Can you sign up for game pass, unlock all the champions and then quit game pass and keep all the champions? Or do you need to have a current game pass membership to keep the champions unlocked?
they go back to lock. same as game pass games.
Tried just that, and no. It's like when the champs are on free rotation, they get a special little icon in the corner that goes away when your membership is expired.

@@theNimboo yep even as someone who has played for 12 years i remember the grind it took to earn all the champions like 3 years back then ( i played very little compaired to now ) i think its a slap in the face. SARCASM -> ya know it just had to give all champs it couldnt just be like a boost of blue essence. it couldnt be just a seperate set of missions to get hextech chest. it just had to be HEY ALL CHAMPS FOR FREE IF U ALREADY KINDA PLAY XBOX. and wtf is this animation its at least 20x better then the 2023 seasonal animation. that just shows you how many people are actually working on rito's league of legends we have 4 rats,10 hamsters, a college kid that can run unreal engine 4 and 150 skin designers. and 1 fkn monitor.

like come on, i had to grind for it too, but just because we had it rough doesnt mean new players should have it too, the fun of playing league isnt on grinding to unlock every single champion, not to mention league is constantly evolving and changing, people were pissed when dragon and baron timers were added in the game for the same reason, how dare they make this game easier and more accessible for newer players while also taking the burden of having to write down timers or memorizing them like the good old days
Not sure if it makes a difference to you but whenever the deal is over they don't get to keep the champions.

I connected my account and then disconnected the next day, I've been playing league of legends for a long time an have all but 6 champions so when you put an icon on each champion that says it's unlocked thanks to gamepass that makes me mad because I put in a lot of time to unlock them myself. It should only be on the champions that it actually unlocked and not all of them.

You don't actually own them, just unlock them like free rotation. If you cancel your membership they're locked again.

Valorant has such a fascinating plot and graphics! I believe that Valorant Animated series would be amazing and I hope others would agree with me. So rediculous for those of us playing for seasons and just now unlocking all the Champs. We had to grind so hard just for Riot to now give out all the Champs for free. Do we even have any use for blue essence after all the rune pages and Champs are bought yet or still just a useless currency???
It's not free, you still pay your monthly gamepass.
you only get them while the game pass is active, cant buy skins for the champ or do anything but play them to try and then buy them so it isnt super ridicoulus

Dang... Smites a great game but being able to buy all current AND all future gods for $30, (oddly most cosmetic content costs more for one skin than the Pass)- is what I think kills smite's playerbase...- aside from ranking, theres no goal for players to work for(without drying out their bank accounts).... Ive spent a decade playing league and have hard earned each champion and rank and everything inbetween thru play time. Now, new players will sign up, pay whatever, and have everything i worked for over the years- PLUS all WR champs that i tried working for, but it was too much..- PLUS all little legends (which i also only have like a QUARTER AT MOST due to both play time and event missions), all valorant agents, and i guess all 'foundations' from LoR ( granted i dont play V or LoR), but this announcement makes me feel so defeated and my loyal dedication is now pointless...
At the very least, I hope they give some shred of compensation to those like me.. (I have 3 diff accounts that own every single champion, nearly all purchased freely with IP, now BE). Guess my overall conclusion is that I'm afraid that Riot built League from nothing to one of the most popular streamed competitive games in the world, only to shoot themselves in the foot and allow a one time payment to give someone everything from all of their games, and leave them without a goal to work for- - -in every one of their games- -
P.S. - the XP boosts for each game just gets inexperienced players to the ranked criteria faster, but means nothing to any player beyond that point.
Focus on your community. Your game's have absolutely awful matchmaking that penalizes people to get them to play more which forms unhealthy addictions. How can you have so many employees, make billions of dollars and eventually be your own downfall? Its simple. Keep doing what you are doing. Keep going backwards. Pin this message and you'll see in 5 years. One inch at a time. Let us not forget about the class action lawsuits that will come before then. I mean this sincerely, I hope Riot gets its shit together because I don't want that to happen, but it will.

The fact that Valorant was mentioned first and before League as well as being on the left of all the games at the end says how much of a priority there is on it over the other games. Same way how LoR has the lowest priority with it being mentioned last and being all the way on the right. All the kids are playing Valorant these days and League's new recruit numbers are going down compared to the past, making the older players an increasingly higher percentage of the playerbase. In other words, League will become Riot's main millenial/early gen z game, and Valorant Riot's main gen z game.
They have to put one game on the right and one on the left... dont search the malice in these useless things.
LoR has a lot of content, it lacks of marketing

As for the age thing, it's not directly about just the age, it's what the age says about the playerbase. League was the popular game of the last decade and for that generation of teens and young adults. Gaming has become more mainstream over the last decade and the entry age of becoming a "gamer" went from early/mid teens to late elementary school. And unlike last decade's generation; kids, teens, and young adults these days enjoy shooters over moba's , a.k.a. the next generation of spending players and the players with the highest amount of game hours because they don't have work, hence the high priority on Valorant.

So, League of Legends has over 100 champions, costing ungodly amounts of BE to buy individual (made worse by the fact that champ sales only reduce the RP price, which is generally not recommended to use for champ unlocks) and many of which flipflop between being meta breaking and useless on the monthly... Did Microsoft just make League officially pay to win (for anyone who isn't a veteran player who already has all of the champs)?
No, LoL isnt pay to win.
Owning all champs doesnt provide you any advantage in League of Legends, iron or challenger.
LoL is designed to make you play a few champs and play them well and a lot, so having all champs change nothing
@@yabara_ Really the question is, how long will that last... as the game gets more and more complex and more new champs come out with extremely bloated kits (and more hard and soft counters get added as a result)... will the idea that one tricks can still reach Challenger hold true? Or is there a future where players have to diversify if they want to play at any level outside of casual gamemodes (which League already has very few of).
