I’m glad you showed this perspective because it’s not as easy as the sped up, edited version. People who want to homestead need to see the real deal.

Happy Henry’s little voice is such a delight for a mother whose children are all starting to grow up. I can’t imagine farming or homesteading with littles. You and your family are always inspiring!

Cinematic footage is beautiful and takes a lot of effort to create. It can make for a great 3rd party educational tool.
POV footage is easy to produce, but is very appreciative, however the smaller audience, because it shows the first hand education.
I am very thankful for the more “raw” daily footage of your chores. For me, it gives a better expectation, educationally, vs the beautiful films you create.
Thank you for following the idea to have a change up.

THIS is farm life. Cows put feet in milk, cows get out where they shouldn't be, you get where you are going and don't have something you need, water hoses leak, water runs out and chickens get killed and the list goes on and on. We love our way of life, but it isn't for everyone and certainly not for those thinking it is a fairytale life.

Thanks for allowing this video to represent farming in some of its truer form's of the process. Editing has a tendency to make it all appear so unchallenging. So thank you in this one you've kept it pretty much 💯. I'm seeing how some other channels are going through a process of trying to create appealing content. Yet with the potential of many great rewards that can be achieved for any family through homestead or farming which ever is appropriate. The reality is that it is often very demanding of a individual and of the family group. But thanks for all of the Homestead Community UA-cam channels that tend to make this life style look so easy through the process of editing.

If you could revisit the price of raising your poultry with the increase feed prices? Are you still saving money? Or is the cost of farming a deficit? You are fortunate to have Green Gold with pastures, but we've seen so many local farmers stop selling their abundance and downsizing their flocks due to the cost of feed exceeding the benefits of poultry.

I LOVED this kind of video! Please put out more of these "silent" and real time jobs that you do on the farm! It's very important and informative! Because a life as a homesteader, it involves a lot of repetition routine and hard work that we don't really know what it's like unless we follow along with the (lovely) farmer.
Your family rocks. Thank you for all your work and beautiful creations!

When we were milking we used sanitized towels to wash teats. If they were real dirty we used a hose then sanitized towel. Also after milking use teat dip to protect from germs. If a cow had any cuts we used bag balm. It is medicated and can be used on humans. Great for dry skin and used to help swelling in bag when cow has a calf. Comes in a green can with clover 🍀 on can.

Choosing not to narrate the vlog vs being intentionally silent create different vibes in the vlog IMHO. I'm a long time viewer and I love the channel... just don't care for the intentional silence. This is about to be one of those potentially unwelcome comments so please take it as intended. NOT as criticism. Just as a faithful viewer who once had a space like this. If it's not broke, don't fix it. I get not having to hussle the way you used to. But you've been changing what you are doing here and perhaps it could change your results. Maybe that ends up being a good thing because you get lots of new viewers. But us old viewers are not as interested in this as we were with what you were producing. We love those kids. We love hearing about what is happening. We love the real life day to day that you have given. Don't try to hard to build something "more". We've loved who you all are for a long time.

This was a wonderful video that shows truly how tough farm life can be… It was wrong and it showed frustration and honesty and I appreciate that very much. We all have days like that whether were farmers or not. I felt for you as I watch this video more times in one!! You just wanted to get a job done that should take 10 to 15 minutes or less and suddenly it becomes 30 minutes or more, Plus the wasted milk and Diana calls it messes and you’re little paddock area, Plus a little boy beginning to fasten adding to the stress. And I almost suspect that you weren’t feeling the best… I could be wrong but I say that based on your gate and the difficulty with which everything seem to be endured, but again as I said before we all have days like that and the job Has to be done regardless!!!!!
Today I am having one of those days myself, So I have great empathy for you♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
“One day at a time sweet Jesus it’s all I’m asking of you coat! Remind yourself of all the things you keep doing right because you and your wife truly are💕💕 You have only to look in your children’s eyes and know you’re are, I’ll look at the beautiful gardens and orchard areas and your lands to be able to pat yourself on the back. Farming is not for the weak at heart & I think you for sharing this wonderful video with us… It speaks volumes😊😊❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I'm sure you know better than me, but what about moving the shelter first and then milking? Less poop that way.

The silence is nice, the constant moving camera and close shot are not nice...

I'm inexperienced, it seems like there is a lot (most) of milk left in the cow, do you only milk a small amount at a time?

Using the wire brush on the cows udder made me cringe. Do you have friends that could maybe help you with some milking tips and tricks, maybe Jess? She is actually a great cow.

we had 300 Head of milking cows so we used a dairy Barn with 20 stall's and milking machines pumping to a large tank for pickup twice a week.

I don't understand Justin from the sounds you are making it sounds like you are in pain so why would you put the baby on your back and make it worse I understand you want to spend time with the baby but what time are you going to spend with him if you are laying in bed all stowed up.
