Most underrated powerlifting Chanel on the tubes 🚫🧢
quality of videos is amazing for channel size, should be upper 500k
Notifications on my phone give me anxiety
Seeing it's a new CBB video gives me arousal
I've found that this optimal state depends on the lift I'm doing. Focus for deadlifts, hype for squats and fear for bench are what gives me the best performance every time.
Absolutely! I think that's perfectly possible/plausible that we would/could need different levels for the different exercises. Good point!
Absolutely agree, except I get hyped for deads and stay calm for squats
Now this is an incredibly undervalued topic, great video man!
I have trouble limiting arousal meet day, I find it easiest to simply tuck it upwards under my belt.
😂😂🤣
Came here for the Selk, stayed... for the Selk.
Full Tuck
Very undervalued topic- thanks!
You should come to the SF bay area in California for a seminar! There are several local gyms (Max's Gym, Speed Power Strength, etc.) that I'm sure would love to have you guys!
#SQUAAAAAAAA 🔥💪
Awesome vid again! Thanks guys 💪
My best and worse performances have both been very relaxed. However, I think for me there's a subtle difference between being relaxed and 'ready' to being relaxed and 'indifferent'. Also, I seem to do better when eyes are on me. I'm not sure if it's the performer in me or the fear of failing to an audience but something kicks in when people are watching me (or even when I convince myself people are watching) that I can't seem to artificially create when the gym is empty.
So one of the other things that Yury Hanin helped clear up was that there are facilitating and debilitating reactions to inherently positive and negative emotions - meaning that the way we think about and feel about a certain emotion - our reaction to it - is more important than the emotion itself. So maybe you perform best when you're a little nervous, or feel "under pressure". Entirely possible, and something I think that applies to myself too. I've never done well in gym tests.
Great video. As a life long competitor and therapist, I give a big thumbs up.
Could we maybe get some more album recommendations? 🤷🏻♂️ haha
I like your stuff before I even watch, it's just THAT good 😆
I literally fell asleep for 30 minutes during the part where said ‘close your eyes and visualize a time…’
About to have a heavy bench session , thank you
Just did my first powerlifting meet. I was so nervous, tense and shacking. Red flags all around my fist squat attempt. I had to gather myself. By the end of the meet, I hit a deadlift PR. While I was nervous, it was more controlled. This is gold info here. Thanks for this video. I’ll watch this before each meet now.
I actually just suffered a severe migraine incident that was from parts unknown. I had a meet planned and also I have final exams since I'm in college. It's hard to not allow all of the anxiety behind with all these stressors. I think I'll start by having fun in the gym. Sometimes I get so caught up in training that I forget that it's just a hobby that I truly enjoy.
Really useful video Bryce!
I'm a bit suprised you didn't mention caffeine/stimulants anxiety side effects, and how to deal with them. Long story short - for every coffee/Napalm etc drink extra 300-500ml of clean water.
I'm sure those are issues for many, and potentially even great recommendations, however that just wasn't the avenue I was coming at this from, nor was that in the scope of my research to be giving advice on. I do definitely see a tendency within our sport to use a lot of caffeine and pre-workouts though, so I see where you're coming from!
This is fantastic. Thank you!
This topic is ignored and seen as fluff, but is so damn important. People need to care less about supplement stacks and more about mental health
Idk if i'm the only one but for me it depends on the exercise haha on squats i need something like 95-100% arousal , Deadlifts about 90% and Bench 80% .
This video needs to be shared. Absolutely amazing.
I get slime production in my throat when I get stressed when the numbers go up or max out. So I have to cough. In the warm up reps and lower weights this does not happen. Anyone can relate? Or tips?
Super awesome content again and the film quality is 😙👌🏻
Give me ne merch or give me death!
This is excellent advice, Bryce! Kudos to you for offering this to the powerlifting public at no cost. I imagine it must take some significant time investment on your part to put this sort of video together. Thank you!
I just get anxiety every time I’m going to hit a PR and because of anxiety I miss lifts quite often
Awesome video. There's so much that goes into the mental aspect of training. Great to see an informative video about it
Just a brilliant video! thank you
I needed this so bad. THANK YOU
thanks so much for this video, it was a much needed one.
Are you satisfied with were you are? Obviously you want to get even stronger, but do you see yourself as strong? I'm not even close to your level (yet), but when did you start seeing yourself as strong? I've not been lifting for a very long time (about 1.5 years), but it feels like no matter how strong I get I'll never see myself in that way. Does that feeling come overtime?
Awesome tips man. Awesome editing and filming as well!
I really enjoyed that thank you
what camera model you use?
Well put together & presented
I put 666 like

wow. in depth. nice.
