Curiosities: -Opening and closing logos have VHS overlay for no reason than to just be there. -I might post captions to logos and IDs that don't have English in them. -The logo at 10:40 didn't steal Rede Globo's idents, they borrowed them. (they were an affiliate or sorts idk) -Part 5? What? That might not even happen. It might, I don't know. I was going to stop this at Part 2. -If some of you ask, "Why don't you like logos that everyone knows about?"...I don't like having favor of things that people put their time towards. -As said in the description, there's only one movie logo in the compilation. As for the logos you might like here, I have a feeling which ones they will be. ( *cough* The more common ones *cough* ) -Either way, I do hope you enjoy this video and learn about my graphic design interests. Also, the deadlypancakes logo seen at the end was just something made because I had extra time. Deadlypancakes is my brother (who shares no interests in logos and such, but it is his birthday today so that's a nice addition to the video)
Well there is a fact about that logo at 10:40. SIC TV was actually launched as a portuguese counterpart(or maybe made as an afilliate)of Rede Globo. The brazilian network controls 15% of the network. The remaining part goes to the other stakeholders making that as Portugal's 1st Commercial Television Station to go on air. Well btw i like the jingle they used.
I love the JOAX-TV startup. It was so ahead of its time, its longevity was amazing, and it got significantly better looking throughout the years. Not to mention the fricking music and animation are BEAUTIFUL!
12:12 - This brings back memories of my first trip to Japan with my parents in the spring of '96-I recall seeing this just before "Asaten-Five" (Japan's equivalent to _A.M. Weather_ - even though the latter had already ended a year ago).
13:01 Actually it wasn't said 7000 + a number, but 76 (Sete Meia, not Sete Mil) + another number instead. 6 pronounced as "meia" instead of "seis" is a Brazil-only thing (it comes from "half a dozen" in portuguese - "meia dúzia".
my father remembers the ident at 11:45. vaguley. because he was born in 1970. his parents told me that he once saw it in 1974, but it was black and white and very distorted, due to them living in kowloon walled city. he also remembers the ident at 12:02, when he was 16/17. he was no longer living in kowloon walled city then, and in an apartment in mainland kowloon. edit: his/my family (yeung, 楊) was known as the only household jn the city that had television.
Hey No., at 6:46 the song (that you can't understand due to that crappy video quality) was named Communication (you'd better translate that to Portuguese as it's actually the name of that song and search that on UA-cam, good luck though hehe joke) but ironically that is the theme song to a satire comedy show on Globo named Satiricom (1972-1975)
The name of the song is "Comunicação" by Coral Som Livre, yes, but there are no lyrics for it online. I don't actually speak Portuguese, I Google Translate everything and then make some sense out of it. If I had lyrics I'd translate them, and then make them more accurate.
I came here because you posted on uncle e's channel and someone said your channel was full of logos. Didn't make sense at first, now I see he wasn't lying.
Nope lol. Might be weird to see logos on UA-cam because...you know, who the hell uploads about that shit. But I figure older graphic design on television + other media is pretty cool to study.

13:16 Ooo, that must have been really pushing the technology. Marginal frame rates (just on the edge of jitteriness) and marginal poly counts (just on the edge of angularity). Could have done better in 1989.
Logos I Recognized: (will be updated) Rede Record (December '94) ((i appreciate their cgi)) ((('79 too))) Venevision (thanks tv tropes) ((metallic CGI face wearing glasses = rad?)) American Cinema Releasing ('79) Polygram Video/Arena Ten BEC/Channel 3 (thanks 3rd compilation) Pyramid (Japan) Radio Quebec (pretty obvious where that's from) TVB Jade I guess JOAX-TV (pretty long time. I mean, '52 to 2001?!) WQLN (not living in Erie myself) WTVS (think it was the cheesy pbs logo list you posted) the Australian SBS (pretty obviously not Seoul broadcasting System) ABS-CBN (their livestreams pop up on the live section from time to time) KTTV (yes, this list is long)
you can tag me now well true. ABS-CBN DOES has livestreams of their noontime shows like ASAP or It's Showtime or Kapamilya Chat which means that the viewers might ask some questions so basically a Q&A livestream and they really upload videos time to time to time to......sigh sigh sigh sigh (which makes the network really annoying)
Hey. I was wondering if things are going well on the CLG Wiki. I haven't been there ever since I retired, and I was wondering if you could tell everyone that I said hello.
CLG ran through a little hiccup where Lucas (studioghiblifan) got into really hot water again. People started to leave but they're back now. Currently we're undergoing a situation where threads don't even work. Lovely. So right now, things could be better. but I think they're being fixed
RTL Plus started in 1984 in Germany. That became the main and international service. the original RTL Television began in 1982, renamed from the previous RTL Tele Luxembourg.
And I thought that there is RTL in Luxembourg, Germany and Hungary. Dude, the acronym RTL was used quite a lot there. I wonder which other country uses RTL...
The Netherlands. They have RTL4. I noticed that the first intro of all the RTL networks that aired Millionaire used the same intro, music for the intro and possibly the set and graphics for the questions.
Hey, No. You may find a ripoff at 5:20. The said ident pretty looks like a ident ORIGINALLY USED by Nine Network Australia in 1983. Please reply if you're interested. Oh and here's a another logo ripoff at 9:45. A Colombian Network logo pretty might look like OR JUST COPIED Rede Globo's Logo. At the end you may see a screen and a circle at it, Similiar to Globo. Oh and i just finally knew why every SKorean tv network to put sponsors below everytime they played their station ident/jingle. Oh and plus. The one at 15:28 actually aired around 1986,1987,1988,1989 OR 1990. ABS-CBN returned to the airwaves since Marcos gave up leadership in Philippines(aka since the EDSA revolution began)
I actually knew that 5:20 was inspired by Channel Nine. Globograph, the people who made some Rede Globo "vinhetas", created that ident and the person who made it (Robert Shimose) said he was given permission to.
Probably not tomorrow lol. This list took about a week to do, let alone I don't spend all my time making videos. If I even make a part 5 it'll be a few months.
Curiosities:

No. This deserves to be on the QnA but why do you like Rede-related logos?
I studied them at one point. International logo design is fascinating.
No. Well thanks for answering, that question was flying on my mind and it's freed now.
I love the JOAX-TV startup. It was so ahead of its time, its longevity was amazing, and it got significantly better looking throughout the years. Not to mention the fricking music and animation are BEAUTIFUL!
the TUF one was so exciting to watch, just look at the fitting animation with the music
12:12 - This brings back memories of my first trip to Japan with my parents in the spring of '96-I recall seeing this just before "Asaten-Five" (Japan's equivalent to _A.M. Weather_ - even though the latter had already ended a year ago).
Note at 11:00: The SIC logo was animated by Roberto Shimose, who also animated some of the Rede Globo idents featured.
Benkirb, is that really you?
That JOAX-TV from the 50s is gorgeous. Holy shit.
11:07 I think the Radio-Quebec one was my most favorite and most peaceful logos on this list!
shame that in 2020 tele-quebec is basiclly just a (public iirc) children's television channel.
11:23 Wearing headphones, this is the FIRST time I’ve heard the background bass in this logo.
I know I kinda fucked the audio on this video, tried to make it louder :/
Another day, another one TOOK MAI TEA.
Quite of an amusing list you have. If I were to pick a favorite out of all of these, I’d say some of the colorful Brazilian network logos.
Nice collection of foreign logos! I especially enjoyed the logos for CBVT and CHOT. Such 80s magic.
The Rede Globo ones were cool too.
8:34 GARFIELD
6:28 this ident is AMAZING, compared to it’s abseloute terrible 1st logo and 1996 logo.
my father remembers the ident at 11:45. vaguley. because he was born in 1970. his parents told me that he once saw it in 1974, but it was black and white and very distorted, due to them living in kowloon walled city.

10:06 that kinda sounds like earthbound music, or a smash Bros remix of earthbound music.
5:20 Same as the Channel Nine Logo from 1984
The vaporwave community would LOVE Pyramid Video.
As well as TUF (Fukushima).
FilipinoMapleLeaf2006 and also TV cicade + central globo de produções

Fun Fact: The Network Ten was used until October 31st of 2018 when they switched to use the number 10 instead. You can find the start up on UA-cam.
RTL Television: We control reality TV and some of Europe's best networks!
8:22 I love this ident. Mainly because of the saxophone part.
I love how the Canal 12 ident is clearly a rip-off from one of Channel Nine's 80s idents
A decent yet tame Frecuencia Latina logo?
Color me shocked. No CAMBIOS!
13:56 Looks like an object character to me.
I like the Sjonvarpid logo because of the music. It's like a newsflash is starting.

That sounds like a good idea on paper but here's why it ISN'T: Copyright strikes. I already have one and can't afford another, nevermind two of them.

RTL launched on January 2, 1984.

Nope, your both wrong. RTL started in Luxembourg in 1955 as Tele Luxembourg. It has been carrying the RTL name since the 70s.
