Hey Asia. Love these lights. I have 2 of them. You can actually dim the light by holding the button. So all 3 settings can also be dimmed or brightened.
I had considered this light myself though ultimately decided on the STKR Fli-Overl-Lander. Similar idea, light output, weight etc. main differences are that the STKR is 360 lighting always, has white and red light (no filters needed), has a remote (can control 2 lights at once), the light is not removable, and extends to 10’. I’ve purchased 2 and have used them on about 6 camping trips.
@@DADVNTRS I am though I did forget to mention a couple things that I have run into since my last comment. I would recommend that anyone purchasing these lights have a set of Allen wrenches ready, on a few of my last trips the screws holding the legs together have come loose and fallen off (I think adding a little loc-tite during production would help keep these in place). I have been lucky enough to find them each time and happen to have the tools with me to fasten them back on. Otherwise setting these things up would not be possible. Another thing is because of the design there is a spiraled cord that runs from the base through the collapsing tubes to the light. This means there’s no need for additional set up like assembling a tripod. When extending the light to its full height the cord is fine. However when collapsing it again to put it away for storage can sometimes be a problem. If for whatever reason you’ve twisted the light at anytime the cord will get bunched up inside and will get pinched when all the sections of tubing are collapsed. Somehow without knowing I twisted the cord and had this problem (imagine a slinky all twisted up inside a tube). I reached out to STKR to ask if there was a way to disassemble the lights to straighten out the cord and the only direction I received was to turn the light clockwise as I’m collapsing the light. It works but sometimes it’s a little so so. Also there is an o ring that sit at the base of the light. Just make sure that’s lubricated. It helps when collapsing the lights. I suppose if I knew about a couple of these things ahead of time I could’ve been better prepared. I know it seems like I’m picking them apart but other than these few small details I would still recommend the lights. I’m very please with the over all performance. I really enjoy the light output (especially when you have two, you get a ton of coverage) , the fact that you have a remote, red and white light, 10’ extension, small package, long runtime and multiple settings. I like placing one light on top of my trailer at night in case I hear something outside I just hit the button inside and I have light everywhere.
Great light, you can also just order the lightranger USB-C lantern head ($79) and their 1/4-20 adapter and put it on your own tripod, so it's much cheaper than the full kit. However once you have the light you're going to be hooked and want the rest of the bells and whistles. The tripod is very sturdy
I bought the ReadyLight (two, eventually) largely based on your review and I love them for power outages. Now I just bought two of the Devos 1200 with the motion sensor, extra battery and the filters. The motion sensor kinda acts in lieu of a remote.
WOW, about time you got with the times. I have had this light(gen 1) for over a year now and love it. I want another, but don't have the extra $ to get one. I need companies to send me free stuff.
Hahaha well I woulda reached out earlier but I got used to not using a camp light when I'm out until the last trip we were on. Plus I was waiting for their new version
I’ve been researching this for the past couple months now. Beyond camping, I can see me using this in the backyard since it is getting darker a lot sooner. Definitely buying one now. I appreciate your video. Thanks.
Yeah, these are pretty nice lights. I started with one of those UFO lights, those things are bulky and hard to put together. The devos takes up a lot less space and is simple to put up.
I would love to have the three legs individually extended, because when I'm on an unleveled ground the stand will not be adjustable, remote is missing, and what's about the end of the legs, are they some how protected against scratches? Greetings from Germany 😉
You can buy spikes for more stability. I do a lot of videography obviously so I'm thinking of bringing sandbags. They can fold away easy and when I get to camp, if it feels windy out, I can fill the sand bags and weigh it down
Yeah that sucks. I have an expensive gimbal that's like that and I think that's even worse cuz I use it a LOT and I'm hoping it doesn't die prematurely. At least with this there's an external battery you can get that can power this up somehow
No remote so every time you need to turn on or off have to bring light down. No built in red / amber LEDS so have to bring light down and back up any time because AGAIN NO REMOTE! How hard would a remote or even better a Bluetooth app have been? 2 years and they are still working on a remote. I mean come on go back to the same ChiComm manufacturer and have them add Bluetooth, a remote and color LEDs and sells 2.0.!
But in all seriousness yeah, it would be great to find a way to control the light without bringing it down. It's high up there. Amber and red built in would be great too without using filters. I'm sure that's all in the works. Good thing is they're a relatively new company and listens to ideas. I'm sure if we keep asking they'll produce.

Yep. I discovered that after I filmed the video haha. Didn't feel like refilming
My favorite camp lights. They just came out with a 360 motion detector attachment. Mine come this week can't wait to play with it.
Yeah they're sending me one to try out also!

Pros and cons to both. Why can't we have it all?! Lol
@@BaptismOverland yeah no kidding, the combination of having all the pros and none of the cons could make for a perfect camp light!
I have the same dilemma...are you 100% pumped on the FLi OVER-LANDER 10' ? Looks amazing & way I'm leaning
I have 2 of the STKR pros, and they are wonderful.

I like this but need a remote that would mount to the stand.
get the light ranger 2000
Just ordered the two light kit. Thanks!
My wife and I were having the camp light discussion this weekend. Might be time for us to step up. Thanks for the insightful review.
The trip to Overland Expo VA was the cherry on top for us. We came back with 2 lights from them. It's awesome.
I have one of these. Love it!!!
Great video!!

Yep! As a content creator I have a ton of stuff here I could use to mount this to a tripod or light stand. But I do like theirs!
I have the Tuff Stuff Overland Light and it's a great light but, It's so big and takes up soo much space to pack.
This one is so compact and QUICK to setup. I've loved it

Yep I love the motion sensor! I've placed it in a few of the videos after. BUT! Did you see the Devos 2000 is coming out?!
@@BaptismOverland I did, but the Kickstart package was good enough for me. Thanks for the review.
@@LipsMalloymore than good enough! You'll love it

Great light - love ours!
Great looking light. I wonder if the color filters will avoid attracting bugs.
It's supposed to. I'll find out in a couple of weeks

Would appreciate if you use my links in the description!!
@@BaptismOverland will do.
I’ll have some ordered this week.
I’ll be sure to use the link, my friend!
Would be cool to see more camp shots
That's coming. This is initial review. I'm taking it on my next trip in a few weeks
I bought Stkr and didnt like the build quality at all! Going to buy this one now
Maaaan I have LOVED this light for sure
Should I get these or the FLi OVER-LANDER 10' Telescoping Light with Wireless Remote which seems to have some key advantages
Not sure. I haven't reviewed that one yet.
Yeah, these are pretty nice lights. I started with one of those UFO lights, those things are bulky and hard to put together. The devos takes up a lot less space and is simple to put up.
Yep. I saw the UFO ones too and seemed like a pain as well

Love the TRAIL hoodie. What company is that from?
Venture Thread
I didn’t receive the colored filters with mine…. Aren’t those sold as an accessory?
They are yes. It's extra
How hard would it be to just grab & tilt it over to click the buttons? Not like it weighs a ton😂😂
That's what I said! But it IS high and app would be dope.
daaang, i understand what you meant on the response to my comment on the Christmas gifts video.
Yep lol.
Easy decision after that lol
@@BaptismOverland yeah, after watching your videoi got me the pack with 2 and the carrying case lol
subd. because of this vid.
The video for the new one releases this Sunday :)
Saw how much it was and I said NO!!!! I'll stick to my toxic coleman lantern , thank you
😂 you got me at toxic
Toxic 😂
IIRC the battery is non replaceable which is BS from any new electronic devices, but especially something like this.

All valid points. App control would be the most ideal.
Here at my house we say, "if you have a better idea for something go do it!"
So go do it! You'll make a killing! Maybe. Lol

@@BaptismOverland I was going to buy a second light, but maybe I will wait for an led upgrade that has the changeable LED light colors instead. 🤔
