- This brief video will cover the process by which oxygen delivery to the cells is amplified through the Bohr and Haldane Effects. These two work together to maximize oxygen delivery at the tissues and the CO2 pickup into the bloodstream. Please comment below with any questions!

Great video. I didn’t understand why the CO2 would bind with water. It seemed like an unnecessary step until you explained why.
I had a great teacher explain that to me once, and it finally clicked! Glad I can relay the information to help you 🙌🏼
I love you save my Medicine

Meine Medizin Studium dank dir gerettet.
So bohr and haldane effect is occurs in both working tissues and lungs??
Absolutely! And I would contend that these effects are best understood by looking at their actions at both locations.
@@organizedbiology thank you
Sir can you please tell the reference book?
This is from Seeley’s A&P 13th Edition by VanPutte.
But haldane effect is concerned with increased amount of association with haemoglobin (saturation) and bohr effect is opposite of that , what you explained is a general process that occurs in normal body conditions . These effects occur in certain conditions that have no relation whatsoever with what was explained. Reference: ninja nerd video.
(I would like to learn and understand it better if I'm wrong) , can you explain me....
Hi there! First off, it’s great you’re looking at multiple videos/sources to understand concepts. To clarify, I’m focusing primarily on ‘putting the pieces together’ with the Bohr and Haldane effects. While they ARE two independent things, they work together in terms of the body to help transport oxygen and CO2 throughout circulation. If you want to separate them out, you can simply say this: the Bohr Effect states: The more acidic the solution, the less affinity hemoglobin has for oxygen; the less acidic; the more affinity hemoglobin has for oxygen. The Haldane effect states, as you mentioned, the more oxygen begins to bind to hemoglobin, the higher affinity the hemoglobin has for oxygen, whereas the more CO2 begins to bind hemoglobin, the higher affinity hemoglobin has for CO2.
However, when watching this video, you’ll see that the Bohr effect helps to ‘amplify’ the haldane effect at the body tissues, as well as in the next video at the lungs.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have clarifications/questions after reading this.
thank you so much for explaining it out, checked the channel, great videos, keep it up@@organizedbiology 👍
