I think you should give it a try moving the dishes and silverware. Easy enough to switch it back if you end up not liking it. Thanks for this video... I too am actively avoiding a stash of folders / paperwork and you've provided a long needed nudge.
Move the dining essentials you use everyday out of the kitchen and closer to the dining table. More convenient, free up counter space in the kitchen, so more prep area to cook, and you will use the table way more! Win-win-win!
Try the first drawer for your silverware and things if you don’t like it switch it back Put the strip in the second drawer with the extension cord in the third and you can move down the organizer from first drawer to second😊
What I do everyday, which may help you, is the five minute method to tidy up each room. Five minutes in each room helps me to keep things manageable. Paperwork and decluttering is a separate issue, but I use implements of time for each. It's not easy.
Try it for a few days. Me I probably wouldn't like it because it would be farther from the dishwasher. Let us know what you decide. Thanks for the decluttering video. Surprising how our paperwork looks the same.
Love how you talk thru every item, shows the thought process thru decluttering. Do you have any charity stores you can donate to besides Goodwill? Goodwill gets so much stuff. We have one that goes to a children's home that have disabilities , they even do pick ups.
Cute baby photo. The only thing I would do different is have the sorting boxes and bin bag nearer to avoid pacing back and forth....unless you don't mind the exercise 😊
You are so funny. I never have been neat but love it when the house is clean and looks uncluttered. What I have is organized clutter. My problem has been that if I have something in a pile on the table I remember where it is, but if I put it away I don't remember where I put it. My kids would always drive me crazy with the mess in their rooms. There was always clothes hanging out of the drawers or on the floor. When they were small I would clean it up and have them help, but when they got to be older it was their responsibility. My daughter was the worst with wet towels on the wood floor, dirty dishes under the bed, and piles of clothes everywhere and I was constantly on her about it. There is such a thing as Karma. After HS she joined the Navy. In A school she had a roommate who was not the neatest person. If there was so much as a bottle of shampoo sitting out in the bathroom they would be in trouble. Their closet had to have everything hung, the beds made, etc. When there was a surprise inspection her roommate would always get them in trouble. My daughter ended up getting punished along with the roommate and would have to run 2 miles around the grinder. Her comment to me was that her roommate is such a slob.
i'd need to see the corner kitchen piece you're referring to, but my initial thought is do not move the dishes/silverware to that top drawer. since you asked! LOL
Creative types have a tendency to do this. One minute I'll be a neat freak and have everything put away. 2 days later I've started 3 tasks and want the stuff handy. 😂 I get it. I'd either move the dining stuff to that top part or even put stuff I frequently use there so I could slide it away. Whatever maximizes the functionality of the space for you.
Thank you for another entertaining and motivational video... I would try the flat wear and dishes in the dining area, but you will likely move them back to the kitchen, because that is were you use them most of the time... now to finish sorting and getting rid of the trash I started dealing with over a year ago...Thank you for the reminder. ❤😂😊
Second time watching. Thought it about today. I was decluttering my Christmas decorations and stumbled on a tin I was going to recycle, but use as my trash barrel under the table in basement. I'm sorting and tossing pictures of unknown people that my father took pictures of. I thought of you that you don't have to throw all away but just repurpose or keep using the box even if it isn't in perfect condition. Also if you live where the sun really shines you can use solar lights anytime and not worry about timers. I do solar lights all year to decorate my porch. Started my bag next to washer for donations of Christmas potholders. I have decided to use to 1 in 1 out rule and now I have to out some of my dish towels and hand towels for rags. It's a full time job.🙄 Joan
I have no doubts paper has a life of its own and multiplies when we're not watching. I was also concerned about how you discarded things as 'trash'. Is there some kind of recycling facility where you can bring the mixer and other electronics and all that paper to be recycled?
U have a beautiful home 🏡. Your edits are seamless. Lovely lil’ channel💕
Thank you!

You just inspired me to tackle some paper clutter - the bane of my existence.
it gets better as you digitize ...but yes! endless
Awesome work!
trully!
Watched it twice just to support your efforts
nice!

Goodwill gets so much stuff.
We have one that goes to a children's home that have disabilities , they even do pick ups.
I don’t know. I use Goodwill because they are so good to the special needs students at the school I was at.
@@TheNewRetiredMe ❤
I watched it twice ❤
😅
Me too. 😊
yup....
My vote is to move your silverware & dishes to the side chest/table. It's a beautiful piece of furniture & the space looks great now!
☺

funny how this works!😅

That sounds like a good plan. It would give your silverware a new home.

Thanks again for sharing.

I would try a few days with the dishes on the side table, and decide if you want to keep it that way.
🤗

🤣🤣🤣 with you...
thanks again Tim

You are either very brave or shameless for exposing your 'drawers' in public! I can quite decide which LOL 😉
I think the word you’re looking for is idiot. 😂
@@TheNewRetiredMe LOL I'm glad that being of retirement age, you are old enough to get my bad pun with the alternate meaning of 'drawers.' LOL
😅😅😅
I vote for the dining side table to be used the original way it was meant to be used. I think it’s way cool!😊
☺
Do a trial run for a few weeks to test it out. You'll find out fairly quickly if it will be feasible for you on the day-to-day.
🤗
I think you should try it. You can always move it back if you don't like it.
correct!

as soon as you thought you finish decluttering...🤣
funny, but true
I would move the dishes and flatware over to the sideboard and see if you like it. You can always move it back later if you don't like it.
🤗
Suggestion you might want to shred any loan paperwork ,Ss,credit card, ect too easy for criminals to steal identities
☺
Tim you really have nice home downstairs. Watching now. Please find resale shops to donate not goodwill. I'm sure you have in your town.
depends...that Goodwill helps challenged children, so ...
I have no doubts paper has a life of its own and multiplies when we're not watching. I was also concerned about how you discarded things as 'trash'. Is there some kind of recycling facility where you can bring the mixer and other electronics and all that paper to be recycled?
The paper was shredded. Our recycling pickup won’t accept shredded paper. Go figure. 🤷♂️
@@TheNewRetiredMe same here...but I compost, so I got my solution
The item that I noticed was lighter fluid on the counter…😂😂😂
😅
