The Black Hollow Tribe might definitely play a part in this. I doubt Ulquiorra's significance is done in Bleach. My guess was always either: Hueco Mundo's desert of spirit sand being made of Hollows mean that occasionally the world itself can spit out a hollow by the sand amalgamating back into a hollow. Or The pit Ulquiorra is from and maybe another character is actually just a "portal" of some kind to hell.

The Shinigami ancestors did exactly that, usurped the universe and turned themselves and their successors into the controllers. The Spirit King was doing good in protecting humans and the weak while the ancestors only had their ambitions in mind. This is why the nobles have shown themselves to be paranoid control freaks while looking down on humans. Perhaps the powerful and even Shinigami ending up in hell is karmic equalization from the universe. Not helped that many of the Shinigami have shown themselves to be the worst of the worst, them ending up in hell is not surprising.
They did it to themselves. Like the statement "Hollows were normal creatures too" contradicts what Ichibei says next "The Universe created the Soul King as a counter to their destruction" like what? Nah y'all did something. Makes no sense the hollows were "normal" then all of a sudden Soul reapers with powers start showing up.

While I mostly agree I think you’re being a little too hard to condemn all soul reapers. Yamamoto and Unohana did really want to make things better and start over. They put their lives on the line and died for the cause. It’s cruel but it was inevitable. Same for Ukitake who sacrificed his life and was sent downstairs. It’s what the ancestors set up that even punishes the people who serve them. With his sacrifice, Reio wanted to help all beings . After the separation, everyone had a home to return to. - humans were save in world of the living - shinigami governed soul society - quincies were hidden in schattenbereich - hollows roamed through the endless deserts of hueco mundo Yhwach is a consequence of the original sin, an inevitable force of nature. Even if Ichigo and Aizen never set one foot in the seireitei, the Quincies would have returned to wreak the place one way or another.

As much as I love Yamaji and Unohana they supported the Soul society and it's foundations. They knew the truth of the world. Soul reapers protect humans from hollows and are considered heroes. If the Quincies cause a disturbance they are considered villains that need to perish. Instead of sympathizing with the soul reapers I feel sorry for the quinces. They are just victims to Yhwach’s warmongering. Also, it doesn’t change whether Yamamoto and Unohana were aware of soul society’s dark history. They still wanted to do their own thing and were separate from the aristocracy
