer 2.0.0 from 2019 and it works. What is different in 2.7 is the checkbox is now a drop down that is doing something new that isn't even needed? From the fluidd page (same for mainsail) Turn on Label Objects in your slicer. Add an [exclude_object] section to your printer.cfg or fluidd.cfg file. Add enable_object_processing: True to the [file_manager] section in your moonraker.conf file. Sucks that I just tested that 2.0.0 wiped my 2.6.1 confgs lol
I'm still running PrusaSlicer 2.6, and while 2.7 canceling a single item on the build plate is a great feature, I'm actually more interested in the slicer being able to emboss fonts onto random shaped prints. Normally, I'd do that in CAD. I've done that in FreeCAD but it's such a non-intuitive process that I need to watch a video every time I do it and it takes half an hour.
Which is weird as they work for me. People occasionally say they'd broken. See if this is a different link. drive.google.com/file/d/1BAM2eufKFSFsRMZLr8Q_NFzc8LRWdqJi/view?usp=drivesdk

Yep, it's been working for ages already...

It's in the release notes for 2.7 alpha. Isn't the difference that it worked via octoprint to klipper? Now it works with the fluuid interface

This function is available on the bambu x1 and is AWESOME!
You guys will love it, it's a life saver!
Great to see it coming to prusa slicer
It's the biggest reason I wish I had the x1 over the p1
Oh.. Bambu printer fails? Maybe change to a non failing printer? xD

It can handle random shapes now?!? 😍 And here I thought the cylinder/sphere embossing was more than accurate enough to normally avoid CAD.
Your dropbox and Google Drive links are 404'ing.
