It’s how the house gets their edge back from free doubles and splits. It’s definitely an offshoot of regular blackjack and the pot of gold can either suck you dry or pay out better than the hands.

The rules should be the same on both sides of the table. If 22 pushes for dealer it should be the same for player.

@@allcasinoaction but I mean... you only get them if your hard totals are 9-10-11. When you double down these hands chances are likely that you'll probably win, especially when the dealer shows a bust card. I wouldn't consider those free doubles / free split a statistical long-term advantage to be quite honest. The casino knows this and that's why they offer them. Same goes for Span 21 / Dream 21 - they deliberately take out 25% of the ten-value cards because they know it's a good card for the player, but added stuff like 're-splitting aces' and 'doubling after 3rd card' to entice players. Not knowing that it's so much worse for them to play a game that has 10s missing.

At my local casino they have freebet blackjack with free doubles on anything, free splits on anything(up to 4 splits), push 22. What would be the deviations from basic strategy?
If it’s free doubles on anything I’d honestly say anything that’s a 7 or high is an automatic double 🤷♂️
You had more black jacks on game that wants splits and doubles than you have on regular blackjack

@@danielcorrell406 it’s interesting I play it a lot at Choctaw, as u see the dealer gets 22 more than u realize but if u get action, mainly splits it’s a good side bet kinda funny though cause honestly the strategy goes out the window u split 5s cause u wanna get more coins worked my way up to 4 twice but never 5 coins
Free doubles and splits makes the push on 22 worth it... also, 2nd hand payout should have been $150 not $100 for the 3 to 1
